  1. I think if you had true football capitalism it would not go the way you think it would go lol The process is imperfect because its based on human judgement which is imperfect and thats not taking into account the process where humans willfully aren't honest on the forms....BUT based on the rules today that opens the door for circumvention of the rules in place. If I were in charge I'd try to get rid of judgment as much as possible and make it black and white...no more transferring for athletic purposes questions on the form..its residency and residency alone...BUT I'd have more robust compliance arm of the UIL to check into residency questions and not leave that to the schools... The only question is..where do I come up with the money to pay the salaries of this compliance arm

  3. I guess the question would be if all the coaches are suspended wouldn't that hurt the kids and potentially other programs?
  4. I dont think there's ever been a ground swell at the 4A level to have it and certainly not below that
  5. It'll be before the season....just dont know when yet
  6. A tale as old as time
  7. What evidence of recruiting is out there that the UIL has? If someone has it I'm sure they'd be happy to take it and make an example of someone. If the kids that go there have clean PAPFs the UIL's not going to intervene unless there's evidence of recruiting...the only time I can recall a kid transferring to SOC and there actually being a hearing was the kid from Corsicana who signed with A&M and he was cleared....
  8. Brayden White committed to Stanford and Michael Weekes...I believe Weekes has a McNeese offer
  9. It could for sure..
  10. I wouldnt mind seeing it in an open division at this point....I doubt most private schools would be interested
  11. I'd fascinated by an open division, the issue I think is you create an open division now you gotta let more private schools in...Just my guess at least
  12. I think what you are pointing to is a system that absolutely has flaws and isnt perfect...the question remains how do you build a system in today's environment where open enrollment and charters exist and you dont punish kids who move legitimately AND would also hold up to inevitable court challenges..
  13. Mansfield could have checked the box on Udom and a hearing could have been scheduled, but they did not check the box for whatever reason...thats the process as it exists today..... A lot of the kids SOC gets from out of their attendance zone enroll as freshmen..they 365 then they have established residency and are eligible as sophomores
  14. You have to regulate common sense and put guidelines in place because someone is going to line step....and the minute they do you better have your ducks in a row to prevent a lawsuit as a organization..now if something happens and the school wasnt following the guidelines its the school butt on the line and not yours....
  15. We just recorded it today...will be released at noon tomorrow
  16. The select division concept intrigues me
  17. Hardin's just a tough matchup....if Golightly is eligible at Troup I might give them the edge over Hardin but thats TBD
  18. Thats tough Post from the supt As many of you know, we have been looking forward to opening our new Lion Stadium this football season. Today, we received disappointing news regarding the final phase of the project. The manufacturer of the grandstands informed us today that, due to unforeseen circumstances, they will not be able to complete and deliver the grandstands in time for the 2026 football season. While this is certainly disappointing, we are grateful for the tremendous progress that has been made and remain committed to seeing the project through to completion. Although we won’t be playing in the new stadium this season, we are looking forward to another exciting year of Lion football in our current stadium. Our students, coaches, band, cheerleaders, drill team, and fans will continue to make Friday nights something special.
  19. We cant compare games to practice...games are much easier and less strenuous than practice....I was told by an AT that 95% of heat related issues take place during practice. Games have built in breaks much moreso than practice If we are talking about varsity football games start in the evening....WGBT won't be an issue at 7pm if its an issue for freshman/JV games then push start time back a bit or play Sat AM the hand wringing is typical anytime something new happens...coaches will adapt and adjust just fine
