Reply to two comments...the person who said that it was a fumble by Harmon...I guess we saw two different things because it happened directly in front of me too. That ball was not coming lose before he hit the ground, and there are a lot of fans (who know what they are talking about) who would agree with me. Yes I was sweating it out at the end when LCM was driving, but the drive was coming from a bad fumble call. I thought there were bad calls both ways (just like any game), it just seemed like the bad calls were at very crucial points for both teams. LCM has themselves a great coach. It's good to see a program turn around for the better. Not much parking because there is still a lot of construction going on.

That's pretty dang impressive. I will have to say though LCM looked better than I have seen them in a long time. However, there is no possible way that was a fumble by Harmon in the 4th quarter on LCM's 20. Once of the worst calls I have ever seen and anyone at the game would agree. LCM people...you know it wasn't a fumble too Good game...no one better sleep on LCM...they are pretty good.

Yeah...I'm pretty sure she has built a pretty good program in Nederland. I guess that would go under the qualifications of doing something right.

Haha...what I'm saying is it's not like Orangefield would do any damage in that district (at least not this year). So what's the big deal if Nederland beat Orangefield. Now in two years or so if they still beat Orangefield...then that is saying something. Just my thoughts though. Orangefield is just young right now...but they are going to be great with experience.

I don't understand that comment. I don't think Orangefield could beat the top teams in that district (LCM, PNG, Ozen). Now I agree Nederland will make the fourth spot.

I did not go to the game but it seems to me 28 points the first game of the year after only having a month and a half to incorporate your offense isn't too bad. How many times did OF score 28 points last year? Giving up 35 isn't good...I'll agree with you there...but perhaps things could change.

Why doesn't Coach Leach just keep the people she's being forced to keep and just sit those girls. Give them a jersey and just let them sit. If there are girls on J.V. better than those girls she's being forced to keep (if it's all true) just sit those girls. Don't put girls down on J.V. to play ones that you cut in the first place. Is she being forced to play these girls?

The fact that they lost one to Vidor might mean they are going to have a tough time beating Silsbee and HF.

Not everyone plays during summer league. I've heard that Warren has a middle that is 5'10" and can touch rim...is that true?

How can you sue a school district by cutting a player?

How much bigger is Silsbee than all the other 3A teams in the area? If there team is as good as I have heard they have a chance to make some noise in the playoffs this year.

I'll be the first to admit Silsbee is looking good this year and I'm very impressed after all they lost last year. They must have had some girls sitting the bench on varsity that could play. I haven't seen them play yet though but they appear to be pretty good.

A great majority of people don't like volleyball because they haven't watched a good varsity game. Anyone that I personally know that thought they didn't like volleyball but then watch it...it all changes. But I agree...it's like hockey...it doesn't get the hype but when people watch it they usually love it.

For the most part 1A/2A teams don't beat any of the top 3A teams. 3A teams wouldn't be ranked with the 4A teams...maybe one or two. I know Buna beat OF the other night and imo OF should have been off the list but they did well in the tournament Saturday. I haven't seen Warren play but I have heard they are good. I watched Buna play...they did win but I don't they are good enough to be in the top 10 with 3A teams. Kountze...they are always good but I haven't seen them without Kayla Johnson. Are they going to be good this year? If they want respect (and some teams should get it) then the schools need to play Silsbee, BC, HF and win.

Here we go...someone else who "knows" volleyball. Tell me...do you play the sport, coach the sport, or have you just always watched? Yes...you can win games if you don't hit the ball hard. But if you are a good team you should not lose to teams that don't have power. I didn't see any hard driven balls last night from Buna...they just made less mistakes. And I'm not an Orangefield fan. That just happened to be the game I went to last night. It was not pretty volleyball. Definately beginning of the year. If you want to be a team that goes somewhere you have to play smart and yes...you have to be a team that hits hard driven balls.

Buna didn't even hit the ball hard. Orangefield isn't playing very well right now. They have some big steps to take if they want to make the playoffs, but the talent is there and the head coach is good. They should come around.

Friday night volleyball is not a problem if it is done like the 3A teams around here do it. However...I see his point. But Saturday's just wouldn't work.

Really...BC went through 4 coaches in 4 years. Becca Matthews almost took them to state her 2nd year. This is the first volleyball coach OF has had that really knows the game...it's true if you want to believe it or not...all others weree basketball first. HF doesn't even have club. Girls travel if they want to play and Orange club isn't all that spectacular either. Can u give me #'s about their wins to prover your statement b/c HJ was 2-6 in district last year and I believe 4-10 the previous year. I'm glad you back your girls and coaches the way you do...parents should and if the varsity teams have been young then this year should be a decent year. We shall see

Except that Bellville is now Region 4 no one around here would see them until state. If OF or anyone else in 3A wants state...the easiest ride is 1st or 3rd place in district.
