Who is the Best to come out of your school
Cool Hand Luke replied to cardinals4life's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Okay like I said Kody Becnol had LSU interested until he blew out his knee and they gave up on him after the injury. Travis still has all his letters from schools and one that have personally seen asking him to go on an official visit to Cincinnatti. He told them no he would rather play baseball. I never saw Weaver play like I said. I know there was a great coach weaver at Nederland but growing up and playing there I haven't ever heard about the player so I dont know how good he was. I know Loupe and Neely were very good as well. Hammond gets a playoff berth and wins he has to be considered at the top. Making it to the playoffs doesn't put anyone there. 4 teams go now. When Weaver played only 1 team went. If three went back in 1983 then Nederland would have been in the playoffs. A different system now. I believe they would have beaten the current Bulldog Team. -
Best 3 Point Shooter This Year?
Cool Hand Luke replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Need to define best 3 point shooter. Is it the player who scores a lot of points because he takes a lot of 3 point shots but only makes about 30% of them or is it the player who only scores 3-9 points a game from behind the arc but is shooting at about 50%? -
I got curious to see who on the above list had actually stoodout in 2008's season. So, I went back and reviewed the All District Teams I could find(24-2A, 21-3A, and 22-4A) and and the All Southeast Texas Team. Below are the players from the above list that made both the 2008 All District 1st or 2nd Team for their respective districts and the 2008 All Southeast Texas Team(1st Team or Honorable Mention): C-- Stefan Leger, LCM; Jacob Felts, OF; Ty Parker, JAS. INF-- Matt Hicks, BC; Jordan Pitts, NED; Chaz Bruce, VID; Kane Benoit, PNG; Kirby Bellow, NED; Joe Robertson, BC. OF– Trae Hester, VID; Jace Statum, OF. P – Brandon Hillin, Buna; Kirby Bellow, NED; Trae Hester, VID; Matt Hicks, BC. Of the remaining players the below listed made 1st or 2nd Team All District in 22-4A, 21-3A, and 24 -2A: INF-- Dallas Brown, LCM; Stefan Cloeren, LCM; Blake Hubbard, BC; Jordan Darnell, WOS; Chad Sims, Vid; Jerin Spikes, PNG. OF-- Randy Musgrove, Kir; Amir Jalalai, PNG; Hunter Hagler, Vid; Blake Reyenga, PNG. P-- Josh Dean, Ned; Jerin Spikes, PNG; Blake Snyder, BC; Cody Laird, Ned. There are some players that keep being mentioned that are absent. Doesn't mean they are not good players who will probably have good seasons but they haven't proved it yet, while the others evidently have.

Does Kyle Green or Cody Robbins know he moved to Vidor also?....... ;D

Not exactly. They played very bad against Lumberton. Nowhere near their ability. Lack of intensity/focus by Nederland players. One player missed 8-10 free throws in a row and stood at the line laughing > about it. Those free throws alone would have won this one. Lumberton wanted it more and played harder!

Lamar Baseball Signs Five In Early Signing Period
Cool Hand Luke replied to a topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Did Coach Gilligan look at any other players from our area? -
Of all these players was Jude Vidrine the only one to sign early?

I am glad he can play but wonder why in other sports you have to sit the next game. Shouldn't there be consistency from one sport to the next ???

Lumberton vs. Nederland Predictions?
Cool Hand Luke replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Hmmm...illness was never an acceptable excuse with the coaches I played for. I'm rocking the black and gold today as well but fortunately for me they were the college colors so no allergic reaction... Your right if it's just a cold but if it requires a doctor's attention like the flu you don't want to lose a whole team down with it. I've seen coaches let players go home hoping thay would be well enough to play by game day. -
*Nederland vs. Vidor Updates*DOGS WIN!!!!

Just for knowlege sake after being ejected from a game are you allowed to play in the next one? I don't necessarily agree with it, but in other sports you are suspended for the next game. -
Lumberton vs. Nederland Predictions?
Cool Hand Luke replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
It's the right decision in this case. Church, college visit/prep, or illness are about the only reasons I could see being accepted. Attending an NBA game ??? Bad decision. -
A few off of the top of my head that I think could be: Stefan Leger - LCM Chad Sims - Vidor Jordan Pitts - Nederland Jerin Spikes - PNG Brandon Hillen - Buna Josh Dean - Nederland Stefan Cloeren- LCM Matt Johnson - LCM Jaden Dillon - BC Jude Vidrine - Nederland Tim Barry - LCM

J'Covan Brown To Texas is Not Happening
Cool Hand Luke replied to a topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Wishful thinking! This kid wants to play big time basketball. He has already turned down San Jac and obviously doesn't want to attend Juco. At the moment, he is a high profile player and wants to play against the big boys. What he wants to do may be irrelevant. He may have to play at a JUCO just to get eligible. He's got to do what it takes. Should have thought about it before now. -

Dogs should be strong. Good group of athletes. -
My last word on this subject: Let's don't mistake fact for opinion. Everyone's got an opinion. The only fact is that this team has won. If you are truly talking to the parents as I have, it seems there are more supporters than detractors. Let the TEAM have their day instead of raining on their parade.

Did they win?? ??? Sound's to me like the manager has plenty of pitching and hasn't had to play enough games to test it. Four games in each tournament most of which were won by landslide. I didn't see his son as having pitched either. Great problem to have. This is a talented team that is winning. Too bad people come on here to push their personal favorites, maybe their son, instead of supporting the team's effort. Players keep playing together and don't listen to the dividers. Bring home the trophy.

So are the players on Sun Devils, Babe Ruth, Heat,.... The administrators created a separate forum for non-school related threads.

Isn't there a forum for select/babe ruth/little league for this to be posted on?
