  1. In response to last years game and stats: BH didn't drive the ball across the 50 until the second half and even then it only happened twice. Both scores where after turnovers that were unforced (muffed punt) and open field fumble and inside the 20. Again BH didn't cause that game to be so close. PNG did! But that was typical of PNG all season. Turnovers (fumbles).
  2. This is key to the early success of this program. Local talent that people want to see. If they have success early then the top local talent will stay and eventually the better talent around Texas and LA will be easier to recruit and Lamar can make waves about the FBS.
  3. One advantage that Vidor has is that they run an offense that most teams rarely see, thus it is harder to prepare for in one week. That is where having so many starters back makes a big difference for them. In 2005 if I am not mistaken they were attempting to run the spread, which you see every other week. Most of the Vidor coaches and a number of players came to watch the PNG Spring game to see what the competition is doing. Didn't see anyone else in the district there?? That tells me that the kids believe!
  4. Congrats Collins girls on getting back and exacting some revenge on Mamou. That girl was bringin' it! The gun had her at 57 consitantly, which is amazing for a 12U. We had hoped to have an all Crush final, but it just didn't pan out. ;D Good tournament as far as competition, but it was hot, fields were horrible, umps were typical for SW LA, and restricting to one team cooler and having no water in the dugouts was almost criminal. That ain't the way they get treated when they come to TEXAS baby!
  5. Also when we get into the playoffs we get a lot of out of town alumni involved who don't make all the local games. I have been to several Nederland playoff games over the years as well, they get nice crowds. I'd have to place them second. Lumberton packed 'em in during the run a coupl a years back.
  6. WOS has great parking, easy to get in and out, lots of visitor seating, great, usually hospitable fans, and I love the space between the rows of seats!
  7. No one on here has said that PNG was a hard luck team. Go back through all the posts. I said BC was a hard luck team. PNG has been on the side of good fortune enough over the years, but PNG is not the only team to have their season decide on a coin toss or a last second play at the end of the year.
  8. Vidor. It takes for ever to get to the parking areas because there is only one way in and one way out! Favorite place to watch a game (other than the Res!), Stallworth in Baytown.
  9. That's not hard luck, just bad teams. I think he is looking for good teams that loose key players in critical points of the season or seem to always get shafted in the three way tie breaker or coin toss! You still sore about that one badndn...bout time to let that one go, you think? Is deciding the fate of a season on a coin toss not Luck? And lossing that toss was damn hard!!! ;D Thus it meets the definition of Hard Luck
  10. Considering that there are some districts who's DII rep is larger than the next districts largest DI rep, I think that whole big school , small school thing is crap.
  11. I think he is talking about in the last quarter century! That would be '84-to now.
  12. I wouldn't have played her the next day. I would have asked her to be a part of the dugout for sure, but nothing outside of that.
  13. That's not hard luck, just bad teams. I think he is looking for good teams that loose key players in critical points of the season or seem to always get shafted in the three way tie breaker or coin toss!
  14. And what did I write in my previous post?? Again PNG had to come from behind because of PNG not because of anything BH did. The muffed punt was not caused by BH and PNG had fumble problems last year to say the least. BH had one decent drive of over 50 yards and PNG intercepted the ball to stop it. Other than that BH had just over 120 total yards. Maybe I am wrong, but I don't see BH as a big threat this year. Now Crosby is another story. I think they are legit to win that district and make some noise in November. Merka is a beast.
  15. BH had no business being in that game last year. Yes PNG had to win in on a late TD, but anyone who was there remembers that BH scored their TDs after PNG fumbled closed to their own endzone (inside the 15) once and muffed a punt inside the 10. PNG caused PNG's problems in that game, not BH.
  16. BC? Never will forget a couple years back when they lost QB Dishon before a playoff game!
  17. First time in a while that this district will not have a shoe in front runner. At this point with all the new coaches and the returning talent on the teams that maintained a coaching staff the district really is unpredictable! Should make for a very, very entertaining season for all.
  18. Probably on probation with his history!
  19. I predict that the top four teams will make the playoffs! (This I know for certain) ;D
  20. A simple suggestion...Drop the BOJO crap and people will take you more serious. That was a horrible rip off idea from a horrible coach and is seen as down right laughable by the folks on this board and around the GT. You guys have a new coach with a new attitude and should be moving forward in the future.
  21. Yep. 9 times outta 10 execution beats a bunch of fast guys with no direction!
  22. Always nice to exact some revenge! Congrats.
  23. They lost to Gilmer in 2004 state title game. Correct. So 1 rep. in 9 years. And the sad part is now we actually have more chances each year from 3A-5A because more teams make the playoffs now.
  24. WOW.......Dayton envy? I consider Dayton to be in the "Greater Houston" area. Same as when they were in 20-4A. That does not mean I will not pull for them, it just means I do not consider them part of SETX. Bingo! We don't consider Livingston A SETX school either and they are in our loacal 4A district. Bottom line is this area has not been a big factor in HS football at the 3A-5A ranks in some time.
