1. I wish he was not going both ways like he does.  But I can understand how hard it must be for the coaches to sit him and rest him. QB is brand new for him.  First time for him to run it since PeeWee (and he was mostly RB even there).  He seems to be more comfortable every week.  As to the game prediction: Last year Kville put a Beatdown on the Pirates that I will never forget (even if it was hard to see from my seats ;).  I do not expect that outcome again but I remember.  I think the Pirates will win by 14
2. He is a Junior.  And he is a difference maker on both sides of the ball!
3. Does anyone have the Game Stats?
4.
My prayers are with Daniel for a good recovery. I think he'll be fine. He's a great kid.
I really hate to hear about how serious the injury was.  Good Luck to the Stangs this year.  I hope Vidor can keep improving and have a solid season.
5. What I saw: It was just a scrimmage.  No one should overreact.  No returns on rushing on Special Teams.  Both Special Teams had some high points and some low points.  But had they allowed returns you would think Advantage to WOS.  No enforcement of any penalties.  Just call the Penalty and not mark off the yardage.  This was not a big deal as both sides were helped and hurt by this.  But WOS benefited slightly more in the modified format tonight. Starters vs Subs:  I can only comment on the Vidor side.  I do not think that Vidor made any subs (other than situational) in the 1st half.  In the 2nd half, they played more backups on both sides of the ball.  But it was not like they sat all the starters for the whole 2nd half.  But there were some rotations.  Vidor QBs:  I am very interested in what others thought of the rotation and both of their play.  They are different.  Both of them appear to be Full-Time Defensive Players.  I liked much of what I saw from both of them.  Probably the most encouraging thing for Vidor in the first 3 quarters is that IIRC we were +1 in Turnover department (with no turnovers from Vidor).  The 2 late turnovers were critical.  One fumble inside the 5 yard line and an interception inside the Red Zone returned 60+ yards were both critical to the outcome. Hardest Hit of the Night might have been on the 40 yard QB keeper in the 4th when he had to take out the Umpire who couldn't get out of the way.  I am so glad no one stepped on him as everyone ran by and hope that he was not seriously hurt.
6. Does anyone know if they break the likely tie by H2H, play-in, or coin toss?
7. I just wanted to see how close I am to you... ;)
8. I realize that it is the swing and not the bat, but the Easton Stealth last year made a huge difference last year.  I watched as my 8 yr old played around the area all last year.  I never bought into the hype until it was too late.  The bat was that much hotter than anything else.  JMHO.
9. New Indian: You are not going to get that cooler into many 7th grade games around here.  Most stadiums have someone with a gun to ask you to follow the rules at Jr High Games.
10. Vidor wins 28-24.....maybe speaking with my heart but Vidor is dangerous....and LCM is really good.
11. I was simply shocked at how much better our DBs looked this week compared to the last 2.  I do think that Nederland may not have been quite as strong as our other opponents (and maybe I am wrong--no offense intented) but our DBs were actually playing decent.  But do not count Nederland out yet.  They will keep improving as they get healthier.  But tonight Vidor won the game on all fronts.  And I would have to agree with some of the NED posters, that Vidor won the coaching battle tonight as well.  I know some of those calls could have worked out differently, but I did not understand them at all. Good Luck Dogs going forward....and Congrats to Pirate Players...Great Game!
12. Yes, Bmt has two teams in the Jr Division.  Neither of them made the Top Ten (this week).  There are actually 17 teams IIRC.
13. I agree Scalp Em.  I posted such in the Power Rankings Thread.  But I was hoping for some criticism.
14. 1 WOS 2 Lum-Red 3 Ned White 4 Ned Black 5 PNG White 6 Kountz 7 LUM White 8 PNG Grey 9 Vidor White 10 Tie  Vidor Black and Ned Gold Again, these are just my opions...nothing but respect intended for all the teams.  This week could be very interesting as my #2 and #3 teams play in Nederland.  Also interested in PNG Grey agains Nederland Black.  Good Luck to all the teams.
15.

Well... who was it and what was the score?
