You really think Merka will play in one of the power BCS conferences? He will sign with a CUSA or Sunbelt school!
 2. Last I heard he was coming back home next year from Navarro. LU!
 3.

PNG: Westbrook         PAM         Friendswood, Dayton, Brenham, WOS. Not in any particular order, but would be a great non-district schedule and a great warm up for district.
Great chance with that schedule that we wouldn't enter district undefeated like this year but would br much better prepared come playoff time. I like that schedule, make it is a tough one. You get better by playing people better than you.
I don't see WB playing 3-4A TEAMS in the "NON-district" schedule...I dislike that we play 2....I say the Beaumont Bowl trophy be awarded to the TEAM that goes further in the play offs and let WB slide in a SLC or WESTLAKE....IMO
I would have to agree with you there...The Beaumont bowl thing has WB tied up. They really do need to play a Woodlands, Katy, Elsik, type opponent in their extra game. As far as PNG, I would love to play one of these schools (FWood, Dayton or Dawson). PAM would be great for both schools. And having WOS back on the schedule is always a plus!
 4. Harris finally stepped up toward the middle of the second half and took control. He was a non-factor before then. It looked like he decided to take control as a team leader and began to drive to the basket and make things happen. And Roc and staff began to feed off of that and ran the offense through him in isolation (it worked). Nabors was his usually jumpin jack self, but his rebound numbers were aided also by his poor shooting, or actually by the whole teams poor shooting. Shoot bad and you have more opps for offensive rebounds! Coy is still rough around the basket on offense, but he did a very good job of redirecting those easy baskets that #41 was getting before Coy got in the game down the stretch. Coy had several blocks, but it was his presence as a big man that helped most. This team has got to find a dependable outside shooter or they will not win a game in the SLC!
 5.
the montagne needs a facelift.im hoping it will be painted to match the new stadium.
It matches it now...Dirty White!
 6. Berm seating?? There's always been "Berm Seating". That's just the hills in either endzone. Good lord I hope they are not trying to sell us all on "Berm Seating" as a draw. Sitting on the hill is nice for a kid, but it really shouldn't be considered in as a capacity figure!
 7. For the record I had this team pegged at 15-17 and 5-11 for the season. Not sure that 5-11 will get us in the conference tournament? And I still stand by the 5-11 number.
 8. Gotta protect the home court and steal a couple of road games in conference. If they do so then they win 15-20 this season and make the conference tourney. That would be a great accomplishment for this young group and quite the step in the right dirrection for next year.

 10.

