Lamr's Stadium holds well over the 15,000 as advertised.  Before the upgrade to the stadium, it held 17K.  I think it would be a great idea. Lamar has great parking.  And for the crowds that MCM brings, Nederland and PN-G's parking sucks.  Lamar arguably has the best parking in southeast texas.  Well, them and PA Memorial's stadium.
The upgrade at LU actually reduced the number of seats. Not sure the count, but it did go down. Parking is much better at PNG now with the new parking lots, still not perfect, but much improved. I never had an issu with parking at Ned, but thats only becuase my buddy lives across the street from the visitor gate!!! ;D

No established coach at a 4A or 5A school will take the WB job since most are making more than 75K. So who are the top assistants in the state? Anyone they can lure?
Was the previous coach an assistant  too?  ::) ::)
Stump came from a low paying private school...So yes WB was a big jump for him! Which is precisely the point I am making. WB will not lure away an established/prooven HC from a big school.
I think B.I.S.D pays a little more than $80,000 it was listed in BMt Enterprise as few months back
Not sure today, but last I saw they paid $76,000 per HC. Who you gonna get for that kind of money? Not anyone prooven as a HC at a big school? That's not a bad thing, we got Faircloth when he was one of the top assistants in Texas and it has worked out great for all of our athletic programs. Remember most 5A HC/AD make upwards of $90K.

 4. Gonzo at Safety makes a lot of sense. He is quick and smart. At QB it didn't make as much sense. Excellent HS football player, but not a D1 QB. Sonnier will provide depth at a position sorely needed when running the spread.
 5.
For Central, I would like to see: Keep West Brook and Memorial and remove Galveston Ball and add Friendswood.
Yeah, playing Ball is pointless.
 6.
For PNG: Brenham, WOS, PA Memorial, WB. I like the thought of playing at least 1 4A team in preseason and then have the possibility of meeting up with that same team in the playoffs. That way you can see how much you have improved. The 5A teams test you and WOS speaks for itself.
Unfortunately for PNG, WB will not be an option. They are forced into the Central/Ozen games and it would not serve them to play another 4A team! I hear the PAM game is on. That'll be great and right around the corner. Good for fans of both schools. I would love to play Brenham in reliant to open up again. That was fun with the double header with Nederland. PNG/BHam and Ned/Montgomery with a swap the next year. So for me and since it looks like we will get 4 pre-districts this year and WOS may be the only available week 3, Id like in this order Week 0 Brenham (I'm sure they will reload as usual) Week 1 TxCity or Crosby (both quality 4A with good skill position returning) Week 2 PAM (Step down from 2011 PAM, but still good test) Week 3 WOS (Will be very good next couple years...State title good)
 7. Jayce ran a 4.5 flat at one of those college combines this past summer. And yes the thing that I saw him do this year that really impressed me was blocking downfield. On Bertrands 60 yarder against Crosby, Jayce drove his man out of the play about 20 yards downfield to allow Chase to punch it in. Thats good stuff. He reminds me of the Shipleys!
 8.
Mike James was a beast last night.....Sure wish he would have gotten that DUNK.....Looking forward to conference play and Lamar leading the way this year.....Great job Pat Knight.....
Yes he was hot last night and to my suprise young Trey Lynch played well. Unfrotunately the two four year starters (Miles and Harper)looked like they were in over there heads, which was dissapointing after they started the season so well. Any contribution from either of them last night and this could have been a 10 point game. Kentucky is big and loaded.
 9. Don't forget about #4 Louisville as well. And Ohio is a very good Mid Major this year at 11-1 with the only loss being a 4 pointer to Louisville. LU took them to OT. Rice is 9-4 with a W over A&M, TCU 8-4 and even Charlotte is 7-4. Good start against a very good schedule. Teams played have a combined winning percentage of 64%.
 10. You guys gotta get beyond the "so and so is signing with so and so D1 so they are deserving of making the blank all star team." I hear this argument every year. It's not about who you singed with, it's about what you a accomplished on the field. There are lots of great HS ball players that don't have the measurables of a D1 athlete, but put up great numbers and earn loads of respect on the HS FB field amongst their peers, the coaches and the fans.
I've seen nelson on the basketball court.  He will need to get a little bigger to be  the player that I know he can be playing d-1 college ball.  He have all the Football fundimentals and IQ down, no doubt.  He will be a treat to see in the Red and White!
I would expect him to put on 10-20 pounds and play 6'1" 200+ lbs. He and Seals if they get him can contribute right a way.
 12.
Lamar is actively recruiting the WR Seales.
Seals and Nelson would be a very good duo...Assuming they get a QB (Green ?) and better line play.

