Why did Adams only play like 2 minutes in the 2nd half???  He was hot in the 1st half!!!! Not sure of his rotation strategies..........don't think he knows either!!!
I questioned the rotation myself. BTW, I think Lamar is the only college team in the country that has a 52 point player coming off the bench. ;) Roc simply got out coached in those last two minutes.
James dropped 52 on a horrible DIII team. Look at what he did last night against a fairly good Low Major DI team. 1-6 from the floor with 3 turnovers (one of them very costly) and no assists in 17 minutes. The bigger question is why have Harper and Miles regressesd in the past few weeks?? I agree, the Roc experiment is done!
 2. 2010 had to have been the year of the QB in SETX! I know 20-4A was stacked with'em Good looking list. Good Luck Seniors. How many underclassmen on the list?
 3.
In my view Roc had a good x & o assistant coach and let him get away.  The one that came in with Lamar Sanders, Todd and Nabors and then left to go back to JUCO head coaching.  I don't think Roc's ego can have someone on the bench that we the fans know is a better game coach.
Don "Bubba" Skelton!!! That's who I will lobby for the job if Roc is out. In eight seasons at Northwest Mississippi CC, Skelton posted a sparkling 198-56 (.779) record and guided the Rangers to the NJCAA National Tournament in Hutchinson, Kan., five of the last six seasons, including four consecutive trips. He has also led Northwest to five Region XXIII championships, five District 16 titles, two MACJC state crowns and five MACJC north division championships. (His overall head coaching record is 322-161, a winning percentage of .667.) Before JCJC. In his first season at Jone County JC in 2008-09, Skelton piloted the Bobcats to a 24-5 record and their first MACJC state championship since the 1945-46 season. It was the fifth overall state championship for the Bobcats. Last year, the Bobcats compiled a 17-10 record and advanced to the semifinals of the Region 23 Tournament. NW Miss was horrible before he took over. As was Jones County JC were he has been the past three seasons.
 4. Wing T can work at the 3A and lower levels. I think the lower you go in classification the better it works.  Watch 4A and 5A and you will see very few teams that win deep in the playoffs with any of the Wing or Bone offenses. The reason is that the number of Athletes is greater the higher up in class you go. Therefore it is harder to weardown teams that can rotate in DLine and even LB that only play one way and are very good athletes.

I doubt 01, they really got off to a lousy start, so not sure if they cracked the rankings during the 10 week regular season??? Don't matter when you're in the state semi-finals though.
The '99 team with Sullivan was 9-0 and ranked 9th when they came to the Reservation. PNG was 8-1 (lost a nail bitter to WOS). The Dogs left unranked and 9-1 after a 31-8 beatin'!
Wasn't that the year you met Stephenville and Superman? Ned then proceeded to reel off three straight....35-10 ring a bell? I remember Ned being ranked as high as #8 in the early going. The only ranking that matters is when the season is over.  ::)
Yes it was the year PNG met Stephenville and Superman in the STATE TITLE GAME. I honestly can't remember the last time PNG was actually in the top 10 of the state polls. Of course the polls are weeks 0-10 only. In 99 we obviously finished the season top 10. 35-10 does ring a bell..It's one way to get back from Austin! ;D

 7. Isn't it funny how every year there are a multiple players in Roc's "Doghouse".  Roc has a bigger ego than most of the kids he recruits, which makes me wonder who's doghouse he is in? I have no problem with James comming off of the bench as long he is getting 20+ minutes! Starting is not an issue, PT is the issue. You can be the 1st guy off the bench and play more than the starters, especially as a gaurd since he could play any of three spots. But you gotta go with the guys that are hot.
 8.
I don't understand it either. He continues to start Miles and Harris who are both under 6-0 and they both aren't good shooters from the perimeter. Neither would start for most teams in the SLC but for some reason Roc keeps them in the starting line-up. We aren't great in the post either and our defense isn't very good but you better have a few guys who can light it up from the outside. James, Adams and Davis can hit for a pretty good percentage from the 3 point line.
