He had over 1500 yds rushing, 24 tds, 8.53 yds per carry, 3 ints.,1 td pass. This was last years totals. He played linebacker his soph. season.

He ran a 4.51 and a 4.52 for the aggies camp this past july. He is getting interest from A&M, Kansas and Oklahoma has intered the picture recently. He is being recruited as a safety from the big schools the problem is they do not have much tape on him as a safety. This is why he will be playing more defense this year. Texas A&M wants his first three game films sent to them as soon as the third game is over. His sister attends A&M and seems the best fit. Good luck Mitch or should I say Gig em! We are rooting for ya!!!

If your referring to the Barber kid yes he is playing. Our team last year was mainly sophomores and juniors. The senior group only had 4 players starting. We lost a hard nosed player that will be hard to replace, but we also get back our number one receiver Hunter Davis. These four receivers and our running back as a group are dynamic and can beat you deep at any given play. The qb is smart and accurate. Any team that will play us will have to bring their A game to hold us down. We are more than ready!!! CANNOT WAIT!!!!

You know we knew how bad off we were last year when our scared quarterback could'nt move our offense. We benched him and replaced him with one that moves the offense well. We will be more than ready. I do believe that qb we benched last year now starts for your team. I understand why your so bitter now!!! Good luck with that!!!

What I saw was what typically happens during their first scrimmage. The team took awhile to start rolling. I did like the explosive plays that Hardin had.Those were players flat out out running the opponent. We had too many dropped passes but those will work itself out. Thought the defense was shaky, but that is expected with a new defensive scheme. Should see a tougher game with Hardin Jefferson next week.

Obviously you don't keep up with the rcruiting services. Jeremy Johnson is the #8 ranked QB in the nation by Scout.com and #9 by Rivals. No other player in Southeast Texas is ranked that high regardless of classification. Actually the two top recruits in this area are both 3A, Johnson and WOS Haynes. He looked average at best in the 7 on 7 tourney. Extremely skinny!! Was not impressed.

Don't be hating because of us beating your skill people in that 7 on 7 tourney? We will be there before season is up. Remember you started it Administrator!! Don't go there!!

You may want to go to youtube and put in Mitch Villemez and see your team highlights from last year,might just change your mind. Hardin and Anahuac will be the game of this district IMO. That's what made it a bold prediction. Hardin and anahuac won't be much of a game as Anahuac walks over you'll and the rest of the district. We shall see. I don't see them holding us down. It will be a high scoring game. Can't wait to see it unfold. Hey good luck to you guys. I think you will enjoy playing on our new field. It really looks great.

It's funny how most of you HD guys keep hanging on to the past and bringing up the glory days of the 1930's. History is very important and will always be a PART of who we are, but living in the past is "tarded" (in the words of 55). You can't judge a community from these "posts", but man, it sure makes a guy wonder if there sure be a security fence around the whole town. Last year all we heard on here was how Stelly and Villamez was gonna kill H-D. Aaron Cook rushed for more yards than Stelly and Villamez combined. Also that Bobcat defense was hitting Hardin in the mouth all night. H-D has always shut down Hardin's stars like Andre Fairley,John Ballew,Pat Reescano,Peanut Reescano, John Stelly and Mitch Villamez. Good grief Villemez did not play the 3rd qtr and was hobbling in the fourth qtr. Yes he was cramping because he was out of shape. Your team was mainly seniors last yr and ours were soph's and juniors with 3 starting seniors. You scored your extra pts, we didn't. That was it. We scored the same td's as you, with a young team and without Hunter Davis. Guess what, Villemez is 20 lbs bigger and in shape and we are the senior team this year. I am sure your boys are wishin you would stop giving the Hardin team anymore motivation than they already have to begin with. Let's put this game in perspective. First, this is the teams first game with the new field, second, they dedicated the first game to their fallen brother Chris Pate(god rest his soul) and Villemez is going to wear his jersey that night. Third, this is Hardin's best group of talent across the board without a doubt. Maybe you should be wise and just wish both teams the best of luck.

If you are from HD, you won't be hearing of your team winning at Hardin this year.

The score would not be 42-0 with pads on. It was 27-0 to be accurate. I watched the game. Hardin will have the edge over EC next year as they will have a much better team next year. Remember the game in which Hardin won last year was EC's homecoming. So to say the score would be different with pads on, I agree, but the result will more than likely be the same.

Sad that only two teams in this tough tourney will advance.
