HARDIN @ BUNA.. FOR A PLAYOFF SPOT.... WHO WINS?
HtownHornet replied to HORNETS_FAN's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
i don't understand how either of these teams have any chance at the playoffs this year. both have pretty much sucked it up in a sub-par division. it makes me sick.
I am amazed the hardin boys are still in the hunt to be honest, these kids that are still playing have gone thru more than most people should have to. The horrible accident with Pate then the Comeaux kid being pulled from his burning car at Pate's viewing and being life flighted in front of their eyes, then it was the davis kid blowing his knee out at the first game, then Villemez went down with the ankle and to top that off three seniors quit leaving just two seniors left on the team. I am not making excuses by any means, I just applaud these kids that have endured so much adversity this season and have somehow have gotten better these past couple weeks. These kids are winners in my book no matter how this season ends.. -
HARDIN @ BUNA.. FOR A PLAYOFF SPOT.... WHO WINS?

Slowly but surely our injured are getting healthy. Hopefully we can take care of business this friday. Both teams know what is at stake. Thanks goodness the coaches are letting more of our offensive players play defense now. Definitely has improved the team. -

Mitch was not fully recovered from the ankle injury and did not participate in full contact practice during the week of the game. He wanted to play but the coaches were relunctant to play him because he was not fully recovered from his injury. They knew he needed another week to heal. They told him he on the sideline that he would not play, ofcourse he did not take that well at all and eventually went out and played in limited duties. Anahuac will go big school in the playoffs, the rest of the district is fighting for the two seeds in small school. -
East Chambers vs Hardin...Predictions?

Mitch had over 9 yds. per carry against a solid Anahuac team and he was still not healthy. He obliterated you last year. Please come to our stadium with that mind set. You are no Anahuac, talk yourself up some confidence. -

yeah we got whooped by a very talented anahuac team but Villemez didn't play much because if we lose to EC then we meet newton in the second round which no one wants so why re injure him where he can't play against EC? -
Two weeks will probably not be long enough if it is a high ankle sprain. The problem will be his ability to make his cuts. These type injuries are frustrating for the player because it is such a long healing process. God luck to the young man..

Dude, that's the second time you've said that, and it wasn't funny the first time either. I guess you have something against folks who attend church? Oh it was hillarious, it was idiot bait, and it worked beautifully! You two guys are related, aren't you? -

Would you like to see his SAT score. A 1420 is not a dummy score, dummy. -

WOW he was wearing the jersey of his friend that night. He visits his friends mom and calls her to see how she is regularly. You are the one with no class. You are a jerk in the biggest way!! -
This will be Silsbee's toughest game to date. I am glad it is at home. I was encouraged with the improved defensive play from last Friday night. I though our defense played well enough against Lumberton to win that game. Still gave up a couple of big plays, but all in all, played very well. They will need that kind of effort and execusion to slow down Newton. Newton will score, but we can't let them score at will. I think the Tiger defense is ready to make a statement. The offense has to be able to run the ball against Newton. If they can do that, it will open up the pass game even more. Not too many teams, including Newton, will see pass attack like what Silsbee brings to the table. If Silsbee can protect JJ, with the stable of recievers we have, he will connect on some big plays. I stress, we have to establish a run game, first and foremost. Otherwise, Newton will pin their ears back and blitz just about every play. We may be able to win some of those battles, but will for sure lose some. We cannot afford to have single digit rushing yards against the Eagles. I say Silsbee gets it together this week and gets the win, late. Final Silsbee 35 Newton 31 Newton rolls!!

Silsbee had no excuse to lose to Diboll. But it seems you are bent on giving Hardin all the excuses they need. Why are you even here? Go back to wherever.. -

How bad is Justin Albrtitton's injury? -

I would agree with you if the offense could move the ball, but if 46 yds. total offense is true, well sounds like 7 would have been all you would have scored. Sounds kinda like the Texans today.. -
Curious, does anybody from Anahuac know how bad Justin Albritton's ankle injury is? Heard is was at Dr. Litner's on Saturday.

HF at Huffman Predictions?
HtownHornet replied to Bobcatfan4life's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Going with Huffman. Convincingly -
Not all but some do which brings a lot of dislike to our program. Bingo. I couldn't agree more. It's one thing to support your school, and pointing out the positives is part of that. However, constantly making outrageous claims (why aren't we in the top 10?), degrading the competition and acting as if every player at every position is far superior the any other district (and state sometimes) team is the problem I have with it. You don't see Newton on here posting that cr@p. No, it's Hardin of all places. I'll lay off but just one more time...The tradition continues! Agreed, goodluck to EC except for one particular game...

H-D has lost two games this year. We lost to Hardin a playoff 2A football team and to Tenaha a playoff 1A team ranked #9 in State. In both games H-D hung in there, at one point in the Hardin game H-D was down 21-17 then Tim Taylor and Keith Gilmore got hurt and the game busted open. The Tenaha score was 15-0 at the half, H-D making big mistakes and playing without Keith Gilmore and Tim Taylor, two of our best players. H-D will be totally healthy and well rested after having two weeks to prepare for the Lions. H-D is ready and prepared to win District, also H-D is ready to beat the bigger school Kountze this friday. Since Evadale already beat Kountze, we should be able to guage how good H-D and Evadale are compared to each other. H-D 32 Kountze 12 IMO. I think it all comes down to how many skill guys play both ways. The team that has the luxury to rest these young men will have the advantage. Most games are determined in the second half when the fatigue factor sets in. HD has some salty guys, but they play both ways. I realize that most 1a schools do play both ways but the game breakers need to stay fresh if at all possible. The team that can do this will have the upper hand.
