  1. Most places I know have varsity tryouts and if you don't make it you are on JV/Freshman team...both teams may have 25/30 kids but they are part of a team so it's cool
  2. One extra kid in offseason isn't going to make or break things IMO.... I dont know many schools that cut in baseball, Maybe they do but I figure most just have subvarsity teams and try to split em up to play some...most coaches want more kids in athletics
  3. I've seen it done at 5A and above where they have athletic periods that are sport specific.... I know there's a 4A in DFW that has athletics for football, basketball and baseball...the kids that are sport specific stay in those sports all year and the multi-sport kids switch based on thr season
  4. Bingo...I would say I know more DFW coaches than Houston coaches since I live in DFW, but I've great relationships with a lot of Houston coaches and those get cultivated because I'm down in Houston fairly frequently
  5. I honestly didn't read through the post site is blocked in Canada so I'm only posting via phone so I probably just scanned through the post too quickly
  6. I think publicly the coaching staff has moved on, the grievance and game still being in the news is all DISD politics. The loss will absolutely be used as motivation with the team; I would not put anything past him or the coaches when it comes to what needs to be said regarding motivational tactics behind closed doors.
  7. I watched the interview with Grimes and Todd did say he didn't agree with the calls, (shocking a head coach not agreeing with close calls going against his team) and he said he didn't agree with the official that lives in Groves being on the crew...but if I recall he also said that was on him that he didn't research the crew thoroughly I don't recall him using the term rigged or robbed but its been several weeks since I watched the interview too
  8. What team that loses in the state game won't be trying to avenge their loss? Motivation 101 lots of teams who suffer a tough playoff loss do it...SOC is no different Where did Todd say they were robbed? Maybe he said it and I missed it while in Canada?
  9. I'm interested in what the definition of a questionable enrollee is
  10. DISD filed the complaint not SOC, I can assure you the SOC coaches have moved on
  11. There's zero reason why the girls sports shouldn't lift...if there's just one weight facility there needs to be some cooperation and scheduling but for the good of all sports and athletes it needs to happen and if it's not happening then a poor job is being done by all involved IMO
  12. Statewide updates [Hidden Content]
  13. I understand politics and all that entails and in certain instances in high school athletics it rears its ugly head. I've helped coaches find officials for games including state title games and I can assure you politics are the last thing on those guys minds. You feel quite strongly that politics are involved here and I disagree and that disagreement is based on personal experience. You aren't changing my mind and I'm not changing yours...much like a political debate on the internet
  14. When it comes to a state championship game? Absolutely!! The only thing on those guys minds is winning if you think those guys are going to risk winning a state title to make someone at TASO happy then I'm not sure you know these coaches.
  15. The big question will be which non-DFW district goes into District 8....
  16. Alamodome can handle it better than NRG IMO...locker rooms are still an issue at NRG for multiple games
  17. Absolutely not...if that was the case he would have been picked for a game this year too right? There was a Fort Worth crew that worked a game this year and it definitely wasn't Bill's crew
  18. Gunter-Tidehaven had Austin refs and Bellville-Gilmer had Dallas officials
  19. What politics would make Coach Joseph and Coach Todd to both agree to a Fort Worth crew led by Bill Theodore for their 2022 game? I know Coach Todd pretty well and he doesnt strike me as the kind of guy who plays politics in the least..and I would think the same applies to Coach Joseph if he's like his Dad
  20. Houston officials worked DeSoto-Summer Creek, PNG-SOC and Aledo-Smithson Valley...San Antonio did Duncanville-North Shore
