I agree. Gotta admire his guts for taking on a major opponent.

In your dreams... Thompson will retire at WO-S, whether it's in his current position or as the next WO-S HC. It doesn't matter if his name is "floating around" as a successor to Neuman. That rumor mill is barber shop fodder started by people who do not know Coach T. Forget it. It ain't gonna happen.

He's gone as far as he can with Nederland, which is saying alot. He inherited an awful program and made a winner out of it. I think Nederland's community support rivals LaMarque's, but the overall program will give him more to work with - better lower level programs, more speed, better skill position players, etc. On the flip side, he'll be centered in a town that will be quick to turn on him if he doesn't make it to the state title game within two years.

Well, I'm happy to analyze and confirm what I've said and to once again point out how wrong and ridiculous you are. 1) BH teams were only MODESTLY good after the '99 season...true. 2) You have an inflated opinion of BH football…true. 3) They did not have as much talent as Beaumont Central the year they lost to them in the playoffs...true. 4) At least ONE of BH’s losses to Kirbyville could have gone either way…true. 5) BH does not have the personnel to be at or near the top of their district EVERY YEAR…true. 6) BHFAN and bh89-2 have never played football…sorry, I didn’t know you two had a Playstation and a John Madden game. ;D ;D ;D As for Coach Price, it says a lot for the man if he a finalist for the Lake Travis job. Lake Travis is a well respected school. At this stage in the hiring process, I'm sure they've done their homework by checking into Price's background, talked to his coaching peers, BH school officials, etc. Even if you don't like him, did you ever think that maybe they know more about the man than you do? A lot of coaches have been dismissed from consideration for the Lake Travis job, but if Coach Price is still in the hunt, then that speaks highly of him and your opinion is in the minority. If he goes to Lake Travis, he will have a better talent base to work with and might even bring home a state title. It seems that anything short of winning a state title is all that impresses you (the same way you look at WO-S). Your quotes… 1) “You think WO-S is going to state every yearâ€â€¦no matter how many times I correct you on this, you keep bringing it up. I have NEVER said WO-S is going to state, and I have readily admitted when another team is better than us. Dude, for once in your life, can you get this one right? If you want, go back and read my history of posts. I never said it, and I don’t think it. 2) “Keep preaching on the radioâ€â€¦this one comes from left field. You may have checked with Coop on this one, but don’t depend on what he says. I’ve only met him twice. He barely knows me. You’re totally off. It's really no big deal, but I happen to know a little more about you and your fishing buddy than either one of you know about me. On issues of football, it’s obvious MANY people on this message board know more about the game and coaching than you. Like I’ve said before, you and Jody should stick to fishing or find another hobby that doesn’t make you look so ridiculous.

Oldman, you're debating someone who has an inflated opinion of how good BH really was over the last few years. BH had SOME success since '99, but they really were only a modestly good team over that span. They gave a great effort in the playoff loss to Beaumont Central, and many were surprised that BH took them to the wire, but talent eventually won that game. BH followers should have been impressed with what Price and his staff brought to that game. The Kirbyville losses (at least ONE of them) could have gone either way. BH has not established themselves as a program (at least not yet) that has the personnel to be at or near the top of their district EVERY year, but somehow in the minds of these two armchair QBs they just can't believe it. Keep in mind, BHFAN and bh89-2 did not play football, but they are the "experts" behind the keyboard. If Price is a finalist for the Lake Travis job, which is an attractive job that many have applied for, then that speaks a high compliment for the man.

I believe the answer to that is obvious. Exactly. Interesting that you chose the word "small" in referring to bh89-2. ;D ;D ;D It's good to see that BH followers (along with most everyone else here) see these two for who they are. They have never played the game and don't understand the game, especially bh89-2. They have no idea how ridiculous they look (based on their history of posts on this and other sites). Their disdain for certain people and programs cloud any sensible reasoning they could potentially have. It's like dealing with a couple of two-year olds.
-
Right, you're never guilty of getting off topic, are you BHFAN? : Yeah, what started out as a harmless joke toward BH has turned into Griff vs. The Ambiguously Gay Duo. ;D ;D ;D

Look who else got riled up. Jody, this is hysterically funny. YOU, of all people, talking about size? Most people know you never played football, because even at Barbers Hill they have a height limit. You have to at least break the five foot marker. It must have been sad all those years that you were denied a ride on the bumper cars at the town carnival. You're still a wee little man, aren't you? ;D ;D ;D

You're making me feel like Ned Beatty in the movie "Deliverance". :-\ I've told you before that I'm a happily married man. You'll need to find your pleasure somewhere else. Take a stroll down the Trinity River and listen for the banjo music. That's where you'll find what you're looking for.

