I posted this on the Ned Dayton thread. Thought it might be appropriate here too. IMO, Dayton had this game won until #10 decided otherwise. It was like everyone was waiting for someone else to step up, all game long. Zack English is perfectly capable of scoring 20+ EVERY game. He is too unselfish. Watching him in the 4th qtr of this game is a perfect example of what he could do every game. I would like to see him in every game with a scoring mindset that he had in this 4th qtr!! I think this team is looking for that type of leadership.

Man if I wasn't such a bulldog fan Lee College is where I would be. This will be a crazy Fri nite! Good luck to Silsbee and HJ.

Sounds like Ozen controlled this game. Congrats

I will admit I was very worried throughout most of this game. Dayton played very well. Zack English stepped up and simply would not accept a loss tonight, with 15 4th qtr points. Not just his scoring, but his intensity and aggressiveness carried over to the team. Zack also made 2 clutch pressure free throws with seconds left in the game to give us a 3 point lead. Congrats to the Dogs.....but a BIG THANK YOU to Zack English from this Bulldog fan!

Gonna head out early tonite, I heard that HJ gym only seats about 100 people.....is that true Nash?

I'm fortunate, my wife LOVES basketball. Sometimes hollers louder than I do, and sometimes asks me "technical" questions about the game to make me think I know more than she does  ;D

IMO talent would be all inclusive, combining athleticism, basketball IQ, court vision, discipline, unselfishness, confidence, work ethic, ability to identify and take advantage of opponents weaknesses, and ability to be a leader on the court.

Not playing the game to avoid injury?  IMO Central simply wanted to go into the playoffs coming off of a win. Yes I know, Central has beat Ned 2 out of 3 games, but ask any coach how hard it is to beat a good opponent 3 times in one year. Valid arguments for playing or not playing, but IMO you always play this game.

Dickie V...if you want to be a respected contributor to this board my suggestion would be SUPPORT your team, critique others RESPECTFULLY. Nederland lost, and we expect some flack. That's OK, it makes the board fun. But it really is unnecessary to call out specific boys by name or number and say things like "you don't even know when they're on the floor, or "they have JV talent at best".  You said Weisbrod and English are good players, simply leave it at that. If you notice, you are the only one who in almost every post in some way shows your dislike for Nederland. All in fun, I don't think so. Am I oversensitive, not hardly.  Not sure where the deep seeded dislike stems from, but keep in mind this board exists because of the very boys and teams we talk about. When you got back on this board you said you wanted to be a positive contributor.......keep working at it, IMO you're not there yet.

On a side note, Dove, I thought Ozen JV looked good tonight.
