1. Cardinals need to structure a deal for Pujols for $15 million for the next 20 years. You must look at how much they are paying Holliday already.  Spread the contract over several years.  Cardinals might be in a good place to drive the price down.  Who that has money needs a first baseman?  Red Sox locked Gonzales up, Yanks have Tex.  I cant see either of those 2 having him as a DH. Cubs? Angels? Rangers?
2. Richard Justice of Houston Chron belives the Astros to be a refreshing team to watch in 2011.  (Probably March 30, 31, July 1-3)  Chron
3. Bullpen lacking for Brew Crew. Rangers will be okay.  The rest of their division should be pretty weak.
4. One of the Greatest pitchers to every play the game.  True Legend and Fan of the Game
5. Joe Blanton should come available. Unless C.C. opts out of his contract there will be no free agents aces available after the 2011 season.
6. "What does/did it cost to see a game at Fenway?" You can get tickets as low as $12.00
7. "There are very few "Roger Clemens" types that will sell out the stadium every 5th day.  Not many times can you see a Homegrown, future Hall of Famer that is still one of the top pitchers in the league." When Manny went to the Dodgers, I remember reading attendance was up over 5000 per game.
8. It was Veterans Committee.  Only Vida Blue Dave Concepción Steve Garvey Pat Gillick Ron Guidry Tommy John Billy Martin Marvin Miller Al Oliver Ted Simmons Rusty Staub George Steinbrenner were on the list. I was surprised that Marvin Miller didnt get elected
9. Owners have two choices to do with the money 1) put $ in their pockets 2) spend it on players in hopes it puts more money back in their pockets. What bothers me is the revenue sharing, when a team get 60 Mill or so a year and only spends 40 million for players.  OK I’ve always had a problem with people complaining about what another team spends on any certain player, or their total payroll is higher than another team. Here’s my opinion…. I think that ANY team could grow their fan base and income by doing the same thing the Yankees have done in the last 8-10 years. I hate hearing about “small market” teams not having a chance to sign any of these players. That is total crap. Just step up, get off your checkbook and write the check. As soon as a small market team would do this a lot of things would happen in turn to pay the players salary….most likely you will sell more tickets, more luxury boxes, jerseys, beer, hotdogs AT EVERY GAME. People would come to see your team more often. Right? Maybe some mid-Market teams should jump on the Smart Spending Train Take the Astros for example 03 Game Average in attendance 30,299 04 Attendance 38,121 (remember this is when they signed Clemens) It pays even if you have fair weather or band wagon fans, they buy tickets and food and beer etc Season Totals 03 2,454,241 04 3,087,872 Revenue In Million 03 121 04 128 05 155 06 173 07 184 08 193 Players Expenses 03 76 04 82 05 88 06 87 07 108 08 112 Wins to Player Cost Ratio 03 99 04 102 05 108 06 117 Value of Team 03 327 04 320 05 357 06 416 07 442 08 463
10.
Hard a rumor that next year UT is offering DKR stadium for all playoff games w/discounts ;D ;D
It is because no team plays there on Saturdays
11. Some Junior High team recently did this play.  I saw it on TV
12. This don’t surprise me.  Who wouldn’t want him?  Cowboys are even recruiting him to play QB for them.  .
13. What Joe Morgan is the greatest 2nd baseman and announcer who has ever lived. If you don't believe me just ask him. Morgan was horrible to listen to.  Miller has a good voice, but I don't find his commentary that great, and some of the stuff (Adrian Bell-TRAY) is annoying. Morgan is a know-it-all who is mostly wrong about stuff (for example, he admits that "statistics do not mean much" to him, and believes that a pitcher's wins are more indicative of quality than ERA). The new team is supposed to include Bobby Valentine and Orel Hershiser as commentators. Dan Shulman will be the new play by play guy for ESPN Sunday Night Baseball. I am tired of the "all former players/managers" announcing team. I want my announcing team to have at least one guy with the velvet voice... i.e. Vin Scully, Joe Castiglione, etc...
14. Offense=One that scores Defense=One that doesnt allow you to score
15. Pulling for the Rangers.  Anyone but NY.  Love to see Rangers Red WS match up.  Baseball would hate to see Reds vs Rays.  Two small market teams.
16.
Is it certified?
Yes
17. Both are correct about Tristar and beckett.  But Tristar as well as Steiners, Mounted Memories etc prices are inflated. Example Roger Clemens Baseball Tristar Price $279.00.  I paid $49.99. I have over 500 autographs including every living Hall of Famer on a single signed baseball.  I feel pretty confident in my pricing of the item.  If you have any others you want direction on feel free to ask.  But Value is what someone is willing to pay.
18. It is only as much as someone is willing to pay for it. But realistically speaking not much. Ron Cey signs very reliable thru the mail for free. Last private/public signing he did was $8 for cards $15.00 for everything else. If you dont want it donate it to charity
19. I predicted on Dec 14 09 that Feliz will hit 10 homeruns, 76 RBIS and .270 batting average.  I might have gave him too much credit.
20. I wonder what will happen to the Astros Farm System when Nolan Ryan buys the Rangers.  Ryan-Sanders who owns CC Hooks and Round Rock Express Nothing might happen at all.  Personally I think it would be too far from Arlington.  Especially since Rangers have theirs in Frisco.