You do realize that Milk Harris is shooting over 45% from 3 point range and leading the team??? Also Adams is streaky from behind the line. He is shooting around 32%...I wouldn't call that "Lighting It Up" James should get more PT and maybe even start over Miles, but Harris has prooven so far this year to be an improved perimiter threat. They key for me right now is narrowing down the bench so that the guys with the hot hand each night get the most PT. It drives me insane when Roc has a guy that is hot and he pulls him never to see the court again or until it's too late. A few weeks back Brazier scored at will down low against Canisius and he took him out early in the second half and didn't put him back in until the 2 minute mark when the game was already out of hand and the inside game was an afterthought.
 9.
If you listened to the post game interview, Roc said his maturity level has improved.  It is only perception but Roc puts more importance on practice performance than on game performance as to who will start.  He also indicated that if things are going well he is not inclined to take a player out of the game.  So if Mike doesn't make Roc happy during practice and the starters don't perform poorly then it sounds like there is not a plan to rotate players to maintain intensity and give the starter proper rest.  So I don't expect to see 30 minutes of play time for him every game.
That's interesting because Dawkins and Sanders played 30 minutes a game the last time we had a good team! Imagine that, you start your best players and let them get into a rythm and they win. Novel concept.
 10.
Morgan was at Copperas Cove and Texas High before Carthage. I'd say he has been at some pretty good places, I was also told he comes from a family of coaches with two brothers,  one in the NFL and the other at Lufkin or Longview not sure which.
If that's the case then you are correct. CC and Tx High have had some pretty darn good QB's in the past 6 years (RG III and Mallet)
 11.
no doubt that this is well deserved.  not exactly sure about neuman resume, but valastro has one state championship as a hc and two or three as an assistant (oc).  both coaches will represent se tx with class.
Well deserved. Neuman is one of the winningest coaches in SE Texas over the last 15-20 years.
 12.
The guy is 29 years old.  I'm not sure if it matters to all, but it would matter to me.  What do yall think?  Not saying he isn't the best guy for the job, but i would find it hard to believe even if he has 3 state championships that he had all the knowledge it take to be succesful.
Faircloth was anly 31 when he came to PNG a couple of years ago...and I for one couldn't be happier with him. The key is what contacts they have to assemble a staff. Faircloth had been at Austin Westlake, Highland Park and Odessa Permian before getting the PNG job and was a graduate of Brownwood (HS Coaching Factory). So he had made a lot of friends in the business from winning programs that he was able to create his staff from. So the only drawback to being young is the lack of time to develop those leads. I would say if the guy has only been at Carthage it might be riskier.
 13.
Game was 44-36 LU at half....... ::) ::) ::)
So we actually made the proper halftime adjustments?? Who wants to bet James won't start the next game and will play less than 10 minutes? ;D
 14.
Very good assessment!  You hit all the points on one post.  karma for you.  (I can't believe I'm giving props to a PN-G guy!   ;D ;D )
Just think of me as a SE Texas guy...With strong PNG roots! It'll make you feel better ;D
 15. I have to agree with Green as the best QB in 20-4A 2011. He may not end up with the best overall stats and team wins, but he will be the best QB. Mitchell (Cen) will also continue to develop as will Raines (Ned). The Collins kid from Livingston will be very good under center as well, he may lead his team to a DC, but won't have big QB numbers because of the offense. Not sure who will lead LCM (big shoes to fill) or Lumberton. PNG's new QB (Miller) will be more of a running threat than Doty was, but won't throw the ball with the accuracy that Doty had and he didn't get on the field much at all last season as a product of PNG's defense. In all it won't be the year of the QB like this year was, but it will be dynamic with Green and Mitchell.