Congrads to he and Lamar.
PN-G. He's been one of our best players the last two seasons.
Don't stoke him BamaKid.  If he's that out of touch he doesn't deserve to know. 8)
TTT glad that Lamar is getting a local kid.
Lamar has many local kids...I'm glad Lamar is getting a local talent that could play at a FBS school like UH, SMU, etc...Many of those kids have choosen to leave, ala Ford (SFA) and Doty (Oregon) last year.

It was over rather quickly with no parents running on to the field. Also if you'll remember correctly, PNG officials did something about it after the fact...They reassigned there Head Coach! This was in part the straw that broke the Camels back!
I disagre.  Even if the Melee had not taken place, the old PN-G coach would have gotten the boot.  It was a losing season and the last game at home, you get shut out.  THAT DIDN't SIT WELL WITH THE Powers to be in the Indian administration...
He was without a doubt on the hot seat before, but the fight burnt him in the arse if you know what I mean.  ;D Point being, it was handled by both schools much better than this incident. That to me should also be a reflection on the Central staff, who is also in the BISD...Meaning they handled it very well, but folks forget that. Not all of BISD is negative.
 15. I think Lamar got a steal! Congrats Nelly and Woodard.

 17. Can't say its CBT's fault. Stump left for greener pastures! This had to be expected for any coach in Bmt that has any success. The problem I see is the equal pay for all three coaches. Never gonna keep a good coach around with a policy like that.
 18.
I would be shocked if Dravantti came to LU. It wouldn't make much sense when there's other FBS programs he could play at. Not surprised he's leaving UT, however.
Correct me if im wrong, but DJ has no choice but to go FCS. He will be a senior and redshirted allready at UT. Would have to sit out a year if he transfered to another FBS and would not have any eligibility left after that. FCS he can play right away.
 19.
Just what Lamar needs; another 230 lb. DE. Can Lamar please recruit farther noth than Silsbee. Lamar shouldn't even look at a DL under 270. That's what they need, actual D1 sized linemen!
::) Very few college DE came out of HS over 240. Most that did end up moving inside at 270+. The majority of HS DE, even the top end ones that go to Major D1's are 210 to 240 coming in. They get a on training programs and add 20+ pounds of muscle. The very few that come in at 6'3"+ and 250+ are not going FCS! Also watching all the State Title games, I have yet to see a WR better than J. Nelson. I have seen some good ones, but none that made me think Nelson couldn't play at the FBS level. Randy Rogers had his top 10 Sr. WR list and I have seen most of those guys, had Rogers actually seen Nelson, he would have been in there between 5-10 somewhere.
 20. Big difference in playing a non DI which doesn't count toward your overall record and OSU or Kentucky playing us versus another DI. PK is not saying that he is going to try and replace the NAIA and DIII schools with additional top ranked opponents. Replacing them with ULL, ULM, USA, UNT, etc., would be much better for prep for conference.
 21. Last I heard Lamar had offered Jayce Nelson.
 22.
If yall are talking about freshman and jv groups then don't leave vidor's jv out. They only lost one district game this year.
It is hard to judge JV teams since usually the better Sophomores and Juniors are on Varsity! The Freshman are just that, Freshman, very few on Varsity at the 4A level anyway.
 23. Shocked that a top UT recruit is left off of this list, deserving or not (in this case deserving of being on the list, but in many cases they make the list undeseringly)! One in particular was 4A Defensive Player Of The Year a few years back, but 2nd team All-District!
 24. PNG has a good Freshman group, but the Nederland Freshman group is outstanding.
 25. These two schools just played for the 4A Volleyball State Title a couple weeks back. LT won that one! I wonder if that has ever happened before. Rare to say the least!
