1.
I kind of understand, but it seems Trey Franks got scratched from every poll there is. I still think the school board shafted him. I am not condoning what he did, but kids make mistakes. JMO
Agreed 100%. What he did did not warrant the death penalty to his HS career. Congrats to the OC folks. BC, Vidor and LCM are all on the uptick and WOS was young and should be a power in the next several years again.
 2. My mother told me "if you don't have anything nice to say..." well you know he rest. :-X
 3. If you notice on the last play the official was falling down as the WR was trying to gain controll. The official was not looking at the end of the play. He wass getting up off the ground trying to throw up the TD sign. Great game. Fun to watch.

Nowhere to be found.  ???
The real joke is that there are probably dozens of players just as good as Franklin who receive no exposure (smaller schools, less covered areas, etc.) and will not be going anywhere. Atleast he has been given a shot. In addition, those players who do make the All-State team will see their recruiting clout go up tremendously and will, most likely, receive a scholarship to a D1 school. In contrast, many players (perhaps even better players) will never get that recognition and, therefore, never go to any college. It's a big crapshoot and the player with the loudest horn section behind him has the advantage.
And then there are those cases where a highly recruited kid, has a decent senior year, but gets voted to the All State team and in some cases MVP when he did not even make his districts 1st team. The locals recognized the kids that put up the numbers, but all the All State voters just recognized the name.
 5. Without a doubt it is because they are afraid of Kirbyville! So now instead they play Gilmer. ;D
 6.
240 4A schools 24 positions from each school (including punter and kicker) equals 5,760 kids.  There are going to be some good athletes left out.
They really are going to get left out if they keep the ratio of voters from DFW over the other areas combined!
North Texas bias indeed. You cannot tell me that SE Texas, East Texas, Houston area, and Austin/San Antonio area are All that far behind Dallas in terms of talent. Too many pollsters live in that area, they vote for guys they see regularly. Seems to me that they need to get some voters from wider portions of the State.
BINGO!

Last I looked Stump was making less than $80K a year. Same as Washington and Nelson. He will be offered $95K+ somewhere and WB will not be able to counter because it would cost them 45K+ and they are not about to pay Nelson or Washington $95K! He also is not going to be AD at WB. And wherever he goes, he will bring his son's with him. Besides I hear that there is or was another Freshman that started over his son this year??(is this correct?) If Faircloth leaves PNG, it will be for Permian! Of course Permians own Coach Allman who was a Permian allum left for Austin Westlake and $125K a year this year (and they are playing for th state title this weekend). I think if Faircloth gets paid (and PNG will pay) he will stay for a while. The key will be keeping all of the great assistant coaches he brought in (several will be HC candidates very soon somewhere).
Stump Jr was on JV and played about 1/2 the season...he got hurt a week before being pulled up to Varsity....but there was no one else....I wouldn't see Faircloth going back to west Texas...allum or not...unless he gets offered some crazy amount of money...Faircloth will cut out like the Cincinatti coach did for Notre Dame... 8)
Well??Faircloth took the PNG job, then about a month and a half later Allman left for Westlake (which was a shocker to Permian folks). Permian people were very upset because had they known about Allman and the Westlake deal they would have promoted Faircloth (they really liked him alot). As it turns out Permian did not go out and find a young new coach, they replaced Allman with the retired coach from the Friday Night Lights era, which looks like a short term fix while they watch to see if Faircloth has success here. I think PNG would match any salary that Permian put up, but I would say that Westlake money would be hard to match. I'm just glad that we have an influx of great young coaches back in SETX! They are putting us back on the TXHS Football Map.
 8. That was the point. He is a very good smart athlete, but not a QB. Maybe a FS or bulked up to play LB. Definetely not FBS or even FCS. Maybe DII at another position.

