  1. Nope! No hate at all. It's really out of humor, I posted it to get the exact reaction I got. However, some of "you people" truly cant see it as what it is...only in color (or black and white actually). The point is the same, if him wearing a pin (that just happened to be Obama) in a certain situation prior to his hate filled action in no way should be considered as part of WHY he committed the crime, then neither should any other. But that's not what you want to see...the damn pin/flag/red shirt/etc had nothing to do with these peoples actions...... It's like Trump said, "It's not a gun problem, it's a crazy people problem". Well it's not a flag (or pin) problem........it's a crazy people problem. But since the pin doesn't fit your agendas and the flag did...some of you people jumped right on the ban wagon......
  2. not really. What it represents is the stupidity of "you people" in blaming a flag (political pin) rather than the actual people who commit the crime. Roof shot those good people because he is a very hateful disturbed individual, not because of the flag someone saw in a pic on FB, or the color of his skin. Likewise, this idiot shot these 2 people because he to was an idiot, not because of a pin someone saw on TV or his skin color. But you - you jumped all over the flag issue, and call out "you people" when in essence the EXACT same thing is turned around on you.....
  3. "TV murderer was criticized by bosses for appalling journalistic standards and reprimanded for wearing an Obama badge to report on elections." [Hidden Content] Surely this will be seen as the EXACT same thing as the rebel flag wearer - right? Obama represents hate and division in this country, everything obama is racist and should not be allowed and is in its own right (same as rebel flag) responsible for the deaths of these two people.
  4. I agree! Plenty of blame to go around. Whereas Biloxi and Gulfport were near total destruction, N.O. was limited to nearly one neighborhood (besides the fact the residents of said neighborhood got outside the hood and destroyed other places) You hardly heard or saw anything other than NO....why...because the IDIOTS didn't/wouldn't leave...who's to blame....the fools that stayed and cause even further destruction to a city way beyond that of flood waters...and yes, there were plenty of them....so yes, many are to blame.
  5. Most people don't realize that it WILL affect them also. They see the obvious of oil/gas people get laid off, and think that's due to prices dropping. However, when those people lose their good paying jobs and stop eating out, buying cars, going on vacations, stop buying new homes, stop flying, etc........then the layoffs start in all other industries due to these reductions.....however, there is a lag in time and those getting laid off don't realize it is a direct result of trickle down from falling gas prices.
  6. Whereas there is a balance. I'd be careful what you wish for, if gas prices plummet to far, well...it will be bad for a whole lot of people.
  7. This can't be a true statement, that war was ALL about slavery and a flag!
  8. [Hidden Content]; I wonder if Trump will get the same consideration. From the article... "The decision to assign agents to Mr. Obama, nearly nine months before voting begins in the Democratic primaries for president, is the earliest the Secret Service has ever issued a security detail to a candidate."
  9. Silsbee recently tried to get approval to build low income (affordable) housing in an area that would have been to close to upper middle class housing - myself along with many others in the community, particularly near by neighborhoods protested at a town hall meeting - it's efforts FAILED! If that's what is considered integration, I'm against it! AS it is, my neighborhood has blacks and whites...ALL affording the same value housing.
  10. Whereas I agree some take it way to far, I see nothing wrong with harmless/costless pranks....West Brook for example: Pig up the flag pole...that is funny as hell. One another note, "walking across a stage receiving a diploma" is not the achievement. I skipped all of mine...the education is all that matters....the "walk" is just ceremonial, that wouldn't / didn't have any bearing on anything...IMO
  11. [Hidden Content]   From the article:    When nuclear monitors said Iran had started testing a single advanced centrifuge last year, some U.S. politicians and analysts jumped on the report as proof the Islamic Republic can’t be trusted.  To U.S. officials negotiating with Iran, it was probably just a mistake -- one that shows the pitfalls in the highly technical accord being discussed. Describing the incident in detail for the first time, U.S. officials, who asked not to be identified following diplomatic rules, said the testing was probably done by a low-level employee on Iran’s nuclear program who didn’t understand the limits placed on his experimentation.  â€¦
  12. [Hidden Content]   I've explained this before....it's nothing new.    I chose this link because of it's simplicity - there are plenty others to explain in more depth.   Do I believe we are experiencing global warming - YES, otherwise we would still be in the latest ice age. The earth cycles, it will continue to cycle....nothing MAN did or can do to change that.....
  13. I'm sure even you have a good quality or 2 that I'd find helpful, that wouldn't make me an atheist or a liberal.....   I hear you are good with numbers under 20....lol
  14. I'll say it! YES. No one is perfect in all areas, improvement should always be the goal....some very good people (countries) may have a bad quality or 2, whereas some very bad people (countries) may have some good qualities....   in the secured border discussion - yes, we could learn a thing or 2 from North Korea and the likes!
  15. hence my flip flopping and mention of government involvement and negatives for the consumer. ... is it possible to better understand the situation ... yet be more confused as to how I feel about an approach toward a solution. .... maybe I'll just take up residence on the fence with you. ...
