  1. I hear ya, but the question was who would be the top QB-WR connection next year and going on facts from last season and not what we think because of a new offense, it would be crazy to argue that anyone other than Bellows to Brady or even Selanga would not be the most logical pick in 20-4A. I didn't say Doty to DeRon or Doty to Segura (both WR were good last year for PNG). Even though I think with Faircloth they will put up nice numbers, it's still an unknown. If I had something at stake I would go with the known from last year. I hope that Crouch gets LCM going. The tougher the district the better chance we have of crowning a 20-4A State Champion soon, which we need to get back on the map.
  2. I wouldn't say Nederland is one dimensional at all. I would actually say that they play to there strenghts. Last year they ran more out of the spread because they had the personel. The year before they threw more out of it because they lacked the personel in the running game. Just good coaching if you ask me. One dimensional is texas tech or PNG under MB!
  3. Whatever you do ndnsrock don't call Faircloth's offense the "Spread" in his presence. I here he hates it. It is not a spread. They spread the field yes, but they use motion on every play and try to confuse the defense unlike the spread where you use no motion and you react to the defense. I love the fact that they (the staff) have use all excited for the change though. Did you or anyone get out to the scrimmage today?
  4. The question was not most improved, but who will achieve the most success? Most would measure HS football success on playoff rounds. I still say then that Central has the best shot at going a few rounds deep. PNG will have quite a few new people in pivotal positions, especially QB (which under Faircloth is very important) and without any varsity experience I think it will take while to get it going. I expect PNG to improve through the year as they get experience at the QB spot and be tough at the end of district, but it may be too late to make the playoffs.
  5. I'd love to say PNG, but it may take a year. In all reality, Central should be tough. They are the ony school on that list that did not replace it's coach due to a poor season. And they replaced Stowers with someone on his staff so there should be no real surprises.
  6. Yeah, this reminds me of a few years back I think in Creuder's first year as HC at Lumberton. The obnoxious LTrain fans touting that they would be the best team in the state that year after years in obscurity, including the horrible year before. They all said AC would make them a power day one and talked so much crap that it was funny. Then they bombed! We tried to tell them it would take a couple of years (and it did). PNG fans lets not be this years LTrain fans circa 2006! ;D Besides, it's pretty hard to argue with the numbers out of Dayton the last few years. I'll take that success anyday!
  7. As a PNG fan the loss to WOS at there place when Long was tackled inside the five and held down long enough to keep us from getting a spike and chipshot FG to win it. Or amybe the Loss to Nederland in Pasadena after Rita. The Interception! That essentially kept PNG from the playoffs.
  8. I think he is refering to the Heat coaches being upset with the umpires and Crush coaches on the appeal. Not sure why the umpire didn't call it right off the bat. He said he saw it?? Also not sure why the Heat coaches were insinuating that we (Crush) were cheating because we appealed? That's part of the game. It is not like we talked the umpire into anything. We simply asked if he saw the guy touch the ball and he said yes and awarded the runner the extra base per the rules. If anything the guy that interfered with (tossed) a live ball back on to the field and then acted like he didn't do it could have been labeled! We are grown men and women. We make mistakes. I am sure at some point I will make a similar mistake, but I will certainly fess up (especially when so many people witnessed it). It was a very good game. You guys played well all weekend.
  9. I hope it is something classy and not one of Nike's Oregon Ducks outfits!
  10. I know of a couple of Cardinals that came from the California JUCO League that were pretty good additions: Damany Hendrix Nashid Beard I think there was another??
  11. No way!!! Based on that one practice, PNG will score 70 pts a game and blow the competition out the stadium each night. We will not need talent at all because the schemes will be so incredible that the oppossing defense will think that they are playing against 15 players each snap and they will just give up! OK maybe these NDN fans are going a little overboard (maybe a lot overboard). I appologive for their overly enthusiastic statements. I think they just got carried away because the offense will be so drastically different and diverse than before. I have said before, us NDN fans should be happy if our coaches and young men show vast improvement and finish at or above 0.500 with the real promise of great things in season 2.
