West Orange-Stark vs. Kirbyville Game Thread/WO-S wins!
griff replied to WOSgrad's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Yeah...Mr. Buddy, what exactly did you mean by that? If you meant that the "apology" is a favorable showing on the field after the debacle against Giddings last week, then I get your point. But, if you're referring to the tragedy of last year, that is an uncalled for comment and Kirbyville has nothing to apologize for. Please clarify. -

In another thread you said the problem was play calling. Which one is it? I can't keep up with what you claim the problem is COACH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LMAO!! Yes td, skip hitting the bottle much too frequent, can't remember what he says from day to day.
Skip...the new "Coop" for AAW. ;D
Hey Griff, hope that crow taste pretty good. However, you are right they didn't lose by 14 like I predicted; they lost by 8.........not bad a prediction from way over here huh?.......lol
There is no crow to be served...I didn't (and never do) make predictions on games. The fact is you simply picked WO-S to lose only out of spite. Anyone can do that, smart guy. Go ahead and pick BC to beat WO-S by 21.
Thompson should take all the responsability for the team he puts on the field period, then handle your team behind closed doors, and it's always WE when speaking to the press.
That's the best perspective I've seen on this so far. I'm with you.
It's based on his annual dissing of WO-S. You see, this BC follower lives in North Carolina, so he knows all there is to know about the Mustangs first hand. ::)
Dang, dude! The OP asked for predictions, and 10 of 11 said WOS. So what are you all riled up about? Doesn't the guy have a right to answer with his thoughts? The purpose of this particular thread was "predictions", correct? Are only the ones picking WOS allowed? Why wern't the "basis" for the WOS predictions called out too?
Who's riled up? Relax, dude. You don't know the history behind this guy and WO-S, so you're jumping to the wrong conclusion. You're out of the loop on this one, so just sit it out, OK?

West Brook's Redd wins appeal to UIL, declared eligible
griff replied to AggiesAreWe's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Titan Power, 86 Hawk, and WeedBeGone...my comments were directly to AggiesAreWe. He and I have a history of exchanging private messages on matters such as these. I understand that the Redd kid's situation has some newsworthiness, however, the original intent of my initial post was to point out the fact that AAW goes out of his way to highlight ANYTHING and EVERYTHING negative about WO-S, whether it be petty or something in the news. Furthermore, he tries to pretend that he's just a nice guy who means no harm. I didn't expect you or others outside of WO-S to catch it, but td did, as well as many other WO-S faithful. Again, the story itself was not the issue to me, but rather the intent behind the person who brought it up. -
[Hidden Content] "Redd, both of his parents, Oscar and Dexterlene Redd, and Stump testified on his behalf along with two assistant principals. Redd said West Orange-Stark head coach Cornel Thompson was there to testify against him and was accompanied by West Orange-Stark principal Hutcherson Hill and a coach from Channelview. Redd said Thompson told the committee that he heard from several students at WO-S that Redd transferred because he thought his talents would be better utilized playing football at West Brook." Read more: [Hidden Content]#ixzz1XtDj14Lk
It's funny how you're always in the middle of poking a needle at WO-S. You try so hard to look like you have no dog in this fight, but we know better. It's a subtle obsession of yours. Coop has been absent for you to ridicule, but it doesn't matter...the jabs keep coming. 'Just couldn't wait to start this one, huh? -
I would've taken one more shot to run on 3rd and 5, but we were well within FG range. 'Still can't believe it went wide left from that close. Ouch!
this fan, for one, doesnt think the walls are coming down but i do have a few concerns... its not because we lost or how much we lost by but instead how we lost.
As for HOW we lost...I think that had more to do with our offense in the second half than any defensive letdown. JT is no longer with us, I know, and he could have made a difference by himself on defending some completions by Nederland. But, the offense made too many unforced errors - mainly with bad snaps and procedure penalties. That kept us from moving the chains and scoring more points in the third and forth quarters. We got out of sync. That will be corrected in time. Eventually, our players will have run this new offense so much in practice and games that their confidence and execution will become easier. Right now, that's what they need most...repetition. They'll get there. We've got to be patient about this.
Nederland has one less championship than WOS. As far as calls go, they go both ways and believe me WOS has benefited from favorable calls plenty.
It's easy to interpret that, combined with other past comments from you, as "WO-S has gotten more calls in their favor than Nederland ever did"...and that "Nederland would've won more games against WO-S if not for the refs." I guess we can lump your statement into the "Dan Hooks paid the refs" conspiracy hallucination that exists over there. It is the stupidist thing that you guys hold onto. Put down the yellow and black tinted glasses to see the ways things really are instead of ONLY seeing a coach running on the field hollering at the refs and think your team is a victim of "Hooks Hypnotism". It's as hilarious as it is ridiculous. At Friday's game, the worst call of the night (IMO) was when the ref blew the whistle when WO-S was returning a kickoff. There was no reason to do that. The receiver didn't call for a fair catch. This was a no brainer...not even a judgment call. I learned first hand that the ref admitted to the WO-S HC that he made a mistake. These things just happen. They shouldn't, but they do. Officiating always involves mistakes, oversight, and bad calls during the course of ANY football game, especially in the high school ranks. It truly does work both ways, but bigdog, I don't think you and at least of few other Ned fans really believe that when it comes to these two teams' history against each other, and it's just silly. I've seen every game between Nederland and WO-S since 1978. Yes, calls go both ways, and believe me Nederland has benefitted from lots of 'em. These things just happen.
