Lumberton vs. Barbers Hill Predictions?
badndn replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
You know you guys keep harping on the fact that PNG did not pack the house last year in BH, but you do realize that PN and Groves were going under a mandatory evacuation from Hurricane Gustav the next day right? I know of a lot of folks that didn't make the trip because they either had to work in Hurricane prep or were making arrangements for evacuation on Saturday. -
I see the teacher showing the pupil how eats done at the top. An improved LCM bunch takes a whoopin' at the hands of a fired up Stangs' group that finally after all these years might see this as a real rivalry because of the Crouch factor! WOS 46 LCM 14

No PNG has never played a top ten caliber team. Ever. In all these years and all the long playoff runs, PNG has never played a high caliber program that has won several state titles in short periods. Like LaMarque (7 time state champ whom we have played a half dozen times or more and never taken it on the chin like Crosby just did) or like Stephenville (5 time state champ whom PNG gave their best game to in the State title game) or like 4A WOS (2 time state champ whom came up just short in a furious comeback to loose to Ennis in one of those state titles that you mentioned and PNG has played some great games with over the years) or teams like Plano and Permian. Need I go on? I am going to guess you are a young man with very little knowledge of HS football history, thus you get a pass on the above statement. So loosing to anyone like you guys did against Ennis, there is absolutely no way you can put a positive spin on it! Good Luck this Friday and from all of us at the Reservation we wish you and all Cougar fans the safest of possible trips over and back! PNG 31-Crosby 21

Vidor looking for sophmore football games
badndn replied to 23 iso's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
So is PNG. Sounds like they need to hookup. Also Vidor should contact Coach Harrison at Memorial. PNG has scheduled two Sophomore games with them (one tommorow night). -
Miles was listed at 6'1" last year. Nabors was listed as 6'6". Custer was listed at 6'10", but he was taller than that. I thought he was 7'0" by now, because when he stood next to Brown, Worrell and Nwevo it was obvious that he was more than 2 to 3 inches taller than them.

Lumberton vs. Barbers Hill Predictions?

Actually BH was not very big at all, but they were quick off of and to the ball. I expect this to be a low scoring game because both defenses are good. Lumberton 17 BH 14 -
*PN-G vs. Barbers Hill...PN-G Wins/Comments*
badndn replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
COCKY?? And just how did you come by that opinion? Other than the fact that you hate PNG as you have made obvious. Both teams came out the same. Ran through the sign and on to the sidelines. Both programs are classy and pride themselves as such. -
Offensive/Defensive Players of the week?
badndn replied to PhatMack19's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
3 games of stats in the first half. He sat out the second half (when BH scored all their points) with an injury. -
I agree, Penny. That is the "nature" of the game, getting a top notch coach, we as fans tend to think its magic. But we have to remember, its the players themselves, that determine the outcome. With that being said, I saw a lot of improved fundamentals last nite and it excited me. I think Faircloth is doing a good job and has brought excitement to the Reservation. You're not goind to build a program over night, and I think its unfair to Faircloth and the players to judge after the very first preseason game...but then, opinions do prevail. Best of luck to ALL the teams in our district! BTW, Kirby is in my prayers. HOW DO YOU KNOW HE IS A TOP NOTCH COACH HE HAS DONE NOTHING AS A HEAD COACH. Read the post. He said "a top notch coach" not "a top notch HEAD coach". Faircloth's track record as a coach thus far suggests that he is a top notch COACH. The head coach part is yet to be determined, but as a long time season ticket holder I am happy with him and the progress to date.

I have also heard that there is a Freshman QB playing JV that will be bigtime.

PN-G Football Solid In Scrimmage vs. Memorial
badndn replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I think it is great that 1-7 so far (not sure about Livingston) everyone is much better than last year. The district looks stroger than ever, but hopefully someone steps up and makes another deep run this year after playing in one of the tougher districts in the region. -

PAM needs a Head Coach, not a Head Cheerleader......
badndn replied to SFA85's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I said four because I wasn't sure if all 8 shared Berry or if half shared Berry and half shared Pridgeon, which is a great facility in it's own right. But the message was that the new reservation was not designed to rival those facilities because it is a much, much smaller district. Beaumont's site will, should be nicer than ours when it is completed, but again designed for a much larger district. PAM will make the playoffs. For the simple fact that the district is small and down this year. Not sure how well they will do in the dance though! -
Should players were numbers during scrimmage?
badndn replied to a topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Pretty sure everyone new # 83 was Doty for PNG. Wasn't always sure about the WR's though. -

I would've been in the Pear Orchard but that got cancelled. Me and my buddy @the DCU and his kids went to the scrimmage. The stadium is nice but it's no Berry Centre..... No one ever said it was a Berry Center, which was built to house four large 5A programs and tens of thousands of students district wide! Love the fair weather fans from PAM. Bet if they go 7-3 and a round or 2 deep he is in the stands. Did you see anything positive 85? -
Desmond will see some PT under center, but primarily in a Wildcat type roll. Kid can run. I suspect we will see him also in some of the slot positions and maybe even get a reverse or two in to use his athleticism. All that said, Doty is the starting QB. When they go to the second team offense it goes from a 50/50 spilt of pass to run to a run heavy offense with Desmond.
-
Win, Lose, Dominate or be dominated, tonight doesn't matter because neither team will be showing everything. Just a scrimmage to gauge what you got. I'll be happy if both teams find out where they need the most work and stay healthy. Patience NDN Fans and Titan Fans for that matter. Patience. Rome (Italy) wasn't built in a day. And that's what we want Rome (Italy) not Rome (Texas) ;D
-
Because in the eyes of the UIL they tied with equal records, but we all know who won head to head.

I think alot of the pranks have stopped because the kids now-a-days have played on travel baseball, soccer and even basketball teams together so they are more civilized. Most of them have good friends at the other school.

Couple of tidbits from someone who was at the game. 1. LCM looked better than last year. Not what he would consider good but better, but that was a given they are more experienced and better coached. 2. TC is not the TC of old. They will struggle hard this year. No QB, no real skill position players. They have a nice size OLine. Nonetheless it is a good start for Crouch and Company. -

As I posted in the spring, this may be the biggest line PNG has ever had. Lunceford - 6'3" 245 Easley - 6'1" 250 Leblanc - 6'1" 215 Langois - 6'3" 290 Reasons - 6'5" 260 Looked like the second day of practice with pads on today. Loved the intensity, but as most coaches will tell you the first intersquad is rusty. -

I think K.Segura (PNG WR) should have made at least HM. He had very good numbers last year and they will throw a lot more this season, plus teams will try and shut down DeRon leaving him in worse coverage. I expect a PNG linemen and maybe Harmon will make this team at the end of the year! -
