West Orange-Stark 7 Bridge City 0/Gm1-Final/WO-S leads series 1-0
marshman replied to WOSgrad's topic in High School Baseball
KJ scored the first run after walking to 1st, stole 2nd, reached 3rd on a ground ball then scored on a wild pitch. Gary Stelly said KJ is 17 of 18 for stolen bases this season! -

Keep it going WO-S! -
I agree, I think its a game that should always be played. It generates a lot of interest and fun for the town and some good natured talk among graduates form both schools. Not to mention there are times when you may have a cousin playing against another cousin. LCM always seems to play WOS tough and puts up great effort. Besides no matter which stadium the game is played at, it s a short drive home either way! lol

From what I heard LCM will be back in the spread next season. They've scrapped the slot T

I let a 10pt have a pass last weekend. He came out and fed all around for over 30 minutes. He was a young deer otherwise I would have taken him. I really hope he makes it until next year, he is a monster in the making. I tried to post a pic but it said the file was too large. -

Went out to fill feeders yesterday after work and had a doe run out in front of me, stop look at me driving towards her. She then ran away from me up the gravel road then turned back and went into the same patch of woods she came out of. As soon as she turned and went back into the woods an buck came running out where she came out of, never even looked at me driving up the road ran right after her. COuldn't tell what he was but he did look wide enough to be legal. This was in south Jasper county. -
It was a blast. I went by myself but there was a great group there. Everything that went with normal deer hunting you could throw out the window. There is alot of camping at that park along with a kids playground, softball fields and a big swimming pool. Its one of the busier state parks in the state so the deer are used to people. One guy stuck a doe and we ended up tracking the blood trail across the tile by the pool! We all had a good laugh over that. We joked around alot about things like instead of applying cover scent, just get a fire started and start frying bacon and turn on the truck radio. I got 2 does inside one of the campsites about 40 yards from the bathrooms and shower house. I've put in for it last year and this year and I will keep on putting in for it. Only thing was the drive. I'm in Orange so it was about 9hours.

West Orange-Stark class of '84

I know WOS wasn't formed until 78, but i was referring to Coach Ronnie Anderson and his West Orange teams of the mid 70's . the 75 team i believe went to state.
-
Not trying to be negative at all but it seems like WO-S baseball has gone through some lean years. Back from the mid '70's through most of the 80's they were always one of the top teams in the area. Are the kids there just not that interested in baseball anymore?
-
Way my seasons gone, I will be VERY happy to put a doe or 2 down during the ML season.
-
Now that WO-S season is done, I'm lost when I sit down in front of the computer! For the last 5 months or so before I do anything else on it I check the board to see what new posts are there. Now I don't know what to do!!!

I'm hoping this cold weather coming this week will get them moving more. I only hunted Friday morning but I'm off this week and plan on hitting it hard.
Lee Fedora is one the best hs coaches you will find anywhere, and I believe his brother is the University of North Carolina head coach. Fedora knows his football.
I understand that, never said he wasn't a great coach. But his brother has nothing to do with it.
