The Markum family thanks everyone for all the nice comments about Kyle. We would also like to thank Chris Fackler for his support, both on and off the field, and for providing Kyle the opportunity to play in front of college scouts. Thanks to Sam Moore, Morgan Walker and all the other quality coaches that are with the Gladiator organization. Special thanks to HF's Wayne Mahaffy and staff for helping Kyle to learn that whether you win or loose, do both with character. Thanks to Chad Landry for giving a Freshman a chance.Thank you to Dave Morrow and the entire Gladiator family for providing teams and support for local players like Kyle that just need a chance to live the dream. A very special thank you to Jed McBride that eight years ago took a group of 10 yr. olds and laid the foundation for them on how the game was to be played. So far, three of those Scrappers will be playing the next level with several more to join them soon. Most importantly, thanks to Wharton's Coach Solis and Coach Haney for giving Kyle an opportunity. Mike Markum -
Congratulations to Coach Fackler for a well run league. There were a lot of fine young ball players out there and I hope good things happen for them.

Don't go to sleep on HF. The Horns have some fire power and they are bringing back 7 starters. If they stay healthy, they will be contenders. Though, no matter what happens, there are a lot of fine young ball players in 21AAA and it will be another exciting season.

Outstanding Price. I know Mom and Dad are proud. Good luck to you.

Good job Gladiators. Welcome back home. -
Outstanding !! Hard work always pays off.

It was a very exciting game. The Longhorns worked through some difficult situations and found a way to win. Bottom of 7th, bases loaded and Sr. Jake Minaldi gets hit by the pitch to push in the tying run. Bottom of the 8th, Jr. Kyle Markum draws a lead off walk which brings up Soph. Tommy Wendling to hit the 0-2 bomb. Sr. Logan Johnson was in fine form striking-out 15 batters. Way to go Horns !! Finish Strong !!

There have been several good points made. I feel like there is still some fight left in the Horns. If you want to make the play-offs, you better come ready to play them. There have been many valuable lessons that should have been learned from this season. I hope the team was taking good notes and comes back next year as a force to be dealt with. Everyone on the team has a role to play. Accept your role, whatever or wherever that might be, and give it everything you've got. Not only will you be a better teammate, you'll build a stronger team. Go Horns !!! Finish Strong!!