 16. It would ruin Texas HS Football.  The Privates would dominate and interest from loyal public HS football fans would wane. The reason that Kelly is not dominant in this area now is because they don't get to play in the UIL playoffs which is the pinnacle of TX HS FB. Thus they are not able to recruit as well like they do in LA, Ohio, Fla, NJ, Cali and others. If you were a top FB player at say WOS or WB, would you rather play in the under publicized private school state title or possibly play in the UIL playoffs? Easy answer, but if Kelly were allowed to play for the same UIL title, then the best area talent would love to play together making the odds of playing for that UIL title much greater. Imagine if the top talent from WOS left for Kelly. What would that do to WOS football and it's fans?
 17. Even if LM were to be below the 4A enrollment number, they still could opt to play up due to travel costs. Not a lot of 3A schools nearbye. Unless the Houston teams that are currently under the 4A magic number decide to drop to 3A and LM joins them. Not very competative district, but they are closer.
 18. Who cares anymore?
 19. Don Skelton! Since he left town the offense has been non-exisitent. He left because he couldn't deal with Roc. The guy has been a very successful HC in the JC ranks turning the NW Miss Program into a regular title contender, then when he left NWM they dropped. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Last night Brazier scored everytime they got him the ball down low. He was way to quick for there inside game and Minor was shooting bullets from outside, yet with 3 minutes left in the game they were both sitting on the bench. Brazier finally comes in at about the 2 minute mark and Minor never saw the floor again? Go figure. Start the game and the 5 guys on the floor don't produce we get in a early 8 point hole, but we finish the half hot with Brazier and Minor on the floor. so he starts the second half with the same 5 that started the game and bam back in the hole again!!!
 20.
I do not belive there was a black started on LT. Idk why, but only .5% are black and 90% are white. Its just the demographics of the school population. On a side note LT indoor pracrice field and the largest high school wieght room in the country.
Wrong...Two starters, both high impact guys. 9 Shaquille Marable (Defensive End that was all over the place) 18 Omar Duke-Tinson (DB)
 21. Once again 4 of the top 6 are private schools with big budgets!!! ;) Funny they have LT in the top 50, but no Aledo who went undefeated including a W against LT!

Gave you an answer 77
No, my question was where have the great running backs of the last few yrs gone?
Cook went DII and had a decent career from what I recall...Someone help me on the numbers. Hemmings played Safety at McNeese. Harmon is a Freshman at Lamar. Bertrand won't be heavily recruited next year because he ain't big (he'll play at 5'9" and around 200 lbs in 2011), and he ain't real fast (he'll run a 4.6 probably next year), but much like some of the others from above when the pads are on he is a player. Nelson will get some interest I am sure at the FCS level in 2012. He is 6'2" with decent speed (4.6), amazing hands and the ability to go get it! Peveto is only a Sophomore, but at 6'3" 200 lbs and growing (I suspect he will play LB at 220 pounds by Sr. yr) with very good speed for his size, I suspect he could be the first big recruit we have had in some time. There is another intriguing Sophomore that was on the team at years end with the size and drive to get some looks down the road as well (Reasons at OL is 6'3" 250 and growing). If he grows like his brother and ends up 6'5" 280+ he will be a beast. I hear unlike his brother he has a passion for FB!
Let's be perfectly honest, Bertrand won't be heavily recruited because he is a 5'9" WHITE running back.  If he were black the 5'9" would not matter.
Nah...If he was a 5'9" green RB with 4.4 speed it would not matter! Or if he was a 6'2" 235 lb chartreuse RB it wouldn't matter.

 24.
This is going to be a fine job for someone.  With the talent Jasper normally has.  They should get better.
From what I have heard the Dawgs have an outstanding group of Freshman and Sophs. Several played at the Varsity level this year.
 25. Should have an 11 man rotation. Starter    -      2nd              C - Custer      Brazier F - Harper      Nelson G - Davis        Adams      Minor G - Miles        Lamb        Minor G - Harris        James Brown, Lynch, D. Harris, Ebomwonyi very little PT.  Brown has been bad. Go look at his numbers! Why he keeps getting starts is beyond me?
