  1. The backdraw against the defense when the offense runs the spread is that the teams that run the spread usually throw more and the game is extended leaving the defense on the field more. And when the spread is rolling it can be a quick hitter offense that also gets the defense on the field more, but if the defense can handle it, it is great to have all the points to be able to gamble a little on defense! PNG's defense has been on the field more this year than in years past, but the key has been that we have ZERO two way players and go about 15 deep om defense (lot's of substituting).
  2. Most likely Div II Central - 1537 Vidor - 1430 PNG - 1413 Lumberton - 1064.5 (I wanna meet that half a kid! ;D) Livingston - 1207 If you figure these teams to be in the running.
  3. Wow you folks are gullable. The guy was being facetious.
  4. I know that WOS will be letting school out around noon (maybe 1:00) because they need all the busses for the trip. Could this be why they are not going to HJ on Friday? No bus?
  5. ?? So we steamroll Nederland and drop to 4-1? Nederland is currently 1-3.
  6. I agree with everything in your post Slam! Warning to all of 20-4A don't sleep on the Bears this year. Not you 2008 Bears! They may not make the playoffs this year, but they will beat someone they shouldn't! And next year should be a favorite with all they have returning. Good luck Bears the rest of the way.
  7. And what does that have to do with THIS season? New staff, new attitude at LCM and PNG for that matter. You'll find out soon enough.
  8. LCM above Livingston because they (LCM) can hit from several points on offense, but they may not stop Q when they face the Lions. Haven't seen Livingston so??
  9. I have to agree with you here. Friendswood and Central should be higher than PNG at this point. Looks like everyone agrees on the top 11 which leaves very little in the way of votes left. 25 for #11 to 4 for #12.
  10. 1. Central (Athletic, but gotta get better against the run) 2. Lumberton (Good balance on offense) 3. PNG (Best in the league against the run) 4. Vidor (Not sure if they can just run their way to a DC) 5. LCM (Quick, Good secondary, but can't stop the run) 6. Livingston (One dimensional, very good one dimension in Q) 7. Ozen (Won the battle for the toilet bowl against Nederland) 8. Nederland (Injuries are a killer) I think 1-4 are going to beat up on each other and 5 will sneak up and take out one of the other 3 (not PNG) at some point. Great stuff going forward!
  11. Folks you must not have recognized that the first page of posts on this thread were from three years ago!
  12. You keep thinking that about LCM. They are going to put a beatin' on Nederland this year. You guys lost to OZEN. O-Z-E-N.
  13. Or a down TC. Good Luck Dogs. Ya gonna need it the rest of the season!
  14. The year before last Lumberton beat LaMarque and went three deep!
  15. Red Hots are a strong 97 team and the 97 Rattlers placed third at the USFA World Series this year. High Voltage is another tuff 97 group out of Deer Park. I would loved to have had them all in the 12U bracket.
  16. Not sure if you noticed the land on the visitors side that they just cleared off, but that will be a parking lot when they finish. Next year there will be more parking after the construction. I agree it was an exciting game to watch. LCM will be in the hunt for the next couple of seasons. All they needed was a little attitude adjuster and they got it in Crouch! Hopefully more kids will come out for FB next year at LCM. Had alot of kids going both ways.
  17. The only mistake on that play was your presumption that the refs said he had crossed the plain. That's not what the call was, the call was that he fumbled short of the goal line on third down and the ball was recovered by Harmon in the end zone for a PNG TD which I saw last night on the Channel 6 tailgat show (they must have been right in the end zone cause they got a perfect shot of it)! Go look at the box score, you wont find a Doty 1 yard TD, but you will find a Harmon 1 yard TD.
  18. Now I agree with bashing or personal attacks against an official, but naming an official? Why not? So we can name a coach or even a kid, but not an official? Again you said "NAMING" not bashing. Explain that one?
  19. Where was this game played? Are you serious? Yeah very selective. It's called home field.
  20. And who else in the district should they schedule? :
  21. Agreed Green and Bold! Harmon could have broken some PNG single game rushing records if we would have kept it on the ground all night.
  22. The Angleton Friendswood, Lamarque district is stout this year. 20-4A is not the best, but it is the best top to bottom that it has ever been that's for sure.
  23. Never huddled and they were punting. We did not have 12 meen inside the hashes! Bad call!
  24. Go back and read my post and most PNG fans posts about the teams and you will see that we all gave props to LCM. Don't read just what you want to!
  25. Actually it sounds like they are giving Nederlands Defense too much credit! 31 points would be 6 below the defenses season average. When you are last in just about every defensive statistical category in the district, you gotta expect you ain't gettin' no love from your opponents predictions.