WOS and Silsbee. WOS won
It was not that close.  It was not a battle of two competitive teams.  This year Lonestar may have more talent in the Jr Division.  I know that in the past Deweyville SRs have been able to beat the STJFL champions, but as a general rule (evidence by last year's Jr game in Silsbee), the STJFL teams are stonger.
16. Ok...I will bite.  I was much more checked in last year, but it doesn't hurt to try.  (No disrespect meant to anyone). The Top 4 WOS Lum-Red Ned White Ned Black It is hard to know exactly how these teams measure to each other so early.  However, I would put WOS on top just based on the tradition of their JR program.  Ned White is big, fast, and skilled.  I have not seen the other 2 teams. The Next 4 PNG White LUM White Kountz PNG Grey And it is very possible that you are looking at your 8 playoff teams right there.  Maybe I will check back in in a few weeks to see how I did.  Good Luck to all the Teams!
17.

Texas High is on their own 9, great punt by Jacob Jeanise!!
kicking game is looking good!
You jinxed us!!!!!!!    ;)
18. I am sad to report that our State Tournament performance in Irving was not what we hoped for.  We lost our first two games 18-12 and 24-23.  I am still proud of those boys, but wish we could have done better in representing the Golden Triangle.
19. Orange beat Vidor Gold on Wednesday to advance to the Thursday.  Orange came out strong in Game 1.  I think they were ahead 5-1 after 1.  I do not think that they ever trailed, but I do think we came back and tied it up a couple of times.  They won 15-11.  And forced a second game.  Vidor was able to get out to a very good start in Game 2 and managed to hold on to get the win 10-6.  There was some great baseball played by both teams. Kudos to all the boys, coaches, and fans that made the tournament a success.  And thanks to LD an the entire "field crew" who made the tournament possible. I hope we will represent the Golden Triangle well in Dallas next week.
20. Congrats to Colin and Big Pop (with an a or a y) who both went yard tonight. I thought Twin County was going to get the win, but hats off to Orange on a great comeback.  Vidor vs Orange tommorow in the Semi-Final game.  Either team could win.  I just hope the weather continues to cooperate.  We tarped the field tonight, expecting the worst.
21. If I am talking to someone from TC, I am taking TC over Orange and Vidor over Vidor.  If I am talking to someone from Orange, then I am taking Orange over TC and Vidor over Vidor.  ;) But I gave Orange the edge in the Pre-Tourney Rankings.  Both Orange and TC hit the ball very well last night.  I think the team that can keep hitting the longest tonight will win.  It is just hard to keep the bats rocking for 6 full innings.  I think it will be a good game.  But then again I thought Orange vs Groves last night would have been much closer than it was.
22. Lazeek...what a great prediction. But let's look a little further back.  How does your pre-tournament rankings look right now.  I think my top 4 teams are still alive.  Although I had Orange ahead of Vidor 2. But TC and Orange looked very good tonight.  There are nothing but solid teams left.
23. Monday will highlight rematches of two of the best games on Saturday. Groves A vs Orange A Twin County A  vs  Orange B And while these two games should be very good, I have to question why the brackets don't switch to avoid rematches in Round 3.  Also, I want everyone to know that Vidor has no control over who is Umpiring.  The Umpires are chosen by the PONY Directors. Good Luck to Everyone who is left.  And kudos to TC who whipped us for 2 innings (I am just glad that we got to play three more  ;))
24. Vidor #1 advances in the first game. TC #1 had a exciting come from behind victory in Game 2. Then the game of the day was Groves#1 over Orange #1.  Extra innings and in the end, it was one run game.  And thank heavens the picther turned out to be ok and did not need to go to hospital after being checked out by the Paramedics. Vidor #2 gets the win in the last game. Tommorow's Games: 1:30 Groves #2  vs  Orange #2 3:30 Orange #1  vs  TC #2 5:30 Vidor #1    vs  TC #1 7:30 Groves #1  vs  Vidor #2 Good Luck to Everyone Tommorow.
25. I drove by the field and it looks amazing.  I don't know everybody who must have worked all day on it literally so I better not name any names.  But let's just hope for no rain tonight.  If it doesnt rain hard, conditions will be perfect.
