When will WOS lose another district game?
The fact is this. Y'all were lucky to avoid getting beat in your own house by the Cards last year. There wasn't a butt on the bleachers on either side until we got stopped on fourth down, driving for the lead in the final minute. So when you guys come on here, talking about shutting out every opponent in district, and wondering whether or not your're ever going to lose a district game... Well, it's motivating. Did you notice that you guys aren't even ranked this year? It's kinda like when everybody knows that some guy's fly is open but him. It's gonna be sweet.
WO-S was lucky? Did you win? So, what are you boasting about? Last year was as good a chance as BC has ever had at beating WO-S and you still couldn't do it. We don't care about being ranked. It's all about winning one game at a time, winning district, then talking one playoff game at a time. These are goals BC should aim for...not just beating WO-S. So when you come on here talking about "this is gonna be the year" and "you barely won last year", prove it on the field and the scoreboard. Until then, enjoy any little moral victory you can find. Your blowhard post is weak. -
Coach Van Meter and his teams always showed good sportsmanship and class when we played them.
I belive its a home the 1st yr Lamar the next .......
I doubt that WO-S would agree to play at Lamar again. When we played Nederland there in week zero, the team was stuck with a "locker room" the size of a closet. 'Left a bad taste with the coaches.
Wish my Cardinals could have played CS in the 4th round :'( That would have been a good game..
Without trying to take away anything from BC, it seems they caught a break playing CS not at 100%. It was stated that several players were either injured or had the flu that game. We saw what happened when they were healed up and motivated against WO-S. The best team won. No doubt about it. The same would've happened to BC in the 4th round.

This year if Wimberly wins it will be Friday at Wller Highs School. If Devine winsitwill be at Bastrop Memorial (not sure on day).
Where's Wiler?
I think he meant Waller.

Coldspring, you earned the victory last night. You were the better team and deserved the win. Your team was the best we played all year. Many people were saying the team that made the fewest mistakes would win. WO-S had more turnovers and it definitely affected the outcome. The only bad call by the refs was the waived off pass interference call in the end zone. They said it was uncatchable, but it WAS catchable because it hit our receiver in the hands on the way down. No matter, because even if WO-S scores on that drive and had fewer turnovers, Coldspring still wins. The score would've been closer, but Coldspring was the better team. We just couldn't stop the CS rushing attack in the second half. I'll be pulling for CS-S to win the whole thing. If they play like they did last night, they'll hold up the trophy in Dallas on Dec. 16. Congratulations to my Mustangs. After starting 1-3, you accomplished more than even most of our fans expected. We're proud of you. Great season!
I thought all you Mustangs liked playing this Point/Counter Point game. As long as you are doing the pushing you find a pleasure in it, when it comes back to you it seems to bother you and you change the rules. You seem to live in an exotic aurora as your past posts reflect, near an addiction. The truth is I and most other out of area posters are greeted on this site as if we had a defeating disease of some kind. No pun intended. I have rather a large advantage over you. Told you on an earlier post, I can pull the plug and never look back, besides I got my spite in. Good Bye, No Eulogy please. Better smite this one while you have a chance. Leave the board with my prediction: Coldspring 12 WOS 10
No...no...please don't leave. The audience is just beginning to enjoy your diatribes. Does the "defeating disease" you speak of have a parallel with the "HIV/AIDS cases in China?" More puns, pleeeasse!! Sorry to see you go. Your cluelessness was entertaining. Check your blood pressure on the way out. In a funny kind of way...you reminded me of that old man character that Dana Carvey once played on Saturday Night Live. I can hear him now..."In my day, we didn't have message boards and computers to talk for us...if we got mad, we would fight about it! And we liked it! We loved it!!" -
With my 200th post I will post about the same garble de gook that you post. Tell me just what does the number of new HIV/AIDS cases in China is soaring, state media said on Wednesday, citing health officials, with rates of infections among college studentsrising have to do with this football game. Did you say that? "Thanks for acknowledging, finally, that the stats don't mean anything" Then why do you read them? Then get all bent out of shape like some chicken runing around KFC wondering what is going on inside! By the way what is all thal BS at the bottom of your post, that you pride yourself with...they mean nothing!!!! Smite....
Bwaaahaahhahaaa...!! 92, this old man was choming at the bit to smite you. He's found a new toy to play with. Maybe he can enjoy himself by adding to the smite total of that bozo from BH. Stay outta the way...he's filled with "SMITE MIGHT." "HIV/AIDS cases in China"...some chicken runing around at KFC..." jnunn, keep it coming...your responses and misreads are so choice! Moderators, can we create a third option to the applaud/smite selection? Let's label it the "garble de gook" button. -
I can remember years past when WO-S made deep playoff runs (especially in the 80's) and you would see T-shirts and signs from fans that would say, "PNG supports the Mustangs"..."Nederland says "Go WO-S'", etc. This was also true in '82 when West Brook marched to the state title. WO-S fans showed up for that and PNG's playoff runs with signs of support. It would be cool to see and meet some of you from surrounding communities this Friday night in Humble. The stadium is easy to find and close to a busy intersection, lots of restaurants, and a large shopping mall. The weather is supposed to be "comfortably" cool, too. 'Hoping to see many of you from Orange County, Mid-county, and Jefferson County schools. Go Mustangs!
Easy WOS just trying to lighten it up a little, both teams can post all the stats they want but it will come down to how they match up on the field.
Hey CS 13-1...you're right again. Since I'm agreeing with you, it's OK to interpret that as..."All hail the Coldspring Oakhurst Trojans...2011 State Champions." So much for rooting for the underdog. :-[ -

