  1. WOW! So I guess everyone is out to get poor little HJ.......why is it when others feel cheated (Silsbee -vs- HJ, Regional Finals) most HJ fans get all bowed up, and start telling US to shut up...etc..etc...etc........Silsbee loses two games and WE suck.......not HJ.......They were CHEATED........now now now......maybe ya'll just SUCK to now.........or then again, maybe we (Silsbee) will just see it as it is.......HJ lost to a good team (that played better than they did on this night) HJ will always be a force and those that know anything at all about this game knows that. Silsbee -vs- HJ will be 2 good games when district rolls around!
  2. I guess I'm more of a realist than most people in the GT. In every sport, every year.......everyone talks about whos going to win state, who's going pro, Lamar needs to sign more local talent, etc.........do any of you get out of the GT? We do have some decent players and teams, and YES and occasional state champion in any given sport. Do the math on how many Hiesman trophy winners FAIL in the NFL........just because we are good year in and year out in our local respective districts, or have an occasional Div I player.......does NOT mean we rule Texas.......Much less the professional ranks!
  3. Another post showing your fear of the Silsbee Tigers.......I don't see you mouthing about the others in the district.........That's because you KNOW Silsbee is a threat to HJ - you know Silsbee can and has beaten HJ before - and can and WILL do it again......... if you truly didn't believe that (as in HF beating HJ) you wouldn't waste as much time downing Silsbee!
  4. I figured you out........you are SCARED of Silsbee.........people don't usually bother spending so much time doggin' someone if they are harmless or of no threat to them........only if you're SCARED..........come on MWhizzie............you must first admit your fears in order to overcome them!
  5. Fair enough, however, I could have used University of Delaware and had similar results.........and they are approx. right in the middle of Baltimore, MD and Philadelphia, PA...........and the "local" (within 80 miles)numbers are the same. I have also looked at programs that are considered "pretty good" but not NC contenders, now their numbers seem to have more "local" players (within 80 miles). I just think we have a mixture of opinions about what it will take for Lamar football to succeed. Some say local talent, some say win! The perfect situation would be to win with local talent, however, after looking at several programs around the country, this doesn't seem to be a common denominator.........they are either local and are just ok, or recruit regionally or nationally, and comptete deep into the playoffs. Some on here are bias about the level of talent we have here in the GT (compared to other parts of Texas or even the country).........yes we do have some, however, they usually play at bigger schools........Lamar must recruit on a "talent first" basis, without regards to where they are from...JMO! However, I do agree, that the process of hiring of the Head Coach is the most IMPORTANT part of building the foundation to a successful program at Lamar! If they get that part right........the rest will fall into place!
  6. APPALACHIAN STATE'S 2007/2008 ROSTER (and they are playing for the NC) Boone, North Carolina North Carolina players in BOLD, notice how many would be considered "local" within 50 miles.......now tell me again WHY Lamar should "focus" on local...........if it's here, fine if NOT, it's about WINNING, not playing the brother-in-law game just so , mom, dad, sister, girlsfriend, aunts and uncles can see their little boy keep playing. I appologize in advance for this being sloppy!
  7. I repeat to yet another........it's best to keep your mouth shut and let people THINK you're and idiot, than speak and remove ALL doubt! Why is it that some just can't allow others to enjoy their success while their teams have failed. I for one am very disapointed that Silsbee isn't in the playoffs, I congratulate those who are and have chosen Lumberton to follow to the end......go Raiders......keep it rolling, with success there will always be haters!
  8. WOS92 - have you ever heard the saying "it is better to keep your mouth shut and let others think your are an idiot, than to speak and remove all doubt!" You might want to try it........that or participate in one of the many adoption programs in and around the state, before you produce another generation of classless youth in which LM displayed last night! Give it a rest, you obviously weren't there, and the more you try to cover for you clueless remarks the worst you sound! It's not about being MAN enough or BIG enough to "snatch" your kid up......it's about expecting things bigger and better of your children, and the fact that most of our children respect us enough not to put us in that situation, and if they do make a mistake, would know better than to "fight" back creating further embarrasemnt for themselves or their parents.........if you only had a clue or CLASS you might understand! Ignore him Lumberton, enjoy your victory.........and keep it rolling!
  9. First - Congrats Lumberton from a Silsbee fan. I really enjoyed sitting amoung the Lum faithful, what fun! Great game. Second - WOS92 you are one of the WOS fans that I'm sure WOS wish would NOT represent their team and community. You obviously were not there.......LM deserved t o lose on BAD sportsmanship alone .....the adults of this community are losers for allowing and condoning this behavior. Kicking rolling around on the ground, throwing helmets..........if LM NEVER wins another game........it would be deserving. They lost much more than a game last night...........they lost, RESPECT! Third - UIL should ban anything LM as far as that discusting band and half time performance - LOSERS! Fourth - (see first) plus - My daughter (12yo) said it best, I've never been this excited for a team other than Silsbee, great team, great fans, great half time show....NOTHING BUT CLASS!
  10. what station is that on? Sorry, I don't know how to listen to all this on computer.......like ya'll said.......I'm usually THERE!
  11. No your not.......and your right.......this SUCKS! If I hadn't been sick all week, I was planning on going to the Lumberton game........thought better of it!
  12. Ok I'm trying to listen to the Lumberton game.......nothing happens when I click the link......help please?
  13. I am.....at least you get to go tomorrow night! Us Silsbee fans have to wait a while!
  14. WHAT??? Just trying to get ALL of MC on the same side pulling, only going by what I've read on here about MC "sticking" together! That's what I'm doing.......pulling for another Hardin County team!
  15. You are a true fan Mike.......I was just asking (on another thread) why PNG fans were pulling for Ned, but no love being returned from "most" Ned fans......
  16. I wasn't bashing, I was asking a question. I'm not aware of him having any HC experience to be determined "a great coach" His record as of now as a HC is 0-9! (that I know of)
  17. Not sure what some of this means: BC good coach? Maybe, his brother is and is proven, is this based on his name, or his credentials? Silsbee young? Well the QB is a soph, and ONE RB is a Soph.......however, 28 Seniors doesn't seem to YOUNG to me? As far as Jasper and WOS.......I'm not sure! On topic, I don't think much changes for BC next season!
  18. I have noticed ALOT of PNG fans supporting Ned to beat Lumberton......why isn't Ned returning the favor. At least explain how ya'll can hope Ned wins, while all along they hope PNG loses! Go Raiders - From Silsbee! I must be in Jasper hoping the Tigers can secure a playoff spot (our hands are full w/ Jasper) however, if Silsbee doesn't make it, I will go watch Lumberton!
  19. Oh well, what better time to break the mold than now! I know 3 of those girls VERY well, coached 2 of them along the way (softball), GREAT kids! I hate that I will miss this game, but I assure you, I will be calling regularly! GOOD LUCK LADIES! It will only make homecoming even sweeter!
  20. That's what I thought too..........That's why I thought MAYBE, BC won the toss, and choseto play the odds!
  21. Silsbee will play BC @ the Silsbee High School Gym @ 2:00 Saturday October 27! Did BC win the toss and choose to play at Silsbee because the beat them there, or did Silsbee win the toss and choose home court?
  22. Why don't you and ALL of the others use this advice! It just seems to be OK for PNG or Nederland to have every other thread on here, but when Lumberton has a few ya'll cry.......but what's new?