  16. I agreed that the government being involved is a slippery slope. ... but if you read through the entire cartoon you'll see why. ... it's no different than the so called state run media so many complain about. .... pick and choose their favorites then report accordingly. .. rather than report the actual news. .... especially since the 2 ISP giants have now combined. ... if they so choose. .. they could in essence shut down any site they don't want you to see. ... hence the CNN /FOX example. .... or basically shut down Netflix while starting their own like company. ... yet quality would not have any bearing. ... only control through ISP providers..... maybe the answer should be not to allow the monopoly. ... which there are already laws prohibiting
  17. [Hidden Content] OK. ... after much more studying... and questioning of people that truly understand. ...I have to change my position.... at least for me this link helps me "get it".... I'm sure there is some underlying negative. .. add there always is when government gets involved. ... And at the consumer level. .. but in the bigger picture of ISPs control. ...I agree. ... something needed to be done. ... now let's see the outcome. ... for better. .. for worse
  18. here is truely a noval idea. ... if you can't afford it. ... you don't get it. ... healthcare in particular is only expensive because even without Obamacare.... we were paying for the unissued. ..as bad as that was. ...ACA is worse. .my taxes didn't go down and my premiums/deductible went up. ... and no better coverage. ....so stupidly in this country is rewarded in the name of fairness and compassion. ....you'd be surprised what people can do. .. when they have to. .. and not handed to them. .... and I'm not real interested in the what if it were your family. ... or if it were me. ... or the old. .. or the disabled. Or...or...or... if people KNEW.... the only way to live was to provide. .insert here. .. money. .. healthcare etc. .... they would. .. all those cell phones. .. electronics.... shoes. ... cars. ... wouldn't be so important anymore
  19. And no. ... it doesn't make it OK. ... but. ... it's only an issue. ... and you're only getting short handed per se of there is actually someone paying the same as you and getting the "real" speed. ... otherwise. .. it's a non issue
  20. then your tiebreaker should be ....anything government controled ..sucks....which ultimately means government growth..... also sucks. ... just like the NEW Healthcare.... really really sucks
  21. yet it is about poor people/businesses. I read at least in part that some sites are faster because some sites pay the ISPs a fee for said speed. ..or bandwidth... hence the name. ...they are wanting to nuetralize that difference. ...regardless of who you are. .. what the business pays. ..etc..... not to mention I do pay for faster service. .. and the not so rich pays for lesser service. .... the only part I agree with you on is. ...I should get wrist I pay for. ... however.... if the ratio between the high speed and lower speed is the same. ... it doesn't really matter. ... example. ... if you pay $10 for 50mph and get 25mph and I pay $20 for 100mph and get 50mph.... even though both are only getting half of stated speed. .. it's still relative to what we pay for. I used mph cause I don't know Internet speed measurement
  22. Kinda like health care. ....imo. the same group said insurance providers had to offer certain things. .. if your provider wasn't providing it your policy was canceled. ... even though we were told you could keep it if you liked it. ... that part was also done because they. .... the government decided we weren't getting what we paid for. .... see how that's turning out. ....I pay even more. ... and quite certain my benefits didn't increase to the same value as my premium/deductible increase......
  23. I'm not a fan of equal. .. just to be equal. I don't mind paying for what I get/have and don't think in the name of fairness that others. ...who can't afford. ... for whatever reason. ... should be able to. .. just get. ... what I've worked hard and made good choices to have....I do understand that sometimes it means I pay what some think is outrageous for these privileges. .... but that's OK with me. ...but I can see. .. and understand why Obama is a supporter of this. ... and why conservatives are not. .. not to mention just the fact that government is getting involved. .... like someone else said. ... even in the name of good. ... government involvement will turn out bad.
  24. OK. .. here goes. .. from a non IT minded perspective. I've read several things. .. up to and including the who is in favor and why. .. and who is against and why. ... my early disclaimer is. .. there is a ton on info. .. not necessarily written in English. ... or easily understood by the non IT people. ... in short. ... it seems like a socialist approach. ... insures "fairness".... as providers are currently able to charge higher or lower for various speeds. .... ... some claim only the rich will have the best available whereas others have slower service. .... it also seems to add more control to what you can and can't access.... at least from what I've read. ... and the way I understood. ...I would be against it. ... anyone care to explain it differently. ... or explain why I "should" welcome this change. ...
  25. I'll bite! I'm not real sure what it is, at least not enough to KNOW what it means to the future of the internet.   With that said, I will agree with the statement "Obama bad" and that I do understand, and have plenty of reasons to think so.   But, if you'll be so kind as to explain "net neutrality" to me, I'll then decide if Obama gets a plus, or yet another negative.   I can surely say, I agree with the stance that other than our military, not much the Feds get involved with works, so I am skeptical about the Feds getting involved....however you choose to explain it to me.