A little North Texas bias going on with these teams. ;)
Denison - Semifinalist Denton Guyer - Semifinalist Denton Ryan - Qtr Finalist *I think they earned it
1 from Brehnam (State title game). They had some linemen that could have and probably should have made it (one Sophomore DT that was a incredible). That WR/DB was good, but not the best player I saw on that team! *I think they earned it
 11. T: Greg Lunceford,    Port Neches-Groves 6-6 280            Sr. Wow Greg grew about 3 inches and gained about 30 pounds overnight. He also moved up a grade (he is a Jr.)! I know his dad goes 6'8" and his brother was about 6'6", but Greg is only about 6'3". Not any love for those Vidor Linemen or RB's on any of these teams. Really suprises me. Also quite shocked that Stump got coach of the year. He did a great job and made I nice run and jsut about any other year I would agree, but a first time coach turning around a 3-6 last place finisher into an 11-1 team that lost in a nail bitter to the possible State Champs? Oh Well. Congrats to all these young men and Coach Stump. He is an excellent coach (Just wonder how much longer WB can keep him at that salary?)
 12.
Not committed anywhere but not right sure you can commit tilll your a senior. He has several colleges looking at him but I think he will be going to Texas. BTW I think Jeremy Johnson will be a great fit at West Virginia the kids a beast I wish him the best.
You can verbally committ anytime you want, but as we say all the time it really means nothing. One of the top DL recruits in the nation just last week stated to the local media that he was still verbally committed to U of Miami, but that USF was number 1 on his list?????? So what the heck does that mean? Sounds like he is verbally committed to USF!
 13. He won't play QB in college if he gets any offers.
 14. While I agree that Dunbars playmaking ability will be missed, I think the inexperience at ILB as the guy that keeps the defense straight will be the hardest thing to replace early. remember they are essential the QB on defense. Those two guys were always active pre-snap in getting the Dline in position and play recognition. That takes time to develop. If you think back to most of our really good defenses they had a second year guy at LB. You will probably see the same thing with Central (Hale) and Lumberton (Beard). Notice most posters from those schools are saying the same thing.

 16. I hope all of the girls enjoy the winter break and get everything they want for Christmas. Always good to step away for a while and re-energize those "Softball Batteries"! Looking forward as always to a new year and seeing you gals and guys on the diamond soon enough. Here is to a healthy 2010 to all and to a great, spirited, respectful season coming up. Hope every one has a very safe and sound Holiday season.
 17.
#44 Jacolby Hale His Prove to Me agianst Friednswood with his leadership skills and play, He will be playing somewere big on Saturdays n Sundays..
Utah is were he is verbaled. Not a bad program. Not sure how much he will like the state of Utah. Lot different from SETX in scenary and the people, but the football program is right on the edge of BCS Bowl year in and year out (ask Alabama!)
 18. I know most of you would expect me to say Harmon (and he would be a close second), but I think the Benoit/Kerr duo will be a greater loss. We still have an offensive leader in Doty, but lossing those guys on defense, both two year starters at the ILB spots, means finding a new leader on that side of the ball.
 19. 3 FCS schools?? That's it.
 20.
If you ask team's coach first there will be no misunderstanding about what you trying to do by picking the other's teams kid.
Thank You Mr. Armentrout. That's what I thought and it has always been the policy that we have followed as well.
 21. I'd like to hear from some of you veterans of the Select world on this one, please. Are there any un-written rules when attempting to pick up players from another team for a weekend tourney?
 22. Good Job Thunder. TPS 98 is a very talented group of ladies. Good win. They were the class of the 98's last year winning the USFA 10U State & National Titles and placing 3rd in the very tough ASA National Championship tourney. Some of those girls played for Tx Magic the year before when my DD played with them. Congrats to Maddie, Logan, Bay, McKenzie, Anna, Destiny, Lindsey, Speedy and Hannah (sorry if I left someone out)
 23. West Brook should finally have the team to knock off those Katy schools and make a State Title appearance! PNG QB - Doty RB - ? Bertrand WB - St. Clair WR - Jalali WR - Desmond WR - ? Nelson; Lacour LT - Nicotre LG - Langlois C - ? RG - Braud, Parks RT - Lunceford DE - Schexneider DT - Thompson, Easley DE - Shetley, Wilson OLB - ? #10 Forgot his name ILB - Gloriosi ILB - Davis OLB - ? Stewart CB - Gizzi CB - ? S - ? Jerald S - ? Some very good JV fill-ins from a 10-0 JV to watch for in red

Did I overlook him? That seems odd.
Nope, only local 3A school that had anyone make the teams was Jasper. ::) Again, I have never liked the AP all state teams, always too political.
I agree!!!!!!!!
Yep...I gave up on the AP polls a couple years back when they named Dravanti Johnson 4A Defensive MVP his senior year. He didn't even make 1st team all district (but he was a highly touted UT recruit)!
 25.
If this award is issued based on ability only, the winner has to be Caleb Harmon.
Caleb will be one of the finalist, but Ford will win the WRS this year as well he should. He put up unreal numbers and led his team to the State title game.
