  1. That used to be a rule but I dont believe it is any longer
  2. Kids do it for instagram etc....its not a competitive thing its a fashion/disrespect thing that started in peewee ball and made its way to HS
  3. There are a lot more open enrollment ISDs than you think that are out there as well....Dallas ISD is far from unique in that regard I do believe TX should consider doing like Louisiana and creating classifications and seperating out open enrollment ISD's vs non-open enrollment ISD's
  4. Because thats an ISD decision, PNG could tomorrow go open enrollment if they choose to.
  5. I mean you cant really do that because what if the other team wears white or has the same team colors as you? Refs dont need to be fashion police IMO
  6. I'm not the world's biggest fan of open enrollment myself, but we can thank the Texas legislature for that along with charter schools et al..it is what it is and the UIL does the best they can with the resources alloted. The kids that play for SOC are all eligible under UIL rules, the open enrollment/recruiting conversation to me is just as moot IMO as SOC people complaining about some close calls that didnt go their way
  7. It was a Fort Worth crew, SOC uses Dallas, it wasn't SOC's home chapter. Coach Todd said he agreed to the crew and he owned that, he admitted if he knew there was an official who worked in Port Neches he likely wouldn't have agreed to the crew (I wouldn't have either) thats not to say it automatically makes them a bad crew or a bad official but there's optics and its probably not fair to put him in that spot. Coach Todd did say he didnt agree w/the PI call and I wouldn't expect him to, its a close call that went against his team, no coach will be happy about it, its just the nature of the game
  8. Probably shoulda been defensive holding, but still woulda resulted in 1/2 the distance and an automatic 1st down
  9. They still are..they are the Mecca because of the late 60's/early 70s not now
  10. I think it was more of a perfectly executed onside kick....not sure a lot of teams would have been ready for an onside there...it was a gamble and a great call by Coach Joseph but I dont think it was poor coaching from SOC
  11. Full stop, I picked PNG to win because of the trenches and they were better team IMO, the bad DPI call shouldn't take away from their win
  12. That was a pretty bad DPI...they let a LOT worse go both ways today and then how late the flag was....it was pretty bad IMO
  13. That was a real gift DPI....didnt see much there
  14. When they've run man they've really struggled
  15. I've watched them all year, they've had issues in coverage not nearly as good on the back end as last year
  16. They simply aren't near as good as they were last year...they can't cover as well in man IMO...been burned too many times
  17. Danger zone for PNG here....that drop looms really large
  18. SOC had zero first downs in the first half last week and still managed to be tied 10-10 lol
  19. SOC's been a second half team all year, you could argue PNG outplayed them in the first half and they are still losing...thats concerning if I'm a PNG fan
  20. Sophomore P5 talent is quite a bit different than senior P5 talent in terms of expeirence, big game execution etc....most of the SOC sophomores who are P5 guys are still behind seniors who are borderline FCS/D2 guys
  21. SOC's not NEAR as loaded talent wise as they were a year ago...most of the P5 talent are underclassmen...
  22. A great read from one of our young reporters Carter Yates [Hidden Content]
  23. I believe they'll open the lots and stadium at 930....but cars will be lined up at each entrance waiting to get in
  24. This is kind of my assesment, the defense for PNG 2023 is similar to 2022 if there is a step back its minimal but the offense is much better and explosive especially in the passing game
