1.
D should have 6 coming back.
Was Hebert a junior?
 2. Isn't the SLC QB only a Jr.? Could this be another run at SLC?
 3.

PNG returning Starters or significant time. Offense (5) OL (3) - Reasons, Mangini, Soriano WR (1) - Chipman RB (1) - Wommack (Not starter) QB (0) Defense (5) DL (2) - Riley, Wardlow LB (1) - Warlick, Peveto DB (2) - Clark, Peveto (2 year starter at Safety, maybe moving to LB)
I thought yall's QB was a junior. Who yall got coming up in that department? Wommack is good and i'm sure he'll get better with Faircloth leading him.
AJ Smith was the back up this year as a Junior. Big kid (6'5") with a strong arm. He has more zip than Miller, but not the mobility that Miller had. This will be his 4th year in the system. Most expect him to do well next year under Faircloth. Of course not having Nelson to throw to hurts, but Logan Chipman is a big target at 6'3" and he impressed as the season went on. Chipman was only a Soph. Finding our inside guy to replace Lacour and our HBack replacement for Hanks will be tuff. Also hear we have a really good Freshman back that could see some action next year with Wommack. Lots of off season ahead! :(. I'd say Nederland should be the slam dunk DC favorite next year. With Vidor and PNG in the mix for the 2nd spot. LCM returns Sezar and I believe had a pretty good JV (correct me if I'm wrong). Ozen will take a step back without Green. Central is an unknown from year to year, and Livingston may not be in 20-4A. If they are they should be tuff with Collins back at QB.

 5. WOW...13 Laporte Juniors and Sophomores! Didnt realize Laporte was so young.
 6.
Travis Miller, QB from PNG, was robbed. Travis, if you're reading this, you have friends in LCM. Collins is a fantastic player don't get me wrong, but should have been utility considering he played QB in a wing-t offense, FS, WR when they went spread, and returned all their punts and kickoffs. no way you should pass for more than 2,000 yards and not make it somewhere on this team.
His numbers were comprable to what Doty put up last year through 11 games. Doty was Offensive MVP last year and rightfully so. Millers three WR all made first team?? Oh Well. Just goes to show how good the district was this year.
How do players who missed several games due to disciplinary reasons make the team much less 1st Team.  They must be very dominant to beat out guys who played in all of their drespective team's games.  Congrats to all who did make it!
How about Mays at 1st team FB? He played 2 district games. Don't get me wrong, if the young man were healthy he would have been district MVP, but he missed the final 5 games for Livingston (and they went 1-4 in those games!!!).
 7.
Pat Knight Show will start in January.
Makes since. Give him time to figure out what hes got here.
 8.
I do not have a team in 20-4A, but by reading the honors, Brett Brown for Nederland most be a heck of a player, getting 1st and 2nd team in 3 positions. Pretty impressive. Must be a all- around true football player.
Me thinks you are confussed a bit. Brett Brown made 2nd team FB.  Brett Butler made 1st team Safety and 1st team Punter...Two different kids.
 9.

Congrads to all these young men making the teams,  this is why SETX has such a rich tradition in football. If my addition is correct and my eyes worked right here is the school totals. Nederland 18 Ozen 15 Vidor 12 PNG 10 Livingston 8 LCM 7 Lumberton 6 Central 4 I appologise if i missed anything but, what a outstanding showing from all our district.
I'm happy for the kids that made the all district team, but 80 players making all district, that's 10 players per team in an 8 team league, so half the league is all district ?  It just doesn't mean what it use to.
Exactly. What happened to picking one player at each position, 1st team and 2nd team? When did everyone get a participation award.
 10.
A "lobo" is a LONE WOLF..Not a pack of wolves..do a little research.  lol
Great point...Which begs the question, why would anyone name their TEAM "Lone Wolves". Makes no sense? I love all these guys that come on here and post about "their" team. They are fans of the top teams each year, yet when those teams have down years, they become fans of the next top program. It's easy to jump on and off a bandwagon!!!
 11.
I'm not buying into the Jakobi Jones MVP over Montana Quirante. Montana only had 500 yards less rushing, threw for 200+ yards, led his team three rounds deep into the playoffs and even punted the ball on occasion and was only the Defensive MVP of 20-4A (let's not forget he was also starting linebacker)? I'm sorry, is something wrong with my math? Not taking anything away from Beaumont Ozen but they needed Mr. Quirante's heroics to even get into the playoffs. Sorry if I sound a little jaded but I just don't think Jakobi deserves it over Montana. Trey Green was a bigger leader for the Panthers. BTW, I don't have any children that play for the Pirates....I just think Montana had a stellar year and should have been rewarded.
This team was picked before the playoffs started. I think had they waited, Green would have gotten MVP. He led Ozen to victories over a 9-1 District Champ and a 12-0 State Ranked DC and gave them a shot at the 2010 State Runner Up.
 12.

