1. Thats three straight halves of 50+% shooting. All since the departure of chunk it up Mike James. I heard Knight after each game earlier talking about poor shot selection. I think this was one of the problems Pat had with James.
 2. Looks like PAM needs to not give up 34 points!
 3. No...The Nederland kids were eligible once the suspension was lifted. They did not participate until that point. Suspensions can be and often are lifted early for one reason or the other and there is nothing illegal about it.
 4.
I don't care about Nederland or Nederland kids and what went on there. Beat me on the field legit and I'll take it and go home and try to get better so it won't happen again. Cheat me on the field and I'll never get over it and remember it forever.
OK...So not sure how this is being cheated on the field. They didn't use an older player or kids from another district. They used the same kids that they had used all year long. So you weren't really "CHEATED" on the field.
 5.
I've heard about stuff like this happening at the beginning of the playoffs but we're 3 rounds deep now....This could be interesting if it was something that should've been caught a couple of weeks ago...
Nah...This happens all throughout the playoffs. Remember the 5A state title game several years back when one team was suspended and the other (SA Macarthur) was notified on Thursday that they would play Midland Lee on Saturday. Team had to re-issue equipment and got one full practice in. Got blown out 54-0.
 6.
keep gettin to many of those jc pick ups and they will continue to disappoint.jmo
Ask Auburn what they think about JC pickups!!!
 7.
Great all around performance! Our bigs played great! The cancer that is mike James is gone so hopefully the team is better and less distracted!
Is he gone for good? Anyone have any specifics?
 8. Hoka Hey is an old indian battle cry.
 9. Didn't EC win last night also? Then there were 6!!!
 10. Osas was a beast down low on defense. If he continues to improve, Cards will be tuff in the SLC. He not only blocked shots, but he redirected a lot of shots and created a lot of misses. Shot poorly in the first half, but much better in the second half. Defense looks good! Harper was good tonight. Heard James was suspended?
 11.
Great job Ozen 20-4a 2 and 17-4a 0
Make that 20 4A 3  and 17 4A 0 Nederland just won also.
 12. I would have to vote Green and Q as Co-MVP's. Especially if Green leads Ozen to a W over the Cubs who are one of the top 4A teams in the state.
 13.
He needs to tell Doty up at Oregon to suck up to his coaches and show some interest in him so we can bring the PNG Combo up with the Ducks!! wouldnt that be awesome! ;)
Nah, they need to both play somewhere down here where we can actually watch them! ;D
 14.

Has PNG seen a decrease in knee injurys since they seem to be the ones that use them? Just asking because I don't know the answer.
PNG 2009 and 2010 offensive lines only suffered one knee injury combined. It came in the playoffs last year to the center, Parks. If I'm not mistaken it came more from hitting his knee on the ground extremely hard and not from a typical reason. They are very effective, but very expensive.
Stasinos #75 (RT) tore one of his CLs (A or M not sure) his Soph year then sprained the other this season.
 15. Not so Whoa...Hightower was in the state title game a couple years back and NS is not the NS of years past.
 16.
Very reliable source says that l.neuman is interested
Neuman would be nuts to A. Get involved with that group (school board) B. Leave Big Ned with what they have in the pipline the next three years. As good as the dogs have been this year they will be progressively better the next three years.
 17.
And what D1 Brenham player actually did anything in college or pros? Jarret Lee is a below average hand the ball off QB.
Cooper had a pretty darn good pro career...In the MLB! ;D There have been some pretty good linemen did well in college you just dont here much about them because, well, there linemen! Point being in all this is that Rivals is not the end all be all of talent. There are a lot of kids that aren't heavily recruited because they were not on the radar screen early on, but they turn out to be damn good D1 players. One thing also is that if Nelson or any kid gets on the radar of a major program (UT, OU, LSU, Bama, USC, etc.) then his ratings imediately go up! Why?  Because they are paying for these recruiting sites and the alumni of those programs don't want to see them recruiting some 2 star kid! 2 stars become 3 stars and 3's become 4's, etc..
 18.
look I know you love your guy and that's great.  Please get on Rivals or Scout and look at the size speed and highlight tapes of receivers who have committed to SEC schools.  I hope that he has a chance to play college football so you can continue to follow him.  Just not sure why you have to go to such extremes.  I know it is going to shock you, but being an outstanding player for PNG does not mean that you are one of the best in the country.  You are doing the young man a diservice by making such statements.
I'm a realist. I have posted on here before that I think he could play and produce at a high level in the CUSA or MWC. Is he a Big 12 or SEC talent? Could be. He has skills comprable to Jaxson Shipley, but he doesnt have the hype Shipley had due to his brother. I think he would be a great fit at UH or SMU the way they throw the ball. I also know that PNG does not produce big time D1 talent year in and year out, but the past two years we have seen a couple of special players in Doty and Nelson. Doty is now at Oregon. He may never see the field, but he has impressed on scout team as a red shirt fish according to the Ducks staff. He is another one I thought would have excelled at UH, SMU or even La Tech.
 19. 6'1" and could go 200 lbs in a D1 weight program with legit 4.5 flat speed and a knack for making plays. Great hand eye, fights for the ball and usually wins, super route runner and blocks down field with the best of them. Not sure what folks are waiting on? If he ends up at Lamar...They got a steal!
 20. Blew it with that 3 attempt down 1!!! Something Knight talks about after each game...Poor Shot Selection.
 21. Not sure if the increased effort and imphasis on defense has resulted in poorer shooting, but I'll take it. As was the case Friday night, the team as a whole did not shoot well, but the defense kept them in it and gave them the chance to win it in the end, which they did. The shooting will improve. When it does I see good things in the SLC. If we hold teams to under 70 PPG we will win a vast majority.
 22. Ozens defense was good enough last night to beat the 19 4A District Champs! Brenham gets respect because they earn it! Hint...Hint...Ozen may not beat Brenham, but they will not be a push over either. They will give Brenham more trouble than the Hill would have because they have the athletes to matchup and run a mutlidimensional offense that can score quickly and can make Chicken Salad out of Chicken poop when things break down.
 23.
Just a few years ago BH moved up to 4A due to the phenominal growth in West Chambers Co. The Eagles always fought hard in every game but struggled at times. Now, BH goes 9-1 and is the District 19 4A Champions. Think about that!
Southlake Carroll moved up from 4A to 5A and won a state title year one. Others who have moved up and done well early on: Smithson Valley Denton Guyer Cibolo Steele Aledo I am sure I could go on. Point being BH has been 4A for more than a FEW years. Been going on six or seven years now and have yet to win a 4A football playoff game, yet to read their posts you would think they were 4A kings. Especially the way they downgrade everyone else. Making the playoffs in this era is not that big a deal. Winning once you get there is!
 24.
We had well over 200 fans that's a huge stadium, but it wasn't the normal showing mainly because a huge core of our fans work shift work, and can't go watch a football game on a Thursday night, unless they have a kid.
Shift Work?? Yeah right and nobody from this area works shift! Did you not notice the chemical plant and refinery that were right behind you last night...They were still running! Didn't shut'em down for the football game.  ;D
 25.
This really could be an interesting game...I promise you that Ozen is considerably better than the Crosby team that I saw last night, although I realize that things can change from week to week
One thing that Ozen and Crosby do share is inconsistency. If the late season Ozen shows up it will be a good game. I will say also the Ozen trio of Green, Jones and Nelson are better all around the then the Crosby trio of Walters, Walters and Scott. Green is a legitimate QB, Walters throws well enough to get by.