I can hear the chant's from BH now...fire stewart, Fire Stewart, FIRE Stewart, FIRE STEWART, FIRE STEWART, FIRE STEWART, FIRE STEWART, FIRE STEWART, FIRE STEWART ;D
Calm down little Indian my post was just an observation Stewart can out Coach most of the programs in this area in his sleep. The man has skills ;D
Yeah I know he has skills. That's the point of both of my posts. The guy is one of the best coaches in the Region and state for that matter...That's why I said that the chants were comming from BH and getting louder...Because as soon as it happened the Hill would gobble him up in a heart beat or at least try like heck!!! It was meant to be funny. You guys take this crap way to serious! Funny that when we wanted to change directions from Burnett last year, all these folks came out against us, saying what a great job Matt had done in 2007 and blah, blah, blah, but I have one question...Why is he still at PNG? Why haven't they been beating down the doors to get him? If Stewert were available, they would be!
 11. I can hear the chant's from BH now...fire stewart, Fire Stewart, FIRE Stewart, FIRE STEWART, FIRE STEWART, FIRE STEWART, FIRE STEWART, FIRE STEWART, FIRE STEWART ;D
 12. Dayton fan's, I know of a boat load of programs that would swap coaches! Fot the first time in years I am happy to say PNG is not one of them, but most around the area would. Go ahead and run him outta town and see how quickly he is gobbled up by a first rate program! ;)
 13.
I thought Lamar was going to be good this year?
Why would you think that? They lost their top 5 scorers from last year! That's 57.1 ppg. They returned 33.5 points per game including two guys that sat out last year. Now what in the above would make anyone think this team would be good this year?
 14.
you have to look at the big picture.lamar is transitioning from mainly a juco based team to a 4yr player based team.last night we had 4 true freshmen play decent minutes(AND RISING).we had 3 soph's play significant minutes(2 of our best players).2 juco's playing there 8th game in d-1.1 jr(custer)played 3 minutes.2 sr's nwevo played 10 minutes(and falling)nabors is our best player, coming off major injury .is playing a ton of minutes.hall is still hurt and he is someone we were really counting on.carter hasnt seen the floor in 2 years and wont.the 2 pfugerville kids will be redshirted.were very young!!!with the exception of nabors we have very little experience on the court.i personally think this is the direction to go.we need kids here for 4 yrs.roc has already got committs from 4 high school kids.we will get better and come conference will be in the mix.
BINGO. I finally like the direction that Roc is going with the team. building a cohesive group that will play together for more than one year. Look at the teams that have had success in the SLC...NWSU a few years back, A&MCC, SHSU all had a core group together for 3 or 4 years. NWSU took their lumps early, but they won an NCAA game that seniro year.
 15. Wow, Guyer and Dawson both exacted some revenge for losses earlier in the season. Nice to win 'em win it counts.
 16. Funny how those obnoxious FWood fans seemed to dissapear!!! txcanes you may not have been one of them but...Go back and look at all the "really classy" dribble that came from FW durring the past several weeks. And you mentioned that the BC fans should not be posting on a game they were not involved in, how about the many, many FW fans posting crap on PNG! Double standard from Stang fans???
 17. Who really expected this group of kids to go on a weeklong trip consisting of Colorado and Hawaii and stay focused on Basketball? I'm in my late 30's and I couldn't focus if I had business in Hawaii. ;D This team will not win on the road much if any this year. We knew that going in.
 18.
::) ::) ::) You guys need a reality check. It's taking yall too long to admit what deep down you already suspect. ::)
Reality is exactly what some of us said before the season started...This is a young team. Don't expect too much. This team would be at best a .500 team, which means they would struggle on the road, but would win at home (because of the youth). And that is exactly what they have done. Remember fans, we have seen this before, but with a team full of Juniors and Seniors...At least now there is some glimmer of hope for the future. Top two players are Sophomores. Some of you seem to think that after 8 games they should be world beaters by now.
 19. How do you pack for that trip! Colorado in December then straight to Hawaii
 20. They don't come out till all teams in the district are out of the playoffs. Usually a week or so after. 20-4A should come out week of the 14th. 19-4A might be a while! Go Broncs!
 21.

Exactly what I thought....when you are a big private school that can recruit you are expected to win.
Unless you're Baylor. ;D
That's funny $h!+ right there! ;D ;D
 22. I thought Utterback for Vidor missed almost the entire season with an injury? or was there two Utterbacks?
 23. What I like is that they are all HS kids. No JUCO. On the Scholarship front, I am pretty sure Roc will be getting back a couple that we lost due to NCAA academic violations from a few years back.  Rock has not been cutting players that are on scholarship, that would be commiting NCAA suicide, since they would count against the graduation rates that bit LU before. The guys that are no longer with the team were all walk-ons or non-athletic scholarship students.
 24.
I gotta vote hunter gonzalez for qb. Hardest working kid ive seen all year and prolly the toughest quaterback in the district. He wasnt scared at all to tuck and run it up the middle which he did many times. Can someone give some stats on this kid.
While I agree he was a good player, he was not one of the top QB's in the area this year. He threw for 1647 yards, 10 TD's and 11 ints, but most of that was the bubble screen to Sonnier (in other words he was just throwing the short pass behind the line to Sonnier and Sonnier was racking up the yards (over 900) and TD's (9)). Hunter ran for just over 400 yards, but his average was below 3 ypc. Other area QB's like Reyes, Doty, Forney (great numbers in a short period) and these guys led there teams to the playoffs. Even Hughes at Lumberton, put up better numbers than Gonzales. Hughes had 1651 passing yards, 13 tds and only 6 ints. He also ran for 360 yards and over 4 ypc. And most of his passing yardage came on throws down field. Bad thing for Gonzales is that every kid I named here was a Junior!
 25. Brenhams O Line was large. The Center was probably 6' and 220 and he looked like a midget next to the rest of the line. Everyone but the Center was 6'3" or better and pushed 270+. #90 on defense was a hoss. Only a Sophomore, but very good and huge (6'4" 290+ not exagerating). This kid will be one of the top prospects inthe nation his Senior year. You can throw on Brenham with the right scheme. We had some success in the passing game, just don't try to go deep all game long because the Safety #81 is a ball hawk.
