  1. And sometimes you have a Board President and/or a Super that are not on the same page. Either feels that other had "say" on the previous hire, or vice versa. Agendas come into play, rather than what is best for the kids or who is the best candidate.
  2. The term “head coaching experience” goes a long way in the hiring process Its easier to say, “Well, we thought he’d do better because he’d been a head coach before.” Than it is to take a flyer on a coordinator. A lot of the times that coordinator needs ties to that community or to the superintendent, in some way, shape or form. It’s not what you know, it’s who you know.
  3. Baseball coach is a good dude, not sure if you want the head football coach to also be the head coach of another sport. My opinion.
  4. Doesn’t impact me either way Ive at least heard of Vanover
  5. That would be a decent hire for Livingston
  6. Quality guy, too
  7. Creek is going threw a coaching change, but one of their sub-varsity teams went undefeated while the other only lost a game or two. Houston Austin has one of the top QB prospects in Texas. While Sterling will be hiring their 4th head cosch in the last 5 years (Sawyer, Gaeri, Aduddell), La Porte has had the same head coach for over a decade and has only missed the playoffs twice since 2000.
  8. I’ll give you Channelview Sterling doesn’t beat Creek, LP or Houston Austin. Just saying
  9. My point is Westerberg is not winning state at Barbers Hill with the caliber of athlete that currently walks those hallways. You can be well coached, have an unlimited budget, work really hard and still not have a legit shot. There are no Kyler Murrays walking the halls at Barbers Hill. Therefore, I maintain that BH will not win a state championship.
  10. Kyler Murray plays for OU not BH
  11. Good to know some area school districts and taxpayers are willing to upgrade facilities
  12. We're still talking about baseball
  13. Also, rarely, if ever, do kids receive full athletic scholarships to play college baseball
  14. They’re still waiting on him to cut that hair lol
  15. Didn’t the Dishon kid play QB and baseball? Ended up playing OF for LSU? Maybe I’m mistaken
  16. I think QB skills are developed early. Just like young kids work on baseball mechanics or free throws for basketball, the skills necessary to play QB are developed from 7th grade up. The HS staff should be doing all in their power to equip Junior High/Middle Schools with whatever they need to make the kids successful in the future. Just one man’s opinion.
  17. [Hidden Content] Guess your answer regarding coordinators is in this article
  18. Worked for Dishon's group back in the day
  19. I don't think anyone on here is going to contest against new schools or academic facilities. However, I'd be quicker to support a new football field/stadium before a soccer one. Also, while you're building all new facilities, why not include an upgrade to the football field? It doesn't have to what Allen, Katy, Clear Creek or Cy-Fair has. But, you could upgrade the quality of the stands, pressbox, track and field for a reasonable price (in terms of upgrades or new construction are concerned). Schools like Shelbyville, Center, San Augustine, Cathage, Beckville...etc all have simple, nice stadiums with upgrades. Why not Livingston?
  20. Mark Moseley Field, I believe
  21. Perhaps the namesake of that stadium will come out and throw his name in the hat
  22. 80 year old Danny Ray Hooks
  23. Worst stadium in all of football Only other one I can think of is Chester
