1. LT will not 5 Peat. Aledo will 3 Peat. Gray and QB Bishop returning! I predict Aledo and LM go at it again next year in DII.
 2.
There is no way Lamar should have lost to ULL after having a 12 point lead and they were 1-8 with a lost to Texas College last week!
There is one big way...BOB MARLIN IS A BETTER COACH
 3. We are watching the top two RB's in the country for 2012...WOW! This is fun TV!
 4. You see these QB's transfer out of big time programs as Juniors and Seniors, but to get one with four years of eligibility is huge! Especially in such a young program.
 5.
I thought the topic was about Forney committing to Lamar. Obviously his work ethic is not an issue with Lamar. But what gets me is i've been on this sight for a couple of years and every time somebody mentions this kid name somebody has something negative to comment about this kid. What concerns me is what has this kid done to deserve all this criticism. Instead of commending him for furthering his education, you sit there and find some wrong in everything he does.  So  from across the tracks are not, this is somebody's child. I can bet some of the people that's hating on him are the same one's who smile in his face and pat him on the back for a job well done. I hope he doesnt pay attention to this mess that people post about him.
Hopefully for his and Lamar's sake he does pay attention and works his tail off to proove everyone wrong, myself included.
 6.
The Backup RB that you are in reference to will probably be starting next year.   ;D
Yes, I thought so...He will make people forget about Heard quickly IMO!
 7.

What did Hall or Heard do against PNG their senior years??
What does that have to do with this discussion?
??? Hall tore PNG up. He was and I am sure still is a rare talent. Heard did not. IMHO he spends too much time dancing around in the backfield. When it works it pays off big, but against Humble the other back impressed me more because he hit the hole with some athority and always moved forward. I thought if the other guy had gotten more carries Central would have played FWood!
 8.
The AP all state teams are usually a joke. They only go off of hype and pub. Look at the 3A AP all state team, littered with Brownwood players. Best example of how silly the AP all state teams have been was a few years ago whe the AP named Nederland's Dravannti Johnson the state class 4A Defensive player of the year and he didn't even make 1st team all district that year. All hype and pub, nothing really legit.
You are correct. It is usually littered with top recruits. I have always thought that the Texas college coaches had some pull in getting there top recruits on the list to bolster there appeal to the alums!
Where is Dobbins' name on this list???  Surely that cannot be right?
Dobbins only made HM because he was injured most of the year.
But for now, it's still funny.  Heard and one of those RB's from Livingston (both state playoff teams) had 1,000 yard backs.
1000 yard backs at the state level are a dime a dozen you know that. It takes 1500+ to get any recognition.
 9.
Battles are good but there might be too much wasted talent on the bench.Miller is 6'4" 220lbs and can run a 4.6 he only saw the field to take a knee.
Travis ain't that big. Travis is 6'3" 195 and I dont know about a 4.6 but he is much more of a run threat than Doty was. From what I hear he is also #1 in the Jr. Class. I am guessing that some think that Peveto will get a look at QB. I heard he played QB at OF before transfering and playing defense this year as a Soph. He is big 6'3" 205 and growing and has good spead as well, but this Junior class has won a lot of football games over the years with T. Miller at QB.
 10. Yankees and Mets have moore revenue because they draw from a TV market of over 20 million! Boston and Philly also have large Media market because of there proximaty to NYC. Chicago and LA are also large media markets (10-15 million). Houston, Dallas, SF Bay area and SD should compete, but most of the other 20+ teams can't.
 11. Finally a guy signs with the team/city he and his family felt most comfortable with! And leaves cash on the table. I hate that the Phills get even better, but Cliff Lee moves up on my list of favorite athletes.
 12. If you plan on signing with a team as a last resort because no one else offers, why tell everyone this?
 13.
Yes, that's real funny.  4 PN-G players, an LC-M player but no Jaguar or Lion Players...   ::) ::)
I am sure they looked at numbers and the guys on list from our area had big numbers. Central really didn't have any standout stats on the state level. Thought Alfred would have made HM DLine. Not to worry Soulja in two years Mithcell will be on this list if he stays healthy.
