Hmm, I've been to some gyms who still use the big industrial fans to cool off the gym.
Old school, Oh yeah! With the smell of sweat and musky locker rooms....Now I'm getting excited!
If I could I would 'smite' you for such a dumb question.....but I do 'applaud' you for trying to figure this thing out!. :D
Thanks, i think? Do what U wish, b/c depending on how some interpret this issue, smite is considered a good thing in some peeps minds. I'm fairly new to this board, so I am unable to 'applaud'/'smite' people until reach 200 posts. I guess it wasn't that dumb of a question, b/c I have read varying opinions on it. I think i understand it better, but I'm not sure. Hey 5 on 5, Is 'smite' a good thing in ur opinion or not?
I'm certainly no expert, I don't have enough posts either. I have asked several times about this + and - Karma thing , and trying to understand it myself. I think I'm getting it.

Whats your opinion on the 7:00 PM start times?
asary replied to bruno994's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I prefer 7:30. For home games a group of us all go out to eat before the game, our version of tailgating I guess! Also the extra 30 mins gives the sun a chance to lower enough not to be right in my eyes in my reserved seat! -

If Raines is back.. Ned - 17 Vidor - 7... Without Raines No disrespect to the backup. He performed about as well as you can ask against BH. But first time starting jitters are hard to shake. Its different when you have time to psych yourself out all week versus just being thrown in there.
First time jitters? I am pretty sure Friday night was as bad as it gets. No disrespect to Raines, but this kid has a better release, sees the field faster and delivers the ball, I don't see Vidor getting anything but a tougher time playing pass defense. I hope Raines returns for Vidor, he deserves the start he paid for it but if he don't I think Vidor is in for a worse time if the Coaches don't screw Woods up it could be we have to much time before the next game!
Dawgnuts i totally agree Woods was in control with out any jitters that I could see. His arm is stronger than Raines and he does see the field alot better. I am like you Raines does deserve the start but coaching needs to look at running Woods alot more. Last year on JV Woods and Barrows were a lethal combination and it would seem they would realize this. But then again seems like Nederland coaches would have realized its hard for a rt footed kicker to be on the rt side hash mark also.
Baffled me too. I had an official of this game tell me he thought Neumann was out coached. Those were his words, not mine! I bet Neumann will have his group ready Friday night. -
Yep. He is probably the only senior (except 'Vegas') who was expected to see quality PT this year. Nederland will have a young team for sure. Definitely gonna miss Trent!
Not sure if you're really concerned or if you're being a smart-arsh? I'll give u the benifit of the doubt and assume you are being sincere. ;)
Nah, I was serious. As a senior I had a very serious knee injury I know what the young man is going through right now. ;)
HS athletes (and their parents!!) look forward for many years for that senior year. Having it taken away due to injury is an indescribable disappointment I'm sure.
Which really bring up another subject matter but still related to the post. It may not be as common as this area, but there are many athletes who begin to focus only on one sport once they get into high school. I know one particular kid out of the Houston area who was being recruited by a Big 12 school. Had a major knee injury coming into his senior year. I think he missed all of the football season and eventually went to JUCO.
I think this is becoming more popular, and if you excel in basketball I personally think it is the best decision to stay out of football. Don't get me wrong I like football....BUT....I LOVE basketball.

Certainly hoping there will not be any, but every year it seems someone gets injured during football season and gets knocked out of basketball or has to play injured. Post any updates throughout football season.

Good job Ned freshmen, this team has some good athletes! -
Racism lives today simply because some won't let it die. Racism is a "learned" concept, and therefore must be taught by someone. Small children may realize people are a different color but that is not racism. Their attitudes reflect what they have learned from their parents. The apple does not fall far from the tree. This applies to blacks and whites, BOTH races must let it die. Will this happen, probably not. But as for me and my house, racism is DEAD.
-
To be honest I have as many black friends as I have white friends and we are all "bro". Racism is a well documented part of history, however, we can never move forward if we keep looking backwards.
In High School, sacks are counted against your rushing yards instead of your passing yards. So the 9 rushes for -15 yards is deceptive.
I guess 9 sacks for -15 yds isnt too bad, what might be concerning though is the 9 sacks. QB needs better protection and hopefully knows or will learn when to just get rid of the ball.
