There’s not enough time for me to write everything down that I have learned from my grandfather. His life in a very small nutshell….Grew up with no father….started helping out with what jobs an 8 year could do and then by 11 he was working as much as he could. Put himself thru Lamar…when on to become one of the top guys for gulf oil. Went over to Korea and oversaw from “ground up” building of a refinery. Earned a black belt while time spent there. Retired from gulf when chevron took over…then later went back to work for chevron for a short time. Master carpenter as well, but could do it all from plumbing and electrical. Him and my Dad built the two story house I grew up in with their own two hands as well as a two story barn. He learned to depend on himself and his God giving ability no matter the circumstances from an early age….the silent generation was produced by the greatest generation and to me there is not much difference. My great grandfather on my dad s side was in WW1. Lived to be 94…him and my great grandmother got married at 15 and 16 and went on to have 14 kids. We went to there house a many Sundays growing up and were able to listen to his life stories. i didn’t live thru the Great Depression obviously but I was able to see the people it produced these people were in and around my life quite often not just holidays like some people. We took the time to sit still and listen to what they had to say and learn from them. there a a very small percentage of those people left and even a smaller % of those type of people produced in this day in age. like you said I absorbed as much as I could….most of it stuck and some didn’t.

I’m concerned…..family 7 talking here…..Im very concerned… BUT I’m willing to take this economy on for the hope of good long term….. we shall see if people stick thru it…..we ll see who has fortitude. Trump ran on this and warned everyone and many people voted for it….and not just conservatives…..all voting blocks were up. People on all sides need to be humbled. Right and left……American and foreign Have you not not seen what the last president(as well many past ones from both parties) and the politicians were spending money on. our own greed and lack of disciplined standards have caused outsourcing…..3 of many areas that need major attention and of course the superior issue….God almighty.

I wonder if his cousin is going back to Washington as well? Washington was horrible this past year…bottom of the big 10.

Exactly the same way I feel. i also didn’t realize how long Duke players are….good gracious. i had gator vs cougar in final with gator having a full belly. after watching Duke my gut tells me Houston may be in trouble. Especially if Duke defends the perimeter then that 3 ball that UH shoots so well may take a percentage drop. but I’m still sticking with Florida either way.

Well we do know what the left supports according to bills voted for or against and that’s enough for me….i don’t need media…..just takes common sense and a simple search of govt hearings and signed bills…..public knowledge. I have some knowledge on the border given my contacts at the border who are part of the process of removing illegals as well as deterring illegal crossings…..the job is getting done!!!! too many people fall for “day 1 prices will drop” let’s be realistic and use our brains…..that’s a sale pitch. Is it ridiculous to say YES. I myself see the long term goal but it’s going to take time and things may get worse before they get better. Unlike many especially in todays society who want instant answers/gratification/fixes. Givin the destruction that was done the last 4 years as well as the tangled fraudulent web of governing officials (left and right plus international relations) dating back who knows how far…..not going to be fixed over night nor will it be smooth sailing.
