1.
I thought the QB from Port Neches was supposed to be the best. Like 6ft4 and very speedy. Thats what everyone was posting. Any team would love to have a 6ft4 fast QB right? I'm not being sarcastic that is what has been said about him. Just wandering if its for real?
If you go back and look many of us PNG fans that had actually seen him in action before the season said basically that the kid was tall and had good straight line speed. We said very little about his arm and his abilities as a QB. I think for his future he is in a much better place now where he can use the tools he does have. OH and the kid from SC is best QB I have seen yet this year.  Reed is very good and would love to have him in Purple, but the SC kid is another level good.
2. I love all of this passionate rhetoric spewing from the keyboard of a guy who posts as UNLV! Shouldn't UNLV be a national power by now in football? I mean they are in the fastest growing community in the US and heavens knows the money is there. What kid wouldn't want to go to school in LAS VEGAS for four years?
3. Honeymoon is over for an up and coming HF team. WOS took them lightly last year, won't happen this go round!
4. Two good defenses! 17-7 Final. With the winner wearing white, black and gold.
5. Yea, whatever happened to all those obnoxious LTrain fans from a few years back. Guess they went from Raiders to Pirates! ;)
6. I agree godogs. I think someone will jump on Vidor and take a sizable early lead which is not good for Pirates and that grind it out offense. That and a bunch of Hungry Dogs put it on em Friday night. Nederland wins DC at 7-0. Vidor takes second at 5-2.
7. SCreek 49 Crosby 24 Can't wait for the SC/Dayton matchup.
8. 29-24??? Howd they score 5 points?
9. PNG scored 13 against WOS, but only one of those TDs was scored on a long drive. The other was after a long KO return to the ten.
10. Last Week
11. --- Quote from: BADSANTA on Today at 08:04:26 PM ---Lions fumble kickoff Tiger ball Lions and Tigers and Mustangs! OH MY!!!
12. And correct me if I am wrong, but a couple of them are on Varsity as well. Strong class. They have also won all but 1 or 2 basketball games as well from what I hear.
13. Actually Outanup the Sophomore played against both WOS and SC, two fast defenses. He played well enough against SC to get the start in the district opener. So this aint his first rodeo. Kid throws a nice ball and though he will make some mistakes, he will make many more plays.
14. Great!
15. Livingstons speed is not in question, especially with a healthy Collins. The fact is the Lions, just like everyone else 3 through 8 in 20-4A, have other big questionable areas. Reality is that the two teams that can mask those issues the best will play week 11 and get hammered!
16. Saw alot of coaches at Ford Park this weekend...Some big names as well...Murphy from National Champs Alabama was there in his houndstooth Cap, Lotief from ULL, and Oranges own Howard Dobson was there from LSU. As CrushCoach said, we were very pleased with our field assignments. I see alot of promise in future events in BMT if they can keep it up. Great job Ronnie, Nara and Jonathan!
17. As I stated before the season and believe that it's beginning to prove out, 20-4A is not very good this year as a whole like it has been in the past several years. The top two in Black and Gold are very good teams who could have nice playoff runs, but the battle between 3 thru 7 will produce a couple of lambs to the slaughter for 19-4A!
18. Good news is we got Lumberton in two weeks. Nothing says pick-me-up like playing the Raiders when your struggling!
19. Think AJ threw both picks with the second one being a pick 6.
20. Chipman had been battling a leg injury since FB began this year. Best guess is it just got to a point that it wasn't worth the potential long term injury considering his love for Baseball. I wish him well.
21. To answer ones earlier question...Yes PNG before Faircloth did take a knee, but that was a coaching regime that was from this area. When asked about it Faircloth was a little suprised.  Having coached in West Texas, CenTex and Dallas he stated this was the only area that he had ever seen do that. He explained that having athletes kneel then get right back up and go full speed can lead to injury. Anybody who has goten down on one knee for any length of time then got back up can attest to that. His rule is not out of any disrespect. Spend five minutes with the Gentleman and you will realize that he holds every young man on that field, be it friend or foe, in high regards for the efforts they put in to the game they love. Also, when a PNG player gets hurt, we don't get down on a knee either.  My daughter plays Softball year round and when a player gets hurt, no one takes a knee. I have been to a bunch of basketball games at the HS and college levels and never have I seen anyone take a knee when a player gets injured! And this includes the very schools that some of you that are pointing the finger at PNG are from. So if it's OK in all other HS sports then why do local yocals make a big deal about it each year on Friday Nights? My take is it's just another chance for some to point the finger this way and say we think we are better than everyone else...Well glass houses!!!
22. You will not beat WOS through the air! They are vulnerable if you can spread em out and pound it at em, but you gotta be patient and keep working the ground game. I thought we would have faired much better had we taken that approach. At least we could have kept it low scoring and close enough to have a shot.
23. Now 22-22 PNG/WOS.  2 min left 3rd
24. Now 16-14 WOS.  5 to play in 3rd
