Didn't put the freshman because I didn't really consider him a starter. And, I knew Langston moved so I didn't count him as a returning starter. Just noted returning starters. Several more on both sides of the ball that got considerable playing time. Just didn't list them!

PNG Offense- Returning Starters (6) O-Line (2)-Josh Hranicky (T), John Nichols (G) Roschon Hughes Riggs Stansbury (started on Defense last year at safety, moving to WR) Defense- Returning Starters (4) Bost (started at safety last year, moving to LB this year) LeBouef Hammonds Ayala

PN-G 8-0 over HF -
I think I believe similar to you, this College Station team is not the world beaters that some seem to think they are, and although they will have the better athletes across the board similar to PAM, I think we have a fighters chance. Our team will play hard to the last whistle and leave it all on the field. Who knows, we just may shock the world!
-
That may be so, but the fact remains that this years team has also given up plenty of points late with backups in!
-
So very similar to this years backups giving up points late in several games?
-
Yes, probably so, with more spread offenses putting up more points now a days it might be apples to oranges!
-
Looking back at the 99 PNG team, they averaged right at (31) points a game and gave up right at (16) a game. This years team has averaged about (38) points a game and gave up right at (19) points a game.

With the rash of injuries dating back to even before the start of the season, that PNG is sitting here at 11-1 and about to play in the third round of the playoffs is Remarkable. I can't remember a more injury plagued season in many many years. Pretty amazing! To me we are playing with house money at this point. I think coach is doing a really good job. Then again, there are plenty of PNG fans that will continue to gripe....Some PNG fans could win $4900 on a convenience store scratch off and then complain it's not $5000.

I didn't say you were asking for my opinion, but just like I got yours, you got mine!
-
I like PN-G's chances this week, I think the players and coaches will take care of business come Friday night!
-
Yes, what is gained by this? Absolutely NOTHING! Go home after the game and complain until you are blue in the face, otherwise, essentially what you are saying is, "I'm an a----le.....and I don't care"!
-
There are a bunch of fans that sit around me and it wouldn't matter if we were up 30-0 at half and given up only (1) first down, they would still have 3-4 things to complain about! Interesting thing is that most of them either didn't play at all, or were on the roster at some point but didn't see the field very much......Still bitter about it!

Any kid can play, doesn't mean they can do better than the corners that have played every game and helped us to a 10-1 season. After all, PN-G has those 10-1 starts all the time!
-
Yes, the ones we have only helped us to a 10-1 record. Maybe we could pull up some JV or freshman that could do better. After all, it's that easy!
-
Probably this week with a club on his hand. Probably not playing receiver but possibly rotating in on some defense.

Could not have said it better!!!

He is a very good special teams player, works hard, and makes the most of his opportunities

By the way, I've asked them both about your son, they like him very much!

I have two on the team as a matter of fact. And neither one start. One hardly plays at all. Would it be nice if they played more, sure, but football isn’t about feeling good because your kid gets playing time or because you as their parent believe they deserve more playing time, especially in the playoffs. It’s about winning and moving on. That’s reality!!!

The coaches see these kids Every Day in the spring and Every Day beginning with two-a-days in early August. They know what they are capable of. If some kids are playing more now, or maybe playing multiple positions now in the playoffs, it’s because the coaching staff knows that’s what gives the team the best chance to win. They are not going to play kids simply because they are the backup at certain positions where they may have injuries, they are going to play kids in those positions that they believe will help the team get wins and move on!