IMO the player who won MVP deserved it. IMO MVP should be the player that proves that there team would not be where they are without that person. Yes I know that Montana Quirante proved to be very important to his team but IMO we could've wen't just as far as we did with the other qb choice.
I agree that the other qb could have done a lot of the same things and maybe even throw better but from watching the games I think Montana was the glue that kept the team together
I have to agree, but Jones was not even the MVP for Ozen. They had Jones early in the season while Green was hurt and how did they do? You could stop Jones and Ozen would still win. Stop Green and Ozen Lost! Quirante was very good for Vidor, but I agree Powell could have done the same thing for that offense. Which is why I was suprised that Collins got 2nd team QB over Miller!  Collins should have gotten 1st team DB. Now defensively it's hard to argue against Q for Defensive MVP.
 13. Lot of good candidates this year. You know it's a good year when a QB posts these numbers 63% - 2250 yds - 18 tds - 9 ints and 375 ryds and 2 tds and doesn't even make the team! Still thought Green should have been MVp and he prooved it in the playoffs??
 14.
Bryant Mcclendon Fs from Livingston should have been on the list. Led the district in Int's
Yes. Had to have been an oversight. He had 6 or 7 int's.
 15.
Nederland is loaded with underclassmen and a great freshmen group, so I think we will see the dogs going deep into the playoffs for a few more years, remember when you get this far you have to have some breaks go your way and the dogs didn't get any tonight.     Thanks to the seniors for leading this team back to prominance in the region and setting the bar high for next years group.    I think this team has 17 to 18 starters coming back, can't wait till next year.
Exactly...Ive been saying for a while that this is just a prelude to a series of deep runs for Nederland with each one going deeper than the one before up until this freshman class graduates. Great season with lots of extra practices for all those underclassmen.
 16. Da Butch sux. Horrible sightlines from uper deck. Cant see sidelines. LU is much better but I hear they are out charging themselves, which makes no since! Empty stadium = 0 revenue.
 17. Sure hope they tee this one up at Lamar.
 18.
Titans win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  24-14.  4th round for the first time for a PA school since '86......
That would be SFA vs Cameron Yoe in the QFs in 86. One of the best HS football games I ever witnessed. Kenny Ford! Unfortunately ran into Cuero and the Robert Strait freight train in the semis.
 19.

Weather channel shows it to be pouring in Houston. Not going to stop me from going, but is it as bad as it looks on radar?
I would think that may be an advantage for Nederland.  It may slow down Dawson's passing attack some, and make them have to run into the teeth of the Dogs D.
If the Dawson QB can throw a wet ball, it is usually the advantage to the passing team because the receivers know when they will be breaking and cutting, the DB's dont. Usually see more DB's slipping than WR's as a result.
 20. Manvel has almost 1000 more students than Dayton. Gotta figure for every 100 students youll have 1 big talented kid. That means Manvel would have about 23 of those athletes and Dayton 14. With good coaching they shoul win most games. Same can be said for LT.
 21. Great season Pirates. You young men have given your hometown something to rally around in light of the recent events and you have made memories for yourself and your fans that will last a lifetime. See ya nxt year .  Go NDNs (had to throw that in there)  ;D
 22. Running Vidors offense, you have got to complete the few passes that they will attempt against the teams deeper in the playoffs. Especially the wide open ones.
 23.
Spell it right . I have never even heard of these  backwoods "want a bes"
Nobody who is actually from the sprawling metropolis of Angleton would call anyone else "Backwoods"!!!
 24. Correct Trey did play against PNG. PNG just did a good job of keeping him in the pocket and throwing off his back foot. He is at his best when he is moving toward the line of scrimmage. He threw two int's that night. one of which Romero returned 95 yards for six. Make no mistake about it, Nederland is the best team in 20 4A this year. What they did that the others didn't was make a play to win games late against all three of the other playoff teams from 20-4A. That is what makes a Champion! They did it from game one against WOS. And as we saw Saturday they did it again. Having the confidence that you will win it if you keep it close late and having the defense to do so is a big plus for Nederland. To add to that on the flip side, PNG threw a pick late to lose by a point to Crosby, fumbled in Livingstons territory with a chance to tie late, missed on 4th and inches inside the 20 late to possibly take the lead on Nederland and threw a pick in the endzone to beat Dayton.
