  1. I think each has a place of significance. For the one and two places in the order I think a good OBP is more important. For three four and five hitters I think batting average is more important, actually BA isnt more important - the point here is you want kids here that will drive the ball with runners on. I think they are both important but play different roles. Just my humble opinion.
  2. Joe Washington and Eugene Seale
  3. Jaren Ford and Matthew Pace are a lot alike. They both are relentless on defense - both play at a high level of speed and both can score. I love the way both of these guys play basketball - the way they hustle. I have nothing but compliments to both of these young men. Having said all of this - my vote is for J Ford for private school player of the year.
  4. Recruiting service rankings are not absolutes, and perhaps you could influence recruiting rankings by writing checks - I wouldnt know. What I do know is that you can laugh at rankings or you can mock rankings but college coaches are paid and remain employed for winning ball games, and apparently a number of quality college coaches feel strongly enough about Tim Ferguson to have offered him scholarship opportunities. I think these coaches are the ultimate authorities on who are the leading performers, the ranked performers, in their sports and the evidence suggests that Tim is one of these leading performers. To suggest that a membership to a recruiting service can garner one this kind of attention is laughable. Congratulations Tim Ferguson - you have worked hard and you have earned it.
  5. This list needs to be renamed the Most Popular 30 Player Ranking. 16 of the 30 players from 6 schools? Some of these teams with 2 and 3 kids in the top 30 while omitting a couple of players from Westbrook, you are kidding yourselves. Most of this list is correct - most of the top talents in the area are represented - through all classes. But failure to identify Antoine and Malone from Westbrook is omitting part of the SE Texas talent pool. These two guys played big when I saw them beat Central and Ozen earlier in the basketball season.
  6. The Pre Season All Southeast Texas Baseball Team includes every local college commit to date with the exception of one, Cathedral's Nick Christopher - Lamar Commit. Nick deserves mention on the Pre Season All Southeast Texas Baseball Team.
  7. Roman Antoine and Sage Malone from Westbrook belong on this.
  8. Well again remember the private school players.... Ashabranner from Cathedral for the defensive award. Was 1st team all state, District MVP, and was a key playmaker for the Warriors this season.
  9. Congrats to the Warriors - Tourney Champs.
  10. Katelynn Thompson - Cathedral Freshman - Newcomer of the Year
  11. Great Job Rob. Vanderbilt is getting a good one.
  12. Pitcher - Katie Shumaker - Westbrook
  13. 2nd Base - Jessica Heinlein - Westbrook
  14. Lets not start rumors over schedule changes.
  15. I like the way the Lycan kid from Westbrook plays the game. Seems to be a tough hard nose kind of player.
  16. Schooling and McDonald at Silsbee. Christopher at Cathedral. Stringer at BC.
  17. J Brown - PA Memorial
  18. Prayers from the Cathedral Warriors.
  19. J Ford got those Cathedral Warriors playing some ball. Way to go J Ford - way to go Warriors.
  20. Congrats Warriors. Great game played by the entire team.
  21. Bay Area Christian High School is in League City near Clear Lake south of Houston on Interstate 45.
  22. This is an ignorant post and ignorant issue. Micah had a great season and is a great high school back.
  23. Cathedral Christian - Pitcher Nick Christopher - Lamar Commit
  24. Ill have to go with Rob Ashabranner for the Ironman award. The kid is a talented DT (6'2, 265) that ended up playing Quarterback for Cathedral. Injuries and other team issues forced the coaches to put there best LINEMAN in the backfield to play quaterback. He earned first team all district Defensive Lineman and Defensive District MVP and earned HONORABLE MENTION honors for QB. The kid played everydown and had to run to the side line after every play the get the offensive play call, he definitly earned his rest. He is definitely a candiddate for the Ironman Award. P.s. and if nothing else probably the biggest QB in TEXAS this season!!!!