  12. I would love to scrimmage WOS and Dayton. Two excellent programs would give a great test before the season, but If PNG only gets one scrimmage due to the Spring ball, I don't see a split scrimmage happening. I thought I heard that PNG and PAM would be scrimmaging. Can anyone verify this?
  13. By pro's and D1 ball you mean baseball, right?
  14. I agree...Not many better than C. Michaels, but J. Charles. Jamaal had 4105 yards rushing and 52 TD's in two years. 2051 yds his Jr. year and then 2054 yrds his Sr. year (in just 9 games). I don't have his receiving stats or his Sophomore season stats. In his first game back from shoulder surgery, posted 371 yards on 49 carries against Midland Lee in 2004 ... Had 400 yards on 31 carries and six TDs versus Spring Westfield. Great numbers against great competition.
  15. Jamaal Charles hands down. The better question is who was the second best SETX Running Back since 2000. 2nd - Probably C. Michaels - WB 3rd - Mosley Nederland (Overall numbers don't lie and put up great numbers against some stout opponents in Lamarque, FWood and Waller)
  16. Gonzales from LCM is a good athlete, but if he had good athletes around him as you say then they would have won at least one game last year. Don't be a homer. I am from PNG and would love to tout a PNG combo because they will throw much more next year and have two good WR in DeRon and Segura returning, but facts are facts, the QB spot is a question mark and lacking in experience. I would have to say the Bellows to Brady combo because of experience, let alone talent, will be tops in 20-4A. Don't bash the players at LCM. There were more than enough good athletes and talent to win at least one game, if not more. I think you really underestimate just how bad the former head "coach" was. Not bashing the players...Bashing the homer! To say Gonzales to anyone next year will be the top QB-WR connection is totally biased. What is that based on? There are far better proven combos in the district. Gonzales may build a report with a wideout this year and become a legit answer to this question his senior year, but not next year.
  17. I was shocked the other day when I went to pick up my daughter from GMS and saw the athletics period was working on position drills with a host of football coaches (at least 5). This means that the varsity coaches are already working with the youngsters!
  18. Gonzales from LCM is a good athlete, but if he had good athletes around him as you say then they would have won at least one game last year. Don't be a homer. 19. PNG hasnt had a "program" in place for many years. Exactly. PNG had a few good teams, but the talent was not being developed at the lower levels. That is what a good program is built around.
  20. : Little late are we! 1 losing season in 7 years? How about 3 winning seasons inthe last 9. Not making the playoffs with half of the district going constitutes a losing season! Going 5-5 with similar talent as your neighbors (who have a good PROGRAM and not just a few good teams) is not acceptable. IT'S OVER MOVE ON ALREADY
  21. I know he usually increases his money totals and ranking at the end of the season, so maybe this year with the early season jump he made and a late season rally he will not have to go to Q-School. I just expected more after a pretty solid start.
  22. NDN Nation has reason to be excited, but lets not forget Coach is building a program not just a team! Don't expect too much in year one. Anything better than 5 wins is a plus and should be seen as such. The future is bright and what we really needed around here was someone to build a program that competes for District Titles and State Playoff runs year in and year out. It looks like we have the guy to do the job. He certainly has a plan and is not afraid to make decisions.
  23. Ditto YG. Young guns went over to Lake Chuck and won this weekend as well. Nice job ladies after some adversity the past few weeks. Way to pull together!
  24. If you hang around Cheater any longer maybe we will figure out how to steal one eventually! ;D Great job ladies. Battled hard till the end and went down swinging with the tying run on base. Congrats!
  25. What has happened? This was suppossed to be his year. He said he was healthy and ready to compete at the top of the leaderboard week in and week out. He started out good, but has played horribly as of late. Is the knee hurting him again?
