  1. I agree. For those complaining about the coaching, go back an look at how much this team improved game in game out. That doesn’t happen with poor, decent or even above average coaching. Congrats to all involved in that program this season.
  2. 80’s were the “Strait Train” Robert Straight days. They took out my SFA Eagles in 87 I believe(Semi-Finals). That SFA team woulda won State had it not been for Straight.
  3. I can see BH getting it’s share of “recruits” in the years to come. Great schools. Money. Away from Houston. Growing. Room for expansion. Excellent facilities with room for growth. Good academics. The only thing missing is apartment complexes for those that can’t afford the $300K+ price tag on owning a home in Mont Belvieu. Is Westerberg from MB area?
  4. Here we go again with the taking of the knee. That’s something coaches did in Pop Warner to keep kids from running around when someone’s injured and getting in the way of trainers, EMT, etc.. Taking the near adult kids to sideline is more effective. Look around, no one else does this take a knee for respect thing. I’ve watched lots of college and NFL games and don’t see every player on both teams huddle up on a knee when an injury occurs. In fact only time you do see it in the NFL is for prayer in a significant injury requiring a cart. Petty! How about entertaining game between two battle tested teams. Good luck next year Tigers and next week Goblers.
  5. Double Eagle Allen 30 Newton 29
  6. There’s a significant difference in moving in junior high or before freshman year and moving in after you’ve been a varsity starter for another high school. But again it is what it is. Best players want to play with best players (see Kevin Durant).
  7. It happens alot. See Katy Tigers. This year FB Marshall. Lake Travis got PNG’s top returning 2 year starting lineman a couple years back amongst others. Problem is, if they move in and get releases and approval’s then what else you gonna do. Winners wanna play with high profile winning programs. This is why Alabama has 5 stars on bench instead of starting at 90% of the other NCAA establishments.
  8. Yup. Allen, DVille and Northshore would each be a shoe in State Champ almost any other year. Duncanville vs Northshore next Saturday night.
  9. Duncanville beats Allen. Mark it down. That defense is special. This could be the best final 4 in 6A history with these 4 teams.
  10. DAAAMN!!! Congrats Eagles.
  11. Actually passing teams have a bigger advantage on a slippery field because WR’s know where they’re going and DB’s tend to slip more in those conditions.
  12. Reservation is available Thursday night. lol
  13. FBM 34 HVille 21 Just too many elite athletes on this FBM squad. Marshall Mavs had a few good athletes, but not at the level or as many as the Buffs come at you with.
  14. PNG played both of course at different points of season, but I saw Huntsville last week and they looked tough. FB Marshall wins Region 3. And maybe state. God they’re fast.
  15. What a douche bag. I hope failure finds his way often going forward begining today. Mark my words, Kyler Murray will never sniff the Majors.
  16. And Shug would not have stayed at PNG. DLong days were because of MLong calling plays. Folks forget how vanilla it was after he left.
  17. No it doesn’t.
  18. That’s misleading. Against Houston teams, they gave up next to nothing and most of what they did give up was late with backups in. Against better comp, they were an average D, but they scored alot. Quick score offenses usually do give up fair share on defense, but a 56-35 W is just as good as a 21-7 W!
  19. I hear ya, but I guarantee you those same folks saying “this is just HS Football” would be calling for the Head Coach to be fired if Huffman wasn’t winning!
  20. And Marshall Mavericks won’t beat Huntsville. I predict a 35-21 Hornets W.
  21. Concerned that our WR’s will get no separation from Marshall DBs and we all know our wounded O Line can’t hold a block long enough for any QB to dance around waiting for 3rd and 4th options to come open.
  22. Silsbee and WOS may be the most battle tested 4 loss 4A teams in Texas. Looks like it’s paying off. Silsbee losses: 10-2 PNG (5A still playing), 11-0 Newton (3A still playing), 10-2 Nederland (5A just out), 8-4 WOS (4A still playing) WOS losses: 10-2 Nederland (5A just out), 11-0 Newton (3A still playing), 12-0 Jasper (4A still playing), 6-4 Crosby (5A before they lost Howard). Congras to both.
  23. These two high powered offenses go at it on the turf in Baytown (Stallworth Stadium) next Friday night at 7:30. Battle of blue chip QBs. FB Marshall will have the most tallent PNG has faced since the Manvel team from 5/6 years ago. Could this be another last team with the ball wins like PNG/Crosby circa 2017? Can PNG slow down the track team the Buffs will put on the field? Will the PNG O Line give Shug time to find the open man as the Buffs secondary will no doubt close the gaps quicker than anyone PNG has faced to date? #1 seeds prevail in Region 3 each in convincing fashion.