:D Dude, you really don't know me from Adam. I've said very little on this message board this year, but when I make one little light-hearted remark about your team...just ONE...you come back with the worn-out and always predictable "...but your team didn't win a state championship." That is too funny. So who's really riled up? Have you found one instance where I said ANYTHING about our team winning state? : Thought so. By the way...I've never hated BH. Your team was never on my radar until you and your buddy made so much noise. I just enjoy pointing out the idiocy of you two. Look forward to next year's scrimmage whipping. I'm sure you'll overlook the obvious again and make some silly claim like "BH won the line of scrimmage" while your team gets shut out and manhandled all over again. You are a riot! ;D ;D ;D

Here's another example of your cluelessness. When did I ever say we would or should win a state title? Can you site one example? You and Jody need clinical treatment for your "WO-S Derrangement Syndrome." Maybe there's a bacteria strain caused by something in the Trinity River. This may be where the "Hater Aid" originates. I make one little fun jab at your team and you respond with "Waaa...waaa...but your team didn't win a state title this year." Your high expectations are flattering, especially from a "westerner" like yourself. I was just happy to see our young group of sophomores and juniors sweep district and go three rounds deep. They had a great year, but in your book it's not good enough without winning state. : Man, you must be in a deep depression over the Barbers Hill season. When will you ever realize that I (and most WO-S fans) don't expect a state championship every year...we DREAM for one, but we don't EXPECT it. Do you understand the difference? There are very few Southlake Carrolls and LaMarques in this world. If we ever do drop to 2A, those scrimmage beatings will look even more ridiculous. Remember what Coach Price was quoted as saying after this year's scrimmage..."We're not as good as WO-S." Swallow that. EAST SIDE rules! :D
-
Won't happen. Don't you think their annual whipping from the WO-S scrimmage is enough? ;D ;D ;D You can't put that saddle on a Mustang stampede or a busting Bronco!
-
Funny. Good one, BirdMan.
-
And as long as you're breathing, you'll hate WO-S...blah, blah, blah. : I got knews for you, Mr. #1 WO-S hater. This is not 2003. Get over it. We were overrated as the #1 team beginning the season THAT year. THIS year, we started lots of juniors and sophomores, we weren't even picked to win our district, but we made it to the 3rd round of the playoffs. That's not overrated, that's over-ACHIEVING.

Man, I couldn't be happier for the Lumberton football team, coaches, school, and community. It's nice to see some new blood from SETX making some serious noise in the playoffs. You all have opened some eyes across the state. Beating LaMarque!!! WOW! This WO-S fan is rooting for you all the way. Keep it going! All the "extra" Lumberton posts on this board shouldn't bother anyone. You guys have every reason to be spilling over with enthusiam.

Could WOS and Kirbyville see each other in the playoffs?

IF it's happens, maybe the coaches can arrange a local doubleheader. -
WO-S vs. #1 Giddings Predictions?/GAME TIME CHANGE
griff replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
The "bh89-2 bitterness" still doesn't make for accurate predictions. Your streak of wrong predicitions about WO-S continues. I love it. When are you going to give it up, man? -

Wishful thinking, of course. If you can't beat 'em, root against 'em, right Jody? -

Wait a minute...WO-S makes both extra points and kicks a FG? Did we find a kicker this week? Someone fill me in. -

We should have won that game against Bay City. -
**Bay City 15 WO-S 12 FINAL/COMMENTS**
griff replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
WO-S had MANY chances to score more points. Of course, playcalling on offense could have been better...again. However, we didn't execute at times, too, so it wasn't ONLY the playcalling that held us back. The INT in the endzone, the fumbled handoff in the red zone, and the missed conversions on fourth down (3 or 4 of them) shot us in the foot. The offense showed signs of their youth tonight, but we still should have won the game. We played well enough to win against a strong 4A opponent, so I feel good about our chances in district. By the end of the season, our offense will be ready for the playoffs (let's just hope the playcalling will improve). The last two weeks of playing in wet field conditions hasn't helped our progress, but we'll eventually get to where we need to be. The defense was terrific against an offense that has so far scored a lot of points. Holding them to 15 and limiting their big plays was impressive. In the end, the "woulda coulda shoulda" doesn't matter. We lost. Congratulations to Bay City. You earned this victory. -
Hmmm...did Silsbee receive some Jasper player transfers?