Make sure you contact your coaching staff so that we don't both waste a trip up to Humble. I was worried about this game, too!
You're in good comical form tonight, 92. Make any sort of positive comment about WO-S or a correct an error from a CS fan and we get to hear the "All hail WO-S" bullcrap. Why don't you lighten up, Mr. CS 13-1... :) :D ;D -
This was so amateurish. The typos, incorrect name of our school, silly commentaries, and the "got lucky" remark about our 6'3" receiver against their "pee-wee" defender is hysterical. Thanks for the laugh, 92.
I like the fact that CS is now the underdog (in the minds of many posters) to mighty WOS...I think too many of you are discounting CS solely because they've struggled on offense the last 3 games...If the struggles continue then yes WOS can hang around and win, however, should CS get the kinks worked out I don't think WOS wins...Defense is too good! Let's be honest, I don't think the offense can do worse (redzone execution wise) and the defense has already proven it's good enough to win even the lowest scoring game... I'm starting to feel better and better about this game each day...The overall sentiment of this thread reminds me of last year in the days leading up to the Kirbyville game...Everyone seemed to be discounting CS left and right...Only after the game did most come around and start giving CS the credit they deserved... Really at this point CS isn't even looking for credit as they've got their eyes firmly on the ultimate goal of a state championship...I guess what I'm saying is I don't think the average CS fan would be shocked if WOS outplayed CS and won, however, I get the feeling that if CS wins many WOS fans would be sitting around trying to figure out just how their team full of great athletes (and all it's history, NFL players, track championships, etc) could get beat by a little one dimensional team from San Jacinto Co...
No, sir. CS is the defending state finalist...undefeated...top-ranked...and with bigger expectations on their shoulders since the beginning of the season. WO-S is more of the surprise guest at this ball. We fit the underdog role. CS was/still is expected to get back to to the title game. The glass slipper feels kinda nice for a change. -
OH, I am shocked! WOS wins a poll on this board.....REALLY? ::) ::) ::)
You have the most extreme case of hate envy I have ever seen. Is that a common symptom among midget life forms?

Wow...I wake up this morning to check the threads and already 10 pages on this topic! And it's only Sunday. Maybe this one can break the longest thread record on setx. A couple of facts about this game jump out at me. Coldspring has not played a team as good as WO-S all season. With that said, I DO NOT believe WO-S is invincible...and the same for Coldspring. The level of play WO-S has ascended to is light years better than what they produced prior to the Silsbee game five weeks ago. I like the fact that Coldspring is a one-dimensional team (run-oriented). WO-S' defense has always been built to stop the run first. Coldspring is in for a serious challenge. If the Mustangs eliminate turnovers and cut down on penalties, I like our chances to advance. -
Yup. It's encouraging to see WO-S playing their best football of the season right now. Our offense has finally caught up to the play of our defense. Gas, you said earlier this year that we've usually played well to start a season, then have that one bad game late in the year when it hurts us most (in the playoffs). Well, we seem to have benefitted from starting slow and getting better as the season progressed. It's not the formula we're used to, but I'll take it. Our OC still makes me nervous, but the execution on offense has been excellent the last few weeks. We're not seeing the illegal procedures, fumbled snaps, and communication gaps on offense like we saw most of the year. Salter is playing with confidence. The offensive line is driving people backwards. With Renfro coming back next week (so I hear) we'll be 100%. It's been fun watching this team strive to their potential.

WOS vs Bullard Sat. 2pm Woodforrest stadium, The Woodlands
griff replied to kicker's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Never even heard of Bullard until last week. Don't know a thing about these guys, other than this is their 1st ever play-off run. Looks as if they run the spread offense. Shouldn't be a problem defending these guys. I look for the Chain Gang to continue their dominance and the BIG 'O' MACHINE to continue scoring at will. WO-S by 30 +. Looking forward to seeing #13 back on the field soon!
So, just because they run a spread offense you assume, "Shouldn't be a problem defending these guys." Have you seen Bullard play? No respect for your opponent is what gets you beat. I prefer to find out more about the team we're playing and NEVER brushing aside another team's potential, especially one we know nothing about. -
West Orange-Stark vs. Columbus Game Thread/WOS advances 52-9

It's as if the Columbus coach told his players BEFORE the game, "You can't win, so go out there and do whatever you want."
