3.

I agree with Soulja pretty much MVP: Harmon (PN-G) Offensive MVP: Keith O'Neal (Central) Defensive MVP: Ricky Francis(Ozen) Newcomer of the Year: ? 1st team (skill positions) QB - Doty (PNG) RB - Pittman (Vid) RB - Jackson (Liv) WR - Sonnier (LCM) WR - DeRon (PNG) WR - Brady (Ned)
No Harmon?
Yes I have Harmon as District MVP. You win one of the MVP's they don't place you on the 1st team.
 4. Lumberton really reminds me of the PNG squad from last year. Couldn't hang on to the ball. It's a killer.  Just like Lumberton this year, PNG won early then lost it.
 5. The game in 99 may have been a double header, but I got pictures that proove that most of that 39K was purple. Pictures show 1/2 of the dome purple from top (yes they opened the upper deck) to bottom. I will say that if Nederland made the big dance they would also be in this mix, because just about everyone I know from PNG including myself would be there.
 6. I have to say I just don't see how you justify ranking Dayton with 2 losses over Friendswood with 3 and Crosby with 2? Swap Dayton and Central! And Yates is way over ranked. Who do they play in that district?
 7. I agree with Soulja pretty much MVP: Harmon (PN-G) Offensive MVP: Keith O'Neal (Central) Defensive MVP: Ricky Francis(Ozen) Newcomer of the Year: ? 1st team (skill positions) QB - Doty (PNG) RB - Pittman (Vid) RB - Jackson (Liv) WR - Sonnier (LCM) WR - DeRon (PNG) WR - Brady (Ned)
 8.
First off i would like to say congrats on the top ten for PN-G. Second i do not understand why the associated press has three teams with one loss each in front of PN-G it makes no sense at all. You have #3 ranked Longview (7-1), #6 ranked Dallas Highland Park (7-1) and #7 ranked Hewitt Midway (7-1) in front of PN-G and the Indians are (8-0). No matter the stats, i think PN-G should be at least ranked 5th personally. They are a great football team and they just now make the top ten?????? they need a little more love. come on AP !!!!
Makes perfect sense to me. Longview's only loss was to 5A power Lufkn @ Lufkn. They have beaten defending 5A state champs Allen and play in the toughest district in the state 4A. Wins over defending 4A state champs Sulpher Springs, Texas high and Tyler John Tyler. Highland Parks only loss was to a 7-1 5A Coppell (whos only loss was to Southlake). And they have a great history of winning in the playoffs. Midway I am not sure about?
 9. Callalen's loss to Flour Bluff wass no fluke. Flour Bluff should have had more respect from the pollsters before this win. They are now 7-1 with the only loss being the season opener to a good 5A Houston Lamar team. They have blown just about everyone else out. Abilene Cooper was a 5A power for years that just dropped to 4A. Kerville Tivy has been a 4A playoff regular for years.
 10.
I am more concerned with Mountaineers, Paladins, Spiders and Grizzlies. Can you name which schools I am referring to? All four have been FCS powers over the years...
App. State, Furman, Richmond and Montana. Are you really so self indulged that you believe you are the all knowing of all things football? What a douche.
 11. I thought Lumberton did a good job early of containing Harmon, but they couldn't stop the PNG passing game. Then late in the half and into the second half Harmon was getting big yardage. There were some big hits tonight. Especially from the NDN's. Hence all the fumbles by Lumberton. Good Luck Raiders the rest of the way.
 12.
Outsider with no dog in this game having seen both play this may be a nail biter.Raiders are backed in a corner and will give PNG all they want and some.Still nobody has beat them soundly-all 3 losses were close. If they can play without many miscues on offense they could sneak in a win in their house.Every week there is some upsets and this may be one.Look for Lumberton to lay it all out there and play good defense again w/gang tackling.Indians will be tested in the secondary if they can't contain the QB who can scramble and throw strikes on the run as good as I've seen in awhile.
This is what has hurt us most this year. Teams with a dual threat QB. Viverette at BH was able to move the chains. The kid from TC in the second half started to scrable and moved the chains. Gonzalez from LCM did the same.
Who doesn't have 8 sophomores on Varsity.  ;D We are in the same boat.
Im curious about that as well. My observation is based on reviewing the rosters of the teams we have played. Lumberton has 8 with 4 starting. Of the teams we have played I have not noticed that number to be as high. Since Dayton and Lumberton are relatively smaller 4A schools that may be the norm.
PNG had no sophomores on Varsity before last week. Against Vidor a Sophomore was brought up to backup the LT and the LT got hurt on the first play of the game. The young man went in and did a great job. This week a secon Sophomore was brought up for the Lumberton game. Lumberton's JV QB (#3) has a very good arm and nice mechanic's (left hander). He stood tall in the pocket, didn't look skitsish. We were all impressed. Is he a Sophomore?
 14.
Lumberton is finished. PNG will be the district champs. We probably wont cross midfield. PNG is too big and talented and their coaching staff is top notch. We can only hope to keep it from being a blowout. ;)
Sounds like us last year! We are no body, pay us no mind, yadda, yadda, yadda. :D
?? Have you seen either of them in action? Tony Romo is way more athletic than Tom Brady, but which one would you rather have leading your balanced offense? ;)
:D I'll take Doty over Brady and Romo

Only if he can get the ball to St. Clair regularly. St. Clair makes Doty look good, just like Rice made Montana look good.
Ryan, should you be posting while at school? ;D Or is this Madison?
 16. No one is moving up or down. Smallest school last time was Lumberton just over 1050 and we all know that they have increased in size. Largest school was Central and thyey were a long way from being above 2000.
 17. 18. Now that would make sense. I posted about this on the other thread, but if you have a half dozen or so Houston ISD plus other area schools (Lamarque, El Campo) droping to 3A to form a 7 to 8 team 3A Houston district, that makes sense. Same with Dallas.
 19. I don't see either of the Dallas schools or FW school droping because of the travel costs to play other 3A schools which are a good ways out of town. Maybe the same for Lamarque. Think about it, where is the nearest 3A district to Lamarque? For a struggling ISD more travel is not a good thing. You don't have to drop. You can petition to remain up.
 20. You guys have had us over there several times latley for Homecoming. It is always a treat!
 21. I don't think anyone from PNG that went to the game last year will be taking Lumberton lightly. If you recall in that game last year we (PNG) were in the same position that Lumberton is in now. We had won our first 3 games and then lost 3 in a row (all close) and gave a good Lumberton all they could handle for 4 1/2 quarters (OT). So those of us with any memory know that this is Lumbertons season on the line and they will go down swinging just like we did last year.
 22. It ain't just the inner city teams, it is primarily the GT area 4A and 5A. PNG in 1999 got no love at all. I think it is because of how long it has been since we (the GT) have won a state tittle. We are just not on the big stage enough. I bet if Stowers stayed at Central after last season you guys would have been ranked pre season and maybe now as well. The unknown of the new coach?
 23. I think we end up with a 7 team district. I personnaly hope that we (PNG) can fill that extra non-district with either Memorial or WOS. Love to rekindle some rivalries, sort of.
 24. Based on what I saw out of LCM's run defense against us a few weeks back, Vidor should run wild Friday night. Vidor 42 LCM 21
