This is a fun thread.....its incredibly difficult to win a state title in Texas, especially in the larger classes....JMO but you can win a state title with elite players and mediocre coaching...but I dont believe you can win it with mediocre players and elite coaching....I do think elite coaching and development can turn mediocre players into good players and then maybe you've got a shot...but the one constant IMO is you better have the Jimmy's and Joe's

On paper Silsbee should be really good.....I think the Region III champion will come out of 9-4A D2

Couldn't be more thrilled for Jasper or Kendrick...Coach Crum had me fired up when he made his introductory remarks

Its money, its facilities, its alignment of the program, its teaching fields/loads for coordinators, its overall campus setup...so much goes into it...for example its tough to expect anyone to succeed at United when the kids are only going to athletics every other day..its like fighting w/one hand tied behind your back, especially in that district

So when is getting a better job with better pay considered a bad thing?? Isn't that what anyone wants to do?? Would you want your boss letting you go simply because you applied for another job that was a step up? I sure wouldn't! Most districts I work with have zero issues with head coaches applying for other jobs thats the cost of doing business in a competitve market like TXHSFB Head Coaches...where the issues with most AD's and admin comes is when you get an interview and you dont communicate that up the chain...but simply applying is a non-issue... I guarantee you those admins who are pissed about Graham applying out are probably putting in apps to better paying jobs as well...their names just dont end up in the media Regardless of personal feelings LaPorte (and Jasper) are better jobs than Beaumont United, better pay, better facilities and a better setup in regards to vertical alignment.

Its absolutely vindictive if thats the only reason why.....if Graham had an interview and didnt inform his boss of such then at that point I can understand a reassignment based on the lack of communication..but simply applying for other jobs? No way that's bad business IMO...but lets face it right now Beaumont ISD isn't a geat place to work if you are a HFC, so seeing their HC's apply for other jobs shouldn't be a shock

His name appearing on the FOI probably did him in...its one reason I don't request them publicly...you get people who are vindictive at times

Crosby has nothing to protest they were over the cutoff.....you can only ask to move to a different district, not classification....unless there's a big screw-up somewhere...I dont recall this Lumberton protest to move back to 4A

Jasper has already had their Feb board meeting so I would imagine they are very close or already have their guy....guessing they are gonna try and get a special board meeting called here soon to name the new coach

Region II top to bottom isn't near as strong as it was a year ago....Ryan gone....College Station gone..Lone Star probably going to be a bit down...adding Crosby and PAM helps a bit but I think top to bottom its a bit down
