List of "SE Texas" Programs
GTBBaseball replied to GTBBaseball's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
The majority of us were raised watching Channels 12, 6, and 4, the PA Newspaper and BMT Enterprise... so for the most part, we all grew up thinking along the same lines with what the local media coverage was for that sport ... I returned 3 or so years ago and many more schools(Barbers Hills, Baytown(s), Crosby, Huffman, Shepherd, etc..) are now titled SE-Tx so I was only making a list to what the "Baseball Community" thinks and not the local media coverage... I've learned on this website, directly related to baseball, that Nederland, Bridge City, and Vidor are the most posted supporters, So Id like to know what we consider 'SETx Sports' these days... So say for example, One might say The Best matchup of SE-Tx schools would be: "CROSBY's" Gabryszwski(Lamar signee 89-92mph) vs "PNG's" Stone(Baylor signee 89-91mph).... and that would have validity as 2 Southeast Texas schools? Thanks guys and can you include the "school names" you are speaking of adding to that list... The "List" could be a good tool for the moderators to use as an overview at times when ranking teams and including in writeups... Chris -
Making an overall list for what we consider "SE Texas" High Schools... Think this will aid those who keep up with SE Tx baseball and for the casual fan that might overlook certain schools and or players... If I miss one PLEASE add or message me... Thank You, 1) Lumberton 2) LCM 3) Vidor 4) PNG 5) Nederland 6) Legacy Christian 7) Kelly 8 ) Silsbee 9) Jasper 10)WOS 11)Liberty 12) Hardin Jefferson 13) Hamshire-Fannett 14) Westbrook 15) Central 16) Ozen 17) Buna 18) Evadale 19) Kirbyville 20) Woodville 21) Deweyville 22) Livingston 23) Bridge City 24) Orangefield 25) Burkeville 26) Anahuac 27) East Chambers 28) PA Memorial 29) Kountze 30) Hardin 31) West Hardin 32) Sabine Pass 33) High Island 34) Warren 35) Orange Community Christian 36) Newton Is Shepherd, Crosby, Huffman, Baytown Lee, Sterling, Goose Creek, Barbers Hill etc.. considered SE Tx Schools? Rooting for Westbrooks Charles Guillory
GTBBaseball replied to GTBBaseball's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Charles is hitting online live right now(6:25pm), hit 1 Homerun in first round with 2 more that were foul balls, 1 in the 2nd deck... You can view at this link live... [Hidden Content] The unfortunate part is they are hitting off a "pitching machine"... Bryce Harper attended and took 150swings before the event began.... -
"Westbrook" High School Soph and "Marucci Elite" Select Team catcher Charles Guillory will be showcasing his talents in Phoenix, Az the next 3 days. He was invited to be a part of the 'Power Showcase Homerun Derby' at the Arizona Diamondbacks, Chase Field. ( [Hidden Content] ) You can view the event on "Power Showcases" website, previous winners include Bryce Harper, and so many more top draft kids from the past 3 amateur drafts. Good Luck "3rd" from all of us at Hitters Inc. Those who want to be involved in these type of prestigious events and select teams, feel free to come see us at "Hitters Inc" to see what we are about and begin training with us so we can work on getting your name out there to these events, associations, and summer select team programs... I can only personally speak about Tony Dallas and Shon Shelton, but I see one more that must have gotten overlooked, Rodderick Robertson. State champion Quarterback and in my opinion, a top 5 infielder to ever come out of the Orange area, drafted by the Phillies. Shon Shelton, CLASS ACT, Christian kid, who I think at that time only made like 2 errors as a 3 year starter for the Stangs, and that was at Shortstop, a high percentage error position... He could drag bunt push bunt hit for power steal bags and if you hit in his direction, forget about it, he would make the play! He signed with Panola then made his way to Lake Charles and McNeese, where he led McNeese to the schools 1st NCAA regional playoff appearance hosted by a Robin Ventura led, Oklahoma State team(that season Ventura set National Hitting Streak Record at 58games)- the regional(back then only had 8 regionals of 6 teams) consisted of Okla State, Witchita State(National Champs), Loyola Marymount(pre-season #1) to name 3 of the teams. Also Tony Robichaux, now at Univ La-Lafayette, was 25yrs of age, the youngest coach in NCAA to bring a team to NCAA Playoffs. Shon was 5 ft nothing weighed 150sumn, hit 8 homeruns at McNeese that season with only 3 errors... amazing baseball player, but an even more amazing person! Tony Dallas - simply put, dredded seeing him toe the rubber against you... you brought rosary beads to the on-deck circle for the ball came out his hand with violence and not many were able to make contact. A shame his career was cut short at Panola due to arm issues for he was a very successful and reliable arm in high school. A good man who is still in the Orange area giving back to the game. His 2 boys will probably make an impact on the playing field as well at WOS or LCM when they enter high school. John Patterson simply put, brought more attention to High school athletics in Orange Tx, on a national scene, then anyone from the Orange area. His talents had Major League Baseball following him from th time he got out the car in the parking lot onto the pitching rubber... Derek Blacksher, good high school player, but may have done more for himself after high school at Panola and McNeese State(#1 arm in rotation for Southland Conference Championship Team) and then to the Florida Marlins and now in independent baseball still living the dream. Love the thread Clint-Admin Merry Christmas, Chris Fackler

