Coach Thompson must be cringing at the sight of this clueless defense. -

Yep. All thanks to the WO-S superintendent and his "agenda." -

aTmfan06, your good sportsmanship is appreciated. Thanks for always keeping the conversation civil and clean with WO-S fans every year we've played Bellville.

CS has impressed with with their offensive TEMPO. There is zero hesitation with the QB's first step and decision making. Their confidence shows all over the field which is also a sign of excellent coaching. WO-S can match them physically and athletically. If WO-S looses the in the mistake category, they lose the game. CS plays with smooth execution. They don't beat themselves. I'm glad we're playing them at full strength this time and I know our players want this game. A couple of successful trick plays would go a long way in helping us get the W. I hope Coach Dyer finds a little mad scientist within himself.

China Spring got us (WO-S) early. On our first drive, they blocked a punt and scooped it up for a quick TD. On the next drive we forced them to punt and dropped the return around the 10 yard line. CS's offense takes it in for another TD. Just like that WO-S dug a 14-0 hole in the 1st quarter. CS's QB was smooth running their offense. Abdullah was a tough RB to stop. Their offense was excellent at running their tempo. It was obvious to me from the first series of the game WO-S was out of sync because of several missing starters especially on offense. CS was an excellent team, but if we would have been 100% healthy I liked our chances to win this game though only by a small margin. We would have no doubt scored more than 22. This year's CS team is loaded with seniors and better than last year. WO-S has to play mustake-free football to win this one.

I was at that same concert. Great show.

I would not go so far as to say CS will get less than 3 first downs. Their QB is a play maker who will find creases and make things happen. Granted, WO-S will get the better of him and the CS offense, but that Bowden kid has the feet, smarts, and uptempo decision making to find yardage against any defense. They remind me some of the Cuero team and their QB Rodriguez who WO-S played in 2015. I am certain of this - CS will have a hard time slowing down the WO-S offense.

I noticed the same thing about the DEs in that game. Over pursuit caused them to get burned too many times.
-
What is his jersey number?

Where and when will this game be played?
-
It had to be #44 Carmello Jones. He is all around the football.

Checking in. More reading and less posting from me nowadays. Thanks to COVID-19, I've only seen WO-S in person at the the Vidor scrimmage, but thanks to texanlive and hudl I'm following closely. Last week's game against Liberty was sluggish, but much of that has to do with Liberty's style. It was the first time I didn't see improvement from the previous week's game (the bye week came at the right time). The INTs were discouraging, but overall Pop Terrell has increased his passing accuracy and decision making. Still a few too many dropped passes, but we have multiple receiving targets who have all looked good at times throughout the season. Two solid TBs gives us something even the 2016 team did not have. At offensive line, they've had to grow up fast (four new starters). So far, so good, but still room to grow. The defense has pounded every offense we've seen. #44 plays like a Tazmanian Devil - very tough to block. Our core of LBs are smooth. It's the strongest position on the D. Brown and Berry's experience is showing every Friday. Even so, it seems every game the defense has let their guard down for one big play by the opposing offense which has lead to points scored. They should have multiple shut-outs. That can't happen in the playoffs. One big play against a Jasper, Carthage, or any other good opponent could be the difference in the final score. With all of that said, I'm encouraged with everything I've seen and even the areas where we need upgrading are within our grasp to fix. They've played only six games and have shown me plenty to get excited about. And...oh, yeah...it helps to have an excellent kicker. This is the best WO-S team since 2016. Let's see how they finish.

It was not a struggle to beat Liberty. The WO-S turnovers kept the score closer than it should be, but this game was never in doubt. Liberty's game plan is to literally run out the clock for four quarters with that rugby-like offense of theirs. We started slow (2 punts in the 1st quarter), but winning against Liberty always looks ugly because of their style. WO-S has a bye week to sharpen their game, heal up some bruises, one final district contest, then the playoffs. Anyway, I know the coaching staff is not thinking about Carthage. Too much football to be played before that "if and when" match up occurs.

HJ is improved, but this was no contest. HJ had one big offensive play in the 1st quarter that set up their only TD. Other than that, WO-S dominated. 47 unanswered points. We also left more points on the field because of penalties, dropped passes, and the TO in the 1st Q, but this game was never in question even looking at the 7-7 halftime score.
