It's kinda like building a new house, one of the last things to go down is the carpeting or flooring. I'm guessing July or August.
Turf is a 3 month process. To be ready be mid-September, they'd have to start no later than mid-June. And that's with PERFECT weather. They need to get going within the next couple of weeks.
Most of the work is done. It will only take a few weeks to put the turf down. From start to finish it may take 3 months, but it has already started so to speak.

When was the last time a SETX team won a state title? Very few have even played in one in the last 10 years. Longview Sulphur Springs Kilgore Carthage Gilmer Just to name a few who have stedily put a beatin' on SETX in the playoffs! This was an easy one.
Maybe but not Kilgore!
Kilgore may not be today, but within the past 10 years they have won as many State Titles as all other SETX teams combined...1 -

Thanks. Looks like HJ North! Donahoe Durley Benard Even got Gulley from Central, who was 3rd team All America as a Freshman this year and NCAA eligible. He averaged 18.5 per game.
I would like to see at least the bottom row of suites have outdoor seating, like two or three rows of seating, so those people in the suites can enjoy the weather, crowd noise and general ambiance of a beautiful fall Saturday. Guess they could always do it in the future.
Says clearly in the article that "The suites will open to the front and will feature motorized windows that can be lowered as desired."
I know this good all too well............he is a good player, but can tell you that he is NOT ready for D1 basketball............he has played HJ and lost to HJ the last three years in the playoffs!!!!! He was never even the best player on the floor.......I would be surprised if ROC was really looking at this guy!!!!!
What ever happened to Ryan Donahoe? Is he still playing? I really thought he would shine at the next level. Did the injury shorten his career?

Astros demote catcher Towles to Corpus Christi
His next move is getting rid of Sean Berry as the NON-HITTING COACH!!!
Yeah, they may want to get someone that could actually hit when he was a player as the next hitting coach. This is not the first time he has not produced in that capacity for the Stros! -
I think this actually is more the sentiments of each teams own fans than it is what the other teams fans think about them. From the article: "Contrary to popular belief, the Yankees are only the fifth-most despised team in the majors, according to an Internet algorithm built by Nielsen Co. that analyzes how people feel about certain things. This service typically uses various keywords to find out whether people have positive, negative or neutral reactions to different brands and products." So that being said I would agree. The Houston Astros fan base is not happy and has not been happy the past few years. It seems that a once proud franchise has become the laughing stock and the powers that be could care less. If you check the blogs and media reports it is nothing but negativity! I decided after last night i would not watch again until some personnel changes are made. I think it is time to see some of the young guns. Why do other organizations bring up 20 year old talent, but the Stros feel the need to wait until they are 25. the only reason I can think of is the Arbitration clock! Which fits with Drayton.

Yep...I've said it before, but all three of the guys we got from coach Skelton in NW Miss were huge assets (Sanders, Nabors and Todd). Sanders and Nabors were great leaders and very fan friendly. You could tell they both loved and respected the game!
Would you care to elaborate? Not being rude, i'm just curious...
Second year head coach who came from a larger program. They always have the atheletes just need the discipline to go with it. Not saying they'll be in the top 4 but they will be improved.
Didn't they also loose their young RB early in the season, who played well as a Freshman the year before??

PN-G football looking for last line of defense
Who were the other seniors they lost at defensive back?
Brandom was the other strarting CB. Gizzi is back. St. Claire and Denzlinger split time at Safety (St. Claire was injured). Denzlinger was not a senior, he was a junior, but suffered a neck injury early in the game against Brenham and will not play football anymore. None of them started the year before. Dunbar and St. Claire were the only ones to see any PT in 2008 and that was very limited. -
Well if he can come in and put up numbers like the last two big men from Cali (Nashid Beard and Jay Brown), then we may have a winner. Size wise he appears to be about the same a Brown.

Atterberry was 4th and started until Forney was healthy. Neumann went through his order like he should have. Forney played exceptionally well.
I didn't see Smith play in person before.. But seen Bellow play (Very impressive) , Atterberry (Not impressive), and Forney (big man showed me something). I'm now interested to see this smith kid in action now...
I didn't see Smith, but many folks from Nederland thought he should have started over Bellows. That says alot.

PNG and Nederland Varsity Runningback
badndn replied to footballmania's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Yes Bertrand will be a Junior next year for PNG. He was the JV RB last year and he spent much of last spring working with Varsity while Harmon was injured. -
I hope Lumberton does at least this well, just not sure. L-Town could do much better if Hughes were moved to running back, Asher is a good kid just not a marquees player. Hughes on the other hand would make an outstanding running back but my understanding is someone close to him whines if he's not QB. Lumberton has a perfectly good back up QB that would make a great starter and personally after watching him run, Hughes I think would do himself much better college wise if he moved, he could be on the level of Hannah or Hussey I think. Just my opinion.
Lumberton's JV QB looked very good last year. Strong arm and command of the game.
I think Roc is going with a smaller, faster lineup next year. Probably one big man in the middle with a lot of big guards/small forwards like Harper, Brandon Davis, etc.
Bingo. Folks forget Harper was pulling down 10+ boards a game before he hurt his leg. That leg injury hampered him the rest of the season.

Fact is the number of FCS draftees compared to FBS is crazy low. In 2008 24 FCS Draftees In 2009 13 FCS Draftees Over 250 players drafted.

As far as Gilmer goes, I think he was just looking 4A.
Then he should have said "only 4A team", not "only team". The other local school was Evadale.
Evadale has a JV???

Of course there are many over here that would argue that Doug Ethridge's name should be somewhere.
Doug Etheridge (IMO) was the greatest PN-G coach since the 70's. Not losing one district game for almost four years in a row, that hasn't been equaled EVER since PN-G's dynasty years from 1974 to 1977. Burnett was good, but he was no Etheridge.
While most would agree from a coaching standpoint about Etheridge, the other factor in Matt's favor is that Matt was big part of PNG football in the 70's as well as a player. -
