Man, I didn't know you were so protective of certain individuals.... By the way that would be Henry!

About like Meyers on the BC team.......did you notice she can BLOCK as well?? Just a question!

What are the most likely upsets in the next two weeks? Key games remaining: SHS - HF - @K'ville - @WOS - @ Jasper OF - @K'ville - @WOS - @ BC - HJ BC - @Jasper - @HF - OF - WOS HF - @Silsbee - BC - Jasper - @ K'ville

My bad.....sorry!
-
I think you still can......aren't ya'll 1-1......if you lose to Limberton, then win out, I think the 3rd place team will have 2 losses! Possible: District Champs - 0 losses Runner - up - 1 loss (the the winner) 3rd Place - 2 losses (to the top 2) If you lose to Lumberton, and Dayton loses to Ned.......then the Dayton -v- Central has more meaning than last year! IMO!
-
And remember, I didn't disagree that we have 3 threads per day on Lumberton ;D It does get a little (or alot) carried away at times! Back on Topic.......I do think Lumberton has a chance to beat Central tomorrow, but if they don't.......I'm sure we will hear all the nay sayers..........but it is only one game.......they can lose to Central AND Nederland, and still make the playoffs!
-
Read a little better........PLEASE! I'm NOT from Lumberton, so "You" didn't even play Dayton! hardin County madness was a poke at MCM....point being, I'm from Silsbee, and probably supposed to "not like" Lumberton........but I do, I'm excited for them. you can comment on whatever you like........but don't move next to the train tracks, then complain about the trains passing all night long! People make fun of Lumberton, for NEVER making the playoffs.......ok, fair enough.......but isn't it equally as funny as those that consider themselves this great football empire because they won state 20-30 years ago, yet in RECENT times.....lose first or second round consistantly.......if we all went with who deserves to talk noise on here........we would all be reading threads between WOS and Newton. PS....I think BOJO is good for LCM as well!
-
Again........that doesn't matter........SILSBEE - WOS - KIRBYVILLE all lost in the same round last year.........yes WOS beat Silsbee, Silsbee beat K'ville........but you know what.........it didn't get any of them any farther along.......and it really didn't matter who thought they lost (in the playoff) to the better team.......they still lost and came home! Newton will regularly have a less than perfect record before district.......does that mean if you're a team that has beaten Newton.......it holds no credit, because you beat Newton and they may be 2-3 going into district...........yea right!
-
Did Vidor get their own site last year after beating Nederland???? Ya'll were the same way! Lumberton fans are excited, and they should be, it's good for their program. Do some get carried away........sure.......but so do alot of other people at times........Let them enjoy it, don't add fuel to the fire, don't read it, don't comment on it.......I for one would like to see Lumberton succeed.......and I'm from Silsbee......HCM (Hardin County Madness) Now if you want to make fun of something........MCM would be a good place to start!
-
I voted Central -v- Lumberton.........I'm not from Lumberton. I feel learning IF Lumberton is for real, and can/will compete consistantly with this districts traditional powerhouse teams is more interesting than MCM........the only people that care about that game is Mid-county people........I think the Silsbee -v- HF has more weight to the outcome of 21-3A playoff look........even that game is more interesting and effects more people than MCM! JMO!

