1. Weisbrod...is not D1 talent sorry I like watching him play and he's a good high school player, he has a post mentallity with guard size.....that doesn't translate to D1 unless he can play guard on that level and IMO he doesn't have the skill set to do that.  He could get a look just based on Coach English's connections Jordan Hunter has potential....he has basketball IQ along with basketball talent....his size is his down side, but he plays guard so that doesn't play as much of a factor as does the size of a big man.  It all comes down to can he defend a bigger guard. Jared Hunter....possibly D1 potential but not likely....his size hurts him.  For someone his size he has to be LEGIT in order to play D1.  I had a college teammate that was his size so im not saying its not possible, but the percentages are against him. Pearson has potential...but he really needs to put in more footwork and quickness training along with handling the ball.  He's still young so he may grow more, but if he doesn't he'll be a guard or possibly small forward on the next level.  The experience he is getting this young will help with confidence. He seems very hungry, at thats a good quality the others i haven't seen play enough
 2. I broke out the 270 today and haven't shot it in 2 years the ammo is about 4 years old never really thought about if ammo goes bad. does it????

 4. is this the same strake jesuit as it was in 2008-2010 that had numerous d1 talent and signings
 5. i sometimes wonder why people ask a question they already know the answer to.
 6. can't go by rankings....either way....  it comes down to matchups and styles of play
This would be an interesting debate, however, it would be more interesting to discuss when the season have ended for this here's edition.  This team haven't reached their potential yet.  The 99 jags got better and better as district went on and peaked deep in the playoffs under Coach Green.
there's your answer
i understand that your job and the way society has became so much more technology advanced thats the way things are done now.  but whats sad is that there was a time that we didn't have cell phones and we were still able to do our jobs.  Im not blaming you....its the way society has become...either join them or get left behind.  And i am glad that your teachers are professional...but that cant be said about some of the schools i ve been to....P.A. and Beaumont

I heard there was issues at the silsbee/lee game...bookkeeper not even notifying the refs of someone fouling out till after that player played several possessions and that a player possibly had one to many fouls marked down for him. not sure if the bookkeeper was distracted by a phone or fans, but it does show lack of focus of the job at hand I agree with you on these points.  I will say this however,  some of these people dont get paid to run the cloth or keep the book.  It is assigned.  If they were paid then maybe they would take a better interest in what they are doing. 14.
Lumberton came back and beat Port Authur in the Nederland tournament finals. I'm not sure if you knew about that it not but I'm pretty sure that is why TABC ranked them. In my opinion though the only two rankings that mattar are where are you standing at the end of district going into playoffs and where do you stand when the season is finished.
oh i didn't know that....so who did they lose to then. and yes i agree
 15. i said what i said because a team could have a 8-1 record (Lumberton at that time of post)and be misleading because they haven't played anyone of any significance except for orangefield and memorial....orangefield was still in volleyball playoffs and memorial beat them.  I am all about teams getting their name out their and getting recognition, but some people especially parents and fans believe in the hype of a ranking. i ve seen lumberton play 3 times.....their a descent ball club for this area, but they are not a top 25 4A team in texas.  and im sure parents and fans of lumberton will disagree with me and have irrational thoughts about me saying that (thats that emotional attachment they have to the team)  they are nt seeing clearly because of that attachment.  as of today lumberton is no longer ranked.  i see lumberton competing for 3rd in that district....
 16.
I agree. That was for bucket who made a deal out of Lumberton being ranked. Well it does help with the girls confidence and as an intimidation factor when playing teams who allow themselves to be beat before they show up to play but as far as winning a game with a ranking. Not at all.  :)
Number 1s can be beat i never said they couldn't.  Tournament play is alot different than district play and playoffs....if you were a coach you would know.  not making excuse for teams to lose, but most highly ranked teams will often have losses on their records from tournament play rather than an individual game played during the week.... but i don't expect you to know that as a fan or a parent. i am unbiased when i make my remarks because i don't have a dog in the hunt.  im a basketball junkie....Yes its just my opinion, but my remarks are not swayed by an emotional attachment. congrats to memorial for winning.
 17.
I'm gonna go a step further...I'm sick and tired of ppl saying fire Coach Saveat...what is he guilty of WINNING....most ppl are worried about district championships..At Ozen they wanna win state..that's goals....idk what u consider building a program but I think hes done just fine..they've lost by one point each of the years that they've been in semis and regionals..and that was with disfunctional teams...but I don't hear the ppl in Nederland say fire Coach English when he loses... Respect the man and what he's done not just for basketball but for what he's trying to do for the kids...but it's impossible every time somebody doesn't like what he does they say fire him...some ppls perception of what basketball is get diluted with wanting to win so dang on bad...u ever think about what he has to deal with on a daily basis with some parents who could care less about their child's education only because they know he can play ball...nah of course not just fire him for wanting what's best for the kids...but what's worse and i hate to make this an issue but if he were white u wouldn't even question him... Start supporting the coaches instead of tryna tear em down..smdh...
i agree with you. I have found Most Nederland fans are reasonable and let the coach COACH.  And most Beaumont Fans (not all) are not reasonable and try to coach from the stands(i see it and hear it all the time). The fans think they know whats best and how to coach....its easy for them to sit in the stands and holler or sit in from of computer and write like they know basketball.....yall just look and sound ignorant.  I hear fans talking bad about coaches and the decisions they make....just shut up and enjoy the game.
