Interesting Question about district 20-4A

Looks to me like that would knock poor Ozen right out of the playoff picture for years to come ;D -
How important is Sportsmanship
asary replied to PoppaBearstarr's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I love to watch someone play hard and physical and give it their all, within the rules. If you hard foul someone going for a layup, or if an opponent is on the floor and you are able, reach out and help them up. Let your game speak for itself, and keep your mouth shut. Cockiness and arrogance IMO are a big turnoff. I cant help but like any player that plays hard, shows good sportsmanship, and respects the game. IMO this reflects well on the players parents as well. -
Hopefully Nederland can get that winning attitude back. Looking for 1 or 2 boys to step up as leaders Fri night. I'm going with my Dogs by 8.

You just never know. :o -
Well, it was one of those nights when it simply wasn't our night. Not many things went right for Nederland. Central played a better game. When you're on a winning streak 2 things are for sure. 1) every team is gunning for ya, 2) and at some point the winning streak will end. It ended tonight, and congratulations go to Central. Having said that, hold your heads high bulldogs, what you accomplished is something to be proud of. Our Nederland basketball community has come together AND GROWN because of what you have accomplished. Let the "pain" of this loss soak in, learn from it, and move forward. At the end of the day it is simply ONE loss. Begin a new win streak, and continue winning District Championships....and strive for your next goal of winning a Regional tournament. PROUD TO BE A BULLDOG!

Wow...I can say a lot of things. IMO the refs were simply horrible. Nederland can't blame the loss on the refs. We did not have a bucket until about 4 min left in the 2nd quarter. We had 4 points at that time all from freethrows, are you kiddin me? We did not block out, we did not rebound, we did not penetrate, we got one shot to their 3 all night long. We had a laçk of intensity. No-one stepped up and became a leader tonight. We could not hit a 3 for our life. Our big man did not have a bucket, yes, did not have one bucket all night (please correct me if I'm wrong). K. Smith for Central played a great game. Central defended and shut us down better than any team yet. Central played hard, aggressive, and simply put outplayed us tonight. Congrats Jags. :'(

Have you experienced a period of "reality and clarity ".........or is this your "reverse psych" effort at it's best? ;D
No reverse psyche until next week :D
Next week.....why, what happens next week? ;D -

Dick Vitale picking Nederland on the Basketball pickems. What's up with that? And don't even try to say that you think Central will win but not cover the spread. We wont buy that ;) ;D -

With only a 3 point spread I doubt anyone picked Nederland in the way you suggested. Good try though Soulja :D -

I said it before...Central's team and coaches will feel the pressure in a close game in the 4th, will not make the adjustments, will not make the plays, will not make free throws, Nederland will play disciplined, smart ball.....and will win by 10 -

Nederland is coming off a good game against Livingston. I heard they played much better than they have for several games. I think that will fuel their confidence and they take Central by 10, although it will be back and forth for 3 quarters. The pressure toward the end of the game will affect Central more than Nederland. -