Hey Birdman, what are you doing over here? People are going to start talking about us, you know that? -
UIL drawing criticism 50/50 On The New Plan
CraigS replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I think a compromise would along these lines! Determine how many teams from each district make the playoffs, 2-3-4, doesn't really matter (I support 2 teams) After that, devide them (by enrollment) right don the middle.......now there may still be some travel involved, but not until the playoffs. I know this wouldn't necessarily help some of the smaller schools MAKE the playoffs, but it would better match schools once they did. This would also give a modified plan to see how it works out only during the playoffs, and not all year long. Just a thought, if they MUST do anything at all! -
Ladyhorn Volleyball Rocks the House!!
CraigS replied to UKCats's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
You are correct, however, they still have games against teams that issued 2 of those losses, more than likely leaving them (bar any upsets) at 9-5. This record could force a potential tie with OF (their other loss) for the remaining spot to go to the playoffs.....translation......get to cocky to soon, and you could be rocking AT the house, while Silsbee, BC, and OF are continuing their season! -
District 21-3A Bridge City Lady Cards-- 3 (Bridge City 9-1 in 21-3A) Kirbyville Lady Wildcats-- 1 (Kirbyville 3-7 in 21-3A) Hardin-Jeff Lady Hawks-- 0 (H-Jeff 3-7 in 21-3A) Silsbee Lady Tigers-- 3 (Silsbee 9-1 in 21-3A) Ham-Fannett Lady Longhorns-- 1 (H-Fannett 7-3 in 21-3A) Orangefield Lady Bobcats-- 3 (Orangefield 6-4 in 21-3A) Jasper - not sure of record * WOS - not sure of record * From the looks of things: SHS - 9-1 BC - 9-1 HF - 7-3 OF - 6-4 * I don't believe Jasper or WOS have better records than HF and OF with 4 games left it appears that SHS and BC only need 2 more wins or 2 more loses by OF (or any combo) to clinch the playoffs. Key games remaining: SHS - HF - @K'ville - @WOS - @ Jasper OF - @K'ville - @WOS - @ BC - HJ BC - @Jasper - @HF - OF - WOS HF - @Silsbee - BC - Jasper - @ K'ville Could get interesting: If SHS and BC win out, we have a tie at 1st at 13-1 (playoff for 1st and 2nd) If OF wins 3 of 4 (which is possible) they would finish 9-5 Then HF would finish 2-2 with a record of 9-5 also OF and HF would have to have a playoff to see goes and who stays home!
-
Silsbee came very close to upsetting Silsbee, last year......and eventually did (upset themselves) the next round, they blew a 10 point lead with 4 minutes left, and possion of the ball! Shoulda, Woulda, Coulda, won that game......
-
But what significant point does it make........as I've showed the teams with the strongest schedule didn't fair any better or worse than those with the weakest schedule.........in the playoffs! Silsbee was shown to have the 3rd weakest schedule of everyone, however, they were one play away from upsetting WOS last year, and finished in the same round as WOS.......Kirbyville is also pretty low in the strength of schedule, they got WHIPPED by WOS and Silsbee........yet finished in the same round! I will speculate that this is really all about Lumberton being 5-0 and Nederland being 5-0. They may or may not be the same caliber of teams, only time will tell. However, regarless of that particular games outcome.........it's really where they finish in the playoffs.......if Lumberton loses to Ned. 49-0, and makes the playoffs, plays deeper into the playoffs than Ned...........I would still have to say, Lumberton would have had a more successful season! As I went to post, someone stated my anylysis is based on only one year.......well, that all the stats that were given.......I based my results on the SAME information that was used to make the original comments. And NO, who you play in the playoffs doesn't matter, that's just luck of the draw. You either WIN or you LOSE! The team that goes the farther would be considered the most successful!
-
Again I ask, what does this prove based on the breakdown I showed earlier.......it doesn't seem to support more OR less success for hosting a strong OR weak schedule!
-
I agree, see my opion under the "strength of schedule thread"
-
Vidor 17-3 (85%) - 4 of their 5 opponents are undefeated Dayton 15-6 (71%) Hamshire-Fannett 14-6 (70%) Nederland 14-7 (67%) Bridge City 13-7 (65%) Newton 10-6 (63%) PN-G 13-8 (62%) Orangefield 12-8 (60%) Jasper 11-8 (58%) WO-S 11-9 (55%) Central 11-9 (55%) Pt Arthur Memorial 11-9 (55%) LC-M 11-10 (52%) Kirbyville 10-10 (50%) Ozen 10-10 (50%) East Chambers 10-11 (48%) West Brook 9-12 (43%) Kelly 8-13 (38%) Hardin-Jefferson 7-14 (33%) Silsbee 4-15 (21%) Lumberton 4-16 (20%) Buna 4-17 (19%) Not real sure this supports anything. Of the 22 schools on this list, 11 went to the playoff, and 11 did not, of the 11 that did......... 5 schools have a strength of schedule of over .500 6 schools have a strength of schedule of under .500 break it down even more...... (only the ones I'm aware of) WOS - above .500 K'ville and Silsbee .500 or below all three schools finished the playoffs in the exact same round........so does strength of schedule really matter. Most seem to think it prepares you for tougher competition, as it might. Now look at it this way......I believe the SEC is by far the strongest conf. in the NCAA, a team with one or even 2 loses are better than anyone else in the country IMO...........however, USC, is constantly in the top 1-2 in the rankings. You have Florida now 0-2 in SEC........I still think they would contend against anyone in the country for the top spot on any given day. Point being, is it that you are more prepared...........or more beat up! One could argue either point. With all of this said.......Go Tigers.....Geaux Tigers......and Good Luck Lumberton, I for one would like to see you in the playoffs!