Jr College Camp Format - Monday Hitters Inc
GTBBaseball replied to GTBBaseball's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Cannot have a game, I'd hate to take for granted these kids are in good conditioning, yet trying to impress scouts in Dec not being in baseball 'game shape' could backfire and we def dont want to injure any young player with baseball season right around the corner. As you can see above, pitchers will go through presentations and groups, then follow up throwing bullpens for scouts. Id prefer we talk via email, phone call if possible with internal questions about the camp as well as leave your name so we can make sure we are on the same page with the entire format and goal of this workout. Thanks for the inquiry, Chris Fackler -

Its Hagler with an "E". Congrats to Janet and all the tireless hours driving all over SETx getting Hunter to training and the daughter to cheer workouts for over 5years... Janet, being a "supermom" has paid off. Hunter is a well rounded young man and can see great things coming from this young man. He had a local offer so hope he makes it back to Beaumont in 2years.... Congrats Coach Green and Congrats Hunter! Very proud, well deserving! Chris Fackler

Whats the Best High School game you ever been too!
GTBBaseball replied to Boogy1000's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
French High in 84 played Odessa Permian in Dallas Cowboys Stadium, UIL rules a tie 21-21. French began season 5-4 had to win final game of season to get in playoffs which ended up sparking a conservative offense, then ran through many of great football teams in the Astrosdome, Kyle Field and then on to STATE verse Permian in Dallas, when they(Permian) were argueably the top program in the nation over a 10yr span. That 8-10year run by Permian set in to motion the book 'Friday Night Lights' then onto Hollywood for the Movie and now a TV series. -

Prospect League at Lamar in October
GTBBaseball replied to GTBBaseball's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Yes sir or ma'am, Stricly for the high school student moving towards graduation. This league was developed 3 years ago after I moved here from Louisiana for I felt it was a need for "seniors-to-be" to aid in the recruiting process to supply exposure. With our regions(SETx-SwLa) population and the amount of quality high school coaches, players, and fan support, it was a priority of mine to bring recruiters in as well as bring "over-looked" kids into Lamar's backyard to evaluate. So far, so good, done on minimal funding, either out of my own pocket or fees paid for by the Prospect's Family. I have recently been getting numerous emails and calls from players as far out as Lufkin, Wharton, Baton Rouge, and Shreveport to come down to participate, but I am SETx-SWLa first and foremost. I do want to address, I do invite some underclassman but on a selection-process only, through recommendations from scouts, high school coaches, or kids I have seen myself and project very well as a junior-senior. Hope this gives a little more insight and once again, this cant be done without the continued support of high school coaches and the entire Lamar University Baseball Staff. Chris Fackler -
I am currently doing a report/research on select baseball in our region, and need some information from teams-programs who are involved with select baseball. Your help is much appreciated, Chris Fackler How many select clubs do we have locally in ALL age divisions and affiliation? Please take a few minutes to help with this list by "cut a paste" this below OR just add to this thread. 8under - 9under - 10under - 11under - 12under - 13under - 14under - 15under - 16 under - Gladiator(3teams) 17under - Gladiator(3teams) / Tx Sundevils 18under - Texas Sundevils Also how many "Little League Baseball" Organizations remain in SE Tx? We are working hard at filling the rosters for the 3rd annual Golden Triangle Prospect League at LAMAR UNIVERSITY every Monday Night in October. We are not concerned with which summer program for which you compete, we just want to connect that bridge with recruiter to the player from Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana, as well as aid the Lamar staff with local kids performing for them at Vincent Beck. Please email me with information, especially you high school coaches if you havent received your "player recommendation form". Let me clearly state in advance, we DO NOT accept all players who have interest, for we have a qualification process. There are only so many roster spots and time we have Lamars field to perform each week. Selection based on: Skill level Projectability Success on the field Academic Standing Recommendations from other high school coaches in the players district Recommendations from college recruiters who want to bare down on a local kid more in depth We have a 8man staff which includes professional scouts who are responsible for this region evaluating talent. Here is a quick list of kids who have competed in the league the past 2 years. / (I Apologize for not listing all recruited kids) Stefan Cloroen - Univ Houston / Nathanial Svoboda - San Jac / Tanner Mathis - Ole Miss / Matt Hicks - Univ La-Lafayette / Phillip Menou - La Tech / Evan Powell - LSU Logan Johnson - Panola / Joseph Robertson - Cisco JC / Connor McDonald - McClennen JC / Jeremy Pinders - Tx A-M-Corpus Cristi / Kane Benoit - Lamar / Cody Laird - Lamar Chris Muellner - Blinn JC / Tim Barry - Blinn JC / Keith Lemelle - Southern Univ / Tyler Theriot - Lamar / Brandon Broussard - LSUe / Jude Vidrine - Lamar / ...and so on...
