Couple of statements about Georgetown.  They have played 5A ball for about the last 15 years and ask lake travis about the differnce in 5A vs 4A.  So far nobady has really tested this team 14-0 speaks for itself.  Historicaly, GT has been scrappy but undersized and less athletc compared to the Wacos, Pflugervilles, and Stoney Points of the world.  However, since the drop to 4A now they are the big, fast ones.  Their uptempo offence stresses defences and you better have at least 4 DBs that are great athletes in space or you will get exposed! Unload the box they will sit back and make your dbs defend the whole field, bring pressure like Angleton tried and they pick you apart with hots. Qb is very good and these kids are not soft, they will get after you. There oline is very good and the scheme is designed to counter a d-line pass rush.  Guys this is not the fairly straight forward attack you faced against dawson.  I can speak to dawson and gtown i have seen them both in person.  I dont know much abot Nederland last time I saw them was when they played Dayton in like '07 or '08.  That being said their aren't many easy wins in this part of the playoffs.  I feel like the bulldogs will need at least 40 to beat the Eagles.

Ok from my personal experience this is generally how it goes. TALENT and raw athletic ability are number one for most schools (in terms of getting a scholarship).  I know you're going to say look at Drew Brees but how many short QB's in successful college programs are there.  In fact one of the knocks on Colt McCoy is he’s too short and small, at 6'2" 210lbs.  Most schools find recruits based on statistics, if they have blazing speed, or tremendous physical size, or have that "it", gamebreaking factor.  Here's how the recruiting process generally works... they find YOU.  Now keep in mind, division 1 programs are much more picky about their recruits then D2 and below.  Don't get me wrong kids can be, and frequently are, coached into solid even great high school players (above their talent level).  I have worked very closely in the past with not only with NCAA D1 but with soon to be NFL players getting ready for a combine. Let me tell you something... they stand out.  In other words they pass the eye test.  Their ability and body type makes them look like men amongst boys out there.  However, this doesn't always transfer to high school wins either.  For example, look and a program like Alief Elsk. They have two of the biggest and most talented HS o-linemen I have ever seen, plenty of speed on both sides of the ball and at times this year hung up a lot of points. However, their record was just above .500 and they ran into Cinco Ranch in the first round.  Point being, have a good or even great high school career doesn't make you a college prospect, just like being a 5 star recruit doesn’t mean your high school team will win.

I want all of you to remember some things when you make your loud/ screaming comments in the stands.  How would you like it if someone came to your job, stood over YOUR shoulder and screamed YOU suck ect.  And to boot your wife and kids were either very close by or at least within earshot. I have a feeling you guys who bash coaches wouldn't handle that with the dignity and class that many coaches (not to mention their spouses) do.  Also, I want to thank Mr. George for giving a coach an forum to address a game and a comunity.  It's pretty rare that in this day and age we can have a media outlet that gives the coach an honest voice.  Support the boys on the field and have some class guys.

Plus I'm sure against Vidor the Dayton will walk the safeties up in the box. Tivy is not a metroplex team... more like centex and it took a amazing strip by AJ Dugat and a last second FG for Dayton to beat them in a very physical ballgame.  Also, I think that if you look in recent years the DFW metroplex gets a lot of hype because they have a lot of talented teams packed very close.  Examples including Southlake Carroll, Allen, Trinity, Birdville, Highland Park, Ennis, Denison, Denton Guyer and Ryan.  Those schools plus the Dallas and FW isd schools (see Carter, Skyline, and Dunbar) tend to produce a ton of D1 guys with speed.  I would say most of your BIG name talent down here comes from a bit closer to the bigger city Katy, Cypress-Spring , FB, Aldine, Alief ect.  to boot in recent years alot of state champs have come out of those places I just named.  Bottom line lager population density = bigger talent pool.  Throw in East-Tex like Lufkin, Tyler and I bet you I could find a pretty good crop of college talent.  Don't believe me checkout UT, A&M, & even OU and OSU's roster.