NO HITTER FOR Buchholz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
CraigS replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I can't say it brought tears, but I did think it was worth mentioning on the "softball forum" and got slammed for doing it! Not everyday someone throws the old NO-NO, especially a local kid, 23 yrs old, only second start, 1st rookie for Red Sox, etc........the list goes on, SETX is very proud. -

BAG - This is NOT an attack on YOU or anyone inparticular, just an overview of MY opinion of where things went south on this board! 1) GTS Gold was attacked for anouncing tryouts when we did! Obviously we defended ourselves! 2) GTS was accused of recruiting, and disrepecting ALL other GT coaches and programs. As I've said before, I can't speak 100% for everyone involved with GTS, however, I feel that no one, made direct phone calls, e-mails, or PM's contacting players (parents) to offer them a position on our roster! Even the ones we did talk to, were from the player or parent making initial contact with US! 3)GTS (I) was accused of breaking up Terror, by our announcement, it caused some to get excited, voice their desires to try and play for GTS, I KNOW some of them went out and talked to others about joining them, as would any kid attempting to move to another team, they usually try to convience their friends and/or some players they feel are good, who doesn't want to bring other GOOD players to the team they desire to play for! These are just a few things that were directed at GTS. As would anyone involved with a program we did defend ourselves, against the attacks! There are many other behind the scene (off the board) actions (recruiting by others) that was taking place while these attacks took place in public! There seemed to be a double standard being set, THE PUBLIC ONE, and the PRIVATE ONE! 1) Public bashing of our program, yet PM's being sent asking various people (involved with GTS) for help in the recruiting process for their children! (which, we don't mind, we have answered and sent all information ask of us, despite the attacks) 2) Public bashing of our program, yet players being hand picked and recruited DURING NATIONALS! (as a note: I did notice someone posted a list of names earlier, we'll see how close to true this statement is) If it's WAY OFF, I will publicly apologize to ALL involved, as well as apologize in PERSON, for making this statement! At NO point did any one with GTS get on here and DISRESPECT the Crush organization! Everyone involved with GTS highly respects the Orange Crush Coaches, players, and Parents! (I'm not including any other teams, due to the obvious, this has become OCG -vs- GTS) Again, this not an ATTACK on anyone, just laying out why I feel this has become what it has become! Now, this part may seem more like an attack, but it is what it is! EVERYONE within the GTS organization and the Crush organization have repected each other and have had some pretty competitive games against each other, gaining even MORE respect between the 2 organizations! UNTIL, b-a-g fan, Osue200, BreakerCoach, and #1 Cheater became involved with the Crush organization! I apologize CC, this still does not change the amount of RESPECT I have for you, your organization, your coaches, parents, and especially your PLAYERS! Like I said, IT IS WHAT IT IS! Good luck to EVERY player in the Golden Triangle, I wish you well! -
I finally get it (sorry it took me so long)

Now that we've (Tigers12 & BAG) winked and made up. On the serious note, when do ya'll (OCG) plan on anouncing OCG players, or do ya'll (OCG) plan on posting it on here? -
