Congratulations to BH for being the only team in the state who moved up one classification and is still undefeated. That's impressive! I saw some highlights of Galena Park on Channel 13 (Houston) this weekend. Granted, it was only a few highlights, but they look to have a very athletic backfield. BH got a nice plug in prime time about playing GP this week. I hope BH can finish the job. Well wishes to the Eagles.

22-4A is surprisingly down this year. Nederland, PNG, and especially Ozen are not close to the teams they've fielded in the last 10 years. Still, this district, even in a rare down year, is not as bad as 21-4A. I think BH can compete with Central, but I believe Central would win in a close score. Dayton is hands down better than BH. Beyond those two teams, BH could possibly win out in 22-4A.

If only we still played for ONE state champion, then Gilmer, WO-S, Giddings, Wimberley, and Cuero would all be in the same tournament. At least WO-S will be paired in the same group as Giddings, Cuero, and Wimberley. There's a chance we could meet two of those three.

Silsbee is every bit as good as I expected they would be. Please rememeber that almost all of the blowout predictions were made by non-WO-S posters. I'm not surprised by the outcome. Silsbee's team definitely has my respect, both now and before the game was played. I'm really suprised at the talk of no handshakes during the coin toss. That is totally unlike WO-S. If this truly did occur, the coaches will address this. The WO-S coaches are serious and strict about instilling good sportsmanship in their team. It's always been that way. Enjoyed meeting SilsbeeD, AggiesAreWe, and SHS 84 last night. Y'all are good people. I hope to see the Tigers make a deep run in the playoffs. The WO-S faithful will be pulling for you.

Stans92, you may not have liked mustang's response, but to say Silsbee is "disrespectful" is silly. There's no disrespect intended on their part. Homecoming has NOT always been about chosing a weak opponent. There was a time when homecoming was every school's last home game of the year. Several schools still choose it that way. Other factors are also considered, but it has never been solely based on an "easy win". My senior season at WO-S we played Bmt. French for homecoming, our last home game of the season...and we lost. In fact, that loss kept us from making the playoffs and French went on to win a share of the state title. French beat us bad the year before, but that didn't keep us from maintaining our tradition (at that time) of making homecoming the season's final home game.
