1. WOS JV 16 PNG JV  6. Halftime Lemoine at QB for PNG for whoever asked earlier
 2. Walker has only been at PNG for 1 year. He moved from HF before his Freshman year. Not any real ties to PNG. The folks that have called for him over AJ are not his "faithful" I can gaurantee you that. His "faithful" support AJ in his Senior campaign wholeheartedly as do I. Now what I have no problem with is getting 2 very good athletes on the field at the same time...If this means AJ at WR some then so be it. His skill set, size and straightline speed, probably is better served at WR then Walkers would be elsewhere?? In other words Walker probably doesn't help the offense with himself at WR or RB like AJ can if you have another good QB. Think Tanehill moving to WR versus Johnson moving to WR for A&M a few years back. Johnson was not the athlete Tanehill was so it made since to keep him at QB and use Tanehill at WR to get the both on the field at the same time.

Tries to get to the line to spike it and time runs out just before. Great game.
yep! thats the one.  ;) alot of [s]bad[/s] Hooks calls by the refs in that game.  ;)
Yep...Long was injured on a late hit and WOS was flagged for it. Hooks comes out like he is checking on Long and starts to argue the call with the officials while Long is laying on the turf.  Lost some respect for one of the great coaches of our time in HS FB that night. I know he just got caught up in the game, but he'd been around long enough to know to temper down till after the player was tended to.
 4. '98 PNG at WOS - Down 21-14 - Long runs down to the 3 yard line with no timeouts and about 6 seconds left. Tries to get to the line to spike it and time runs out just before. Great game. '00 WOS at PNG...PNG kicks away from Franks on the 2nd half kickoff. Balls goes out of bounds. Move us back 5 yards and for some reason we decide to kick deep to Franks??  :o TD Franks and WOS wins 7-0! They went on to the State title game against Ennis that year.

Remember if aint broke, don't fix it! Offense wasn't broke.  However, the NDN defense, if I was the coach, that would keep up at night worrying.  This is 20-4A after all. Ozen, Vidor, Nederland, Central.....oh the nightmares I would be having trying to find a defense to stop them. It could be a long season if the focus is not put where it needs to be.  Politics doesn't sell football tickets - WINNING does! There could be several fires at the ol' reservation this year.
Offense wasn't broke?  They totaled 210 yards on 64 plays. Thats 3.3 yards per play of which they averaged 1.6 on the ground...Thats broke. Was it AJ? No. I'd say for his first start he did well enough to warrant another start. There aint no politics going on at PNG. Love it when a Bulldog fan tries to stir the PNG Pot!  ;D
 6.
The biggest problem with the NDNs is their defense.  I would put my concern there if I was the Ndn faithful, this drum beat of downing AJ to lift up someone else is distracting and hurtful to the team.
I see alot of downing the defense from Friday night, but I thought the defense was a bright spot for most of the game...Silsbee scored after two PNG turnovers inside there 20. First half the defense was dominant, but the offense was controling the clock...Second half the offense sputtered and the defense was on the filed most of the half. They held a very good back to 3.4 ypc. Reed caught the defense over pursuing on one play and hit the backside WR for 50+ yards (great designed and executed play by the way), but the defense held and gave up no points. I didn't see alot yards after contact from the Tigers.
Also, any development in the running game would benefit the Indians, AJ should be utilized as run threat as well.  I can see this being the bread and butter for NDNs this year.  The question is why are they not doing it?
They are running AJ. He ran 14 times, most if not all were designed runs, not scrambles. My biggest concern for my Indians this year is the lack of a running game. The past three teams had a workhorse and good lines that always plowed forward and rarely turned the ball over.
 7. DT Riley is out. Went by practice today and both AJ and Walker took reps with 1st team. AJ did split out when Walker was in. No gimmick. AJ caught the passes thrown his way. Both looked sharp.
 8. Interesting to say the least. I know both young men are very good athletes. Maybe this is a way to get as many athletes on the field together at the same time. Especially against WOS who we all know is full of athletes. Not sure how comfortable I am with Walkers first Varsity snaps coming against WOS!!! I am behind whoever is under center or should I say behind center in our offense  ;D!
 9.

I'm surprised Aledo's on there and Summer Creek isnt  ;D Seriously, though...Dayton is 1-0; not 0-1!!!
I do agree that Summer Creek should be a top 25 team, but Aledo the back to back 4A State Champion that just spanked Highland Park by 3 TD's this week is surprising to you.  COME ON MAN!!!!!
Pretty sure he was taking a poke at SC Dawgs.
 10. Doty's first start at QB 11/24  121 yards  1 TD  2 Int    (21-20 win over BH at home) Millers first start against good comp (GP was a young team with little talent) 14/22  130 yards    1 TD  1 Int    (29-30 loss to Crosby on the road) Smith's first start 16/32  162 yards  1 TD  0 Int    (21-20 win over Silsbee on the road) We all saw improvement each game with the former QB's, I don't expect that AJ will be any different. Rally around the young man and good things should happen.
 11. King is an outstanding athlete, but he is a Freshman. He will make Freshman mistakes. I don't know much about the Sr. QB, but I am a bit suprised that King is the starter. His talents warrant him being on the field, but I really thought he would move to RB or WR this year and get aclimated to the speed of the game. It is very difficult for a Freshman to take on the role of a leader.  Sounds like new coach recognizes Kendricks talents and figures he will take his lumps early and build for the future. King is not the only talent in that Freshman group. Good things to come in HF if folks will be patient.
 12. Welcome Aboard. Congratulations and Good Luck Ladies.
 13. It looked to me like AJ struggled throwing from the crown on the field. He was high on a bunch of passes to the sidelines, but that could be expected since he has practiced on a flat field all year and even the scrimage was on flat turf. Gotta find a running game! Thought the defense did very well considering they were on the field most of the second half. Tigers scored after two turnovers on short fields. Once inside the ten and once inside the 20.
 14. Its not like Guyer lost to a bunch of chumps, Cedar Hill is a 5A state title contender year after year.
 15. Morris is the kid I saw at the spring game on the sidelines throwing left handed darts...Then he swapped over to his right hand and the darts turned to bullets. It was the most impressive thing I saw on the field that day.
 16.