 14. Congrats to PNG's Lunceford for being selected 2nd team All State. Well deserved! Other Area players on list: Honorable Mention QB - B. Doty (PNG) RB - C. Bertrand (PNG) WR - Z. Sonnier (LCM) WR - A. Jalali (PNG) LB - DJ Schexnieder (PNG)
 15.
This isn't a traditional Marlin team, this team is BAAAD. He inherited some garbage players over there.
Sounds like it. Cards by 10. Have already prooven that they can win on the road this year, which is better than in past seasons.
 16.
it's funny how ya'll can talk about kids like that. How can you say he is not that good when he turn the program around ima laugh at you allcause all ya'll are doing is being jealous cause ya'll couldn't live ya laugh
So he was QB of a team that has been to the playoffs 10+ years in a row and they made the playoffs and lost in the 1st round both seasons. BIG TURN AROUND! Didn't they actually win that 1st round matchup the year before (2008)?
 17.
it is very funny how you all can talk about the kid coach roc offered him in the 8th grade to play it was just on quiet an I can't wait to see ya faces cause he gunna prove all of you wrong just watch and see that's even if he decides to go there ya'll need to mature an find something better to do but for forney the greatness has just begin. Just watch an see I have all my money riding on him.
Is the "Da Chosen One" himself?  ::) If he signs with someone else, then so be it, that's just proof of his character, which has been steadily questioned by people that have played with him.
 18. I wouldn't think that the sitting out another year and having 3 years of eligibility thing would be an issue for him if he still wants to play and showcase his skills at the highest level (FBS). But who knows. I am sure we would all welcome him with very, very, open arms as a Cardinal!!!
 19.
Well, there times when a coach can pull a scholarship if he thinks the young man is not following team rules. I would think showing up and working out would be part of that. Really, Lamar is in a win-win situation here as if Forney was a great leader, loved to work out and was a model player the Cardinals probably would not have had the chance to sign him. Let's just hope he matures.
Excellent points! Upside is big if Woodard can change this young mans attitude because the tools are there. The arm is big as is the rest of the body. If he can slim down and play at 6'5" 225-230 range and learn how to read defenses, he could be a beast. Just a lot of ifs.
 20.
Merka is going to TCU as an athlete not QB. He will not play QB at the next level.
OOPS...I wasn't even counting Merka as one of the 2 commits.
 21.
I hear Doty is going to TCU. I heard TCU,Utah, and STSU have been keeping in contact with him. Have not heard anything on the other's. Yes, Dionte run's the 40 in the 5's. He's 25 lbs. overweight and would be too slow to play DE or TE at Lamar. He has a very poor work ethic. Surely LU can do better than this. No way he can play QB at the D-1 level, way too SLOW!
TCU already has commitments from 2 other QB's. SMU would be a great fit for Doty's game. TCU runs a little more option than most. Not one of Doty's strengths. He needs to be in a spread O and not a spread option.
 22. Johnson to LU would be a major get and could turn this FB program into an imediate SLC title contender. Just think he will go FBS in TX or LA somewhere. ULL, UNT, UH, SMU.
 23.
No, I've read several complaints of the turf they run on at the combine. A lot of players don't like it.
Of course they don't like it. There is not someone in their camp with the clock!
 24. Lot of really good QBs this season in SETX. Can't put them all on the team. I think it's a pretty good list.  Except that Hobbs pick?? I would have picked Alvarez. Moved up from 2A and kept it going.
 25.

Come on, Forney is faster than 5.0 in the forty. He is tall so it doesn't appear he is moving very fast. I bet he runs at least a 4.7.
??? Did you watch him play any? He is SSSSSSSSSSSLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWW. But like I said he has a legit arm. If he plays QB he will be a pocket passer. Sonnier only ran in the 4.6 range! And he was football fast. 6'5" 250 pounders dont run 4.7's very often! I'd be willing to bet Cam Newton will only clock 4.6ish at the combine.
Cam Newton 4.6ish. I'll take that bet and it has to be at the combine where they usually run slower times. Fair? [Hidden Content]
Fair! And they don't run slower times at the Combine...They run legitimate, unbiased times.
