Starting today we will start having regular games so send me your homeruns.... I need the name of the player, school, class (Grade), and number he hit in the game.... With the new bats that schools had to switch to in 2012 there were 253 bombs, in 2011 there were almost twice as many...... Good luck to all of our young men... And thanks for viewing. Does this thread getting deleted really matter? It's a scrimmage thread and I asked a question. -
Critter I totally agree with you on Guidry, and a great kid to boot. Gonna be a great year for baseball but of course the rain has got to STOP!!!!
I know!!!!!!! seems like every year we have to worry about rain when the season kicks off!!!!...LOL
This district this year will be a toss-up. I dont think BC runs the table like they have the last few years. HJ has its share of good pitchers and yes Duplant will be able to match any teams best. WOS cant be counted out with the Anderson boys and (I cant think of his name sophmore)... Silsbee is always strong as is Orangefield. Buna lost a great kid that will be hard to replace. Dont know about HF.
We hear this every year about how BC won't win district cause of this stud pitcher or these stud hitters.... BC has the Hands down best pitcher in the Area in Guidry. Now Duplant might be a great pitcher but Guidry is elite. 7 days til the season starts then everybody can really see how it plays out but IMO BC will win district again and Silsbee will be 2nd with 3rd up for grabs. Not posting this to start any arguments JMO just like you have yours :D

Best young ballplayers in the area. 8) 8)
I agree. I've seen them play. Very talented. I remember Shugart when he was 12 and was throwing BB's. Went and watched him play last year and he hasn't slowed down.
I remember and still have Shugart's LLWS DVR'd... if it wasn't for pitch count he would have won it for his team!!!
1. Bridge City 2. Silsbee Hamshire-Fannett Hardin-Jefferson West Orange-Stark 6.Buna 7. Orangefield 3,4,and 5 are the hardest to try to predict. I really think 3,4,and 5 could go either way. These three teams i believe will battle hard for those spots. I know Bridge City and Silsbee are both solid. HJ is where they are cause of Duplant. Yep he's that good sorry. WOS is getting better every year. Buna lost to much yep i mean the Franklins sorry again they do make that much of a difference. Orangefield to young will be better next year. These are just my unprofessional, unbiased opinion.
Nicely Put Dog..... Good job breaking it down. I agree with your top 2 .. and the next 5 could go either way! Having to play BC and Silsbee in District will battle test the rest of the district so it might come down to strategy in the pitching rotation etc. JMO Critter

It's almost that time of the year again.... With the new bats for 2012 the guys' numbers dropped to 253 for all homeruns for the year. In 2011 there were almost 500 bombs. With a year under their belt with these new bats I think we will be seeing a increase in HR's this year. Once again, starting with the first real game/tournament of the season I will need the: Name of player, Class/Grade, School, and number of HR's hit in the game. I will compile the total for individuals and their respective team. Good Luck to all of these young men this year!!!! Critter

Kountze vs Silsbee "scrimmage" How does this one go?
Critter replied to a topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Im sure it will go as its intended. Like a scrimmage. Its a live practice. And gives the coach a look at what they need to work on. "Thats how this will go"
True Story Cats80..... No sure why I just thought of the Turtle man and wanted to Yell "LIVE ACTION"... I assume that a lot of non starters will get their shot to prove themselves. -
Went to watch the first day of practice yesterday and was pleasantly surprised at the number of players who were there for tryouts, good numbers. I have now figured out why the basketball program has struggled, all the kids with height are on the baseball field! The freshman class may possibly be able to put a starting 5 together and every player would be taller than the ones on the basketball team! Wow! Had some impressive showings by a few guys who have really matured since last year and they certainly have a bright future. Most all of the returning varsity players all look to be in great shape, you could tell they have worked over the fall and winter. I know a big group of them have been throwing for weeks in anticipation of the season starting, that will pay big dividends later. Overall the talent pool appears to be as deep as ever and the Cardinals hopefully won't skip a beat. Rake1
Nice read..... And I am sure they are getting some batting practice in also!!!!! ;D

Top High School Pitchers in SETX 2013
Critter replied to utfan1982's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
What about Haydin Guidry? .64 ERA 100Ks last year
Without a doubt the bet returning pitcher in SETX..... Stats don't lie and he pitched against quality teams.... Wasn't his record like 10-1 or something like that? -
Ozen High School is at 3443 Fannett Rd. If coming from Bridge City on 69, take the Fannett Rd exit. Turn right on Fannett rd and the school will be down probably 1/2 mile on the right. If coming through Beaumont, take the Washington Blvd ext. Turn left on Washington then right on either 6th or 5th st. Both will take you to Fannett Rd and the school.
Thank You 22.......

could someone post direction to the Ozen gym please...... Thanks
