Who ya pick in this one?  Everyone knows what the Hornets have in Twine. What will G-town have this season?

That's good for the hornet defense.  Not a knock on the other two teams, but I don't think they're real powerhouses this season.  Guess next week will tell how much the defense has improved.

They did dominate anahuac...newton scrimmage was a different story.  The cougars will get back to work and will be ready for the season opener against center.  Good Luck to all for a great season.

It looks like a long year for Anahuac from what I saw against Buna. I'm sure they'll improve though.

For Hemphill to be better, their defense will have to improve by not giving up 50 plus average a game. Who besides Twine do they have in the offensive backfield?

Twine can't do it alone and it doesn't appear that he's going to get much help if the subvarsity teams weren't very good...just sayin...

So will Coach Franklin's kids take their talents to Kountze?  Will Buna's move to 3A have any impact in that decision?

I didn't know if the 4.5 was electronic timing or hand-held...figure hand-held would be much faster.  As far as defense getting better, I don't see it.  How good were the hornet sub-varsity teams?

2A long jump is scheduled for 9am Friday..Twine would be able to make it back in time for the game. As far as him not throwing that hard and has control problems, give me a break. The kid is only a Soph.. Alot of us get better with age, but I don't think many of us could stretch the truth as far as slingin the ball at 86 plus mph. Much less hit it.

Overconfidence on the part of some will even the playing field..especially if the hornets are able keep the games close.  Ya never know, this could be an upset in the making.

The hornet batters might be blinded by all the bleached out hair that some of the cougars are sporting about.

Who do ya start in game 1 in a 2 outta 3 series?  If the rain doesn't hold off and teams have to play 1 game to decide who moves to the next round, which team has the advantage...Buna or Hemphill?

Didn't the Lions show improvement on the field until the injury bug came calling? Injuries are part of the game, but they really hurt a team when key players are out. I also thought Kountze won the district track meet this year...or am I wrong on that? I believe Coach Dale has the program heading in the right direction...give the guy a chance.

I didn't see Nicole Casper's name on the list, unless I overlooked it. A 2x defending State Champion 2A Pole Vaulter that is the front runner to bring home another championship, will be competing in her 4th State Track and Field Championship.