I think PNG is just too deep to loose against Silsbee. Almost double the school size, it is just hard to hang with alot more talent to pick from. Probably a good game but I don't think Silsbee will really get rolling until they work out some of the kinks. Raidernaytion comments are hilarious considering Lumberton's inability to beat Silsbee in football or basketball. I wonder what the standing record between the two schools are? Maybe Silsbee having triple the wins when the two have gone head up. Of course that is if he considers raidernation a good quality opponent.
or maybe he considers the district that both png and lumberton play in to be competitive?? our district is pretty much a dog fight every year. not taking anything away from 3A though
I don't think these raider fans are knocking Silsbee as much as they are praising PNG for it's typical schedule which includes Tx City, BH, Gregory Portland, Crosby, Summer Creek (this year) as well as the always tough 20-4A. Silsbee allways has some great talent. What they lack is depth as do most 3A schools. Against other 3A's it usually isn't a big deal, but one thing PNG has allways been able to do is wear down opponents that have less depth. This may be the case come Friday night. Interested to see the Silsbee RB. I hear he is a beast. Should be a great test for our young defense. Better learn to wrap up and hold on!
 17. PNG under Faircloth doesn't use two way players.
 18.
for SFA -----> Eric Alexander
PAM is a no brainer...JC was maybe the best HS football player in the country and a superstar on the track! Not sure, but other than football what did Eric Alexander excell in? Dustin Hood was very good for Nederland as was Sullivan, but Cammack might get my vote. Poor kid had nothing to back him on the gridiron, but he still excelled. His Sr. year they lined him up at WR, RB, finally at QB because they just needed the ball in his hands. He also played some defense. And the 93 mph fastball was killer. I know it sounds like a broken PNG record, but Dustin Long led his FB team to a state title game, was a very good basketball player all be it on some bad teams and was an All-District SS on a baseball team that also played for a state title.
 19. Not sure about PNG, but I have one I played against in HS that is a no doubter from his school: Jeff Granger - Orangefield class of '90.  QB on FB team and at A&M...400 Meter State finalist...All State Baseball and played baseball at A&M and on team USA and for the Pitsburgh Pirates. Also a guy from SFA right before me that was a great two sport star was Allen Griggie. 1000+ yard RB on some great teams and could hit a baseball a mile! Graylon Johnson was also a beast on the gridiron and on the basketball court at SFA.
 20. Good for him. I know he had some issues early in the season, but he really responded well when PK called him and the other seniors out. Hopefully he learned alot about himself as a person and a player as a result. Sky is the limit. He was one of the most athletic guys LU has ever had on campus.
 21.
I have never heard of santa fe
Probably because they have been in that Friendswood, Lamarque, Manvel, Tx City district and were an afterthought. They did make a push a couple years ago in that district. Softball team won State title in 2011! New district might help'em. Vidor 28 SF 7 Might not!
 22. Not sure about Ron, but Brian is still in PN. He owns Athletes on 365 which is an indoor training facility. He also has a son playing at the Junior level these days. QBed his team to title in PeeWee last year.
 23.
Years PNG were 5A and who was the QB each year(to help settle an argument)  I think D. Long was a sophmore the last year PNG was 5A which I'm saying was 97 football season
No Long's Sophomore year was 97, but PNG was 4A. PNG was 5A in '94 and '95. Went 1-9 in '94 and 3-7 in '95. Not sure who PNG QB was, but I do remember that Baytown Lee had Clint Stoener. PNG went back to 4A in '96 and went 10-2. Corey Prosperie was QB.
 24.

Robby Dawson is the transfer from San Angelo
He was listed at 5'9'' 198lbs last year
He was also only a Sophomore correct? And started on a 5A team that went 8-3 and 5-1 in a district with Permian, Midland Lee, Abiliene and Amarillo. One thig is for sure...the kids frequent traveler miles just went down on Friday nights!  ;D
 25. A.J. Smith is 6'5" with a pretty good arm and decent wheels for his size. 4.5 I doubt, but not 5.0 either. What has yet to be determined is his presence in the pocket. Stared down wr in the spring game and showed marginal accuracy, but I know he has worked his tail off over the summer. Yes Lamar has offered so they see potential. There is a Sophomore that has folks excited named Ky Walker as well. He looked good in Spring. Quick on his feet and accurate. Much shorter maybe 5'10".
