  2. Yep, Julian #12 plays DB and Cristian #4 plays WR.

  4. Well, I guess someone from the opposition should jump in here. Lufkin needed a game after last week in Tyler. 6A Legacy has one of the best teams they have had in a number of years. They are very good. It will interesting to see what they do the next couple of weeks, but if I were a betting man I would say watch out. Lufkin played about 10 sophomores in rotation last week, I guess you do stuff like that when you haven't had spring football or 7 on 7. Anyway, it cost us on some plays and here we are today. There are some folks who have been moved around this week, some sophs are back on the JV. So we will see if Lufkin has found a combination that works or not. Nederland should provide a good test on the road. Lufkin goes on the road next week too, to Magnolia West. The Panthers won't play their first home game until October 16th. Looking forward to see if we squash again or click things together. If you guys have any questions about Lufkin, maybe I could answer something for you. I think the SETX site has a 2020 run down on Lufkin. When you lose 70-32 the week before, I dare not make any predictions. PhatMike19 needs to change the topic to Nederland and Lufkin.
  5. Texan Drive Stadium is awesome. Lufkin played Westfield there last year in the playoffs
  6. Carthage screen is 1200 sq ft. Seguin and New Caney have new 1400 sq ft screens. Lufkin has a 36 ft W x 21 ft H (756 sq ft ) NEVCO LED HD video screen installed in 2016. Everyone is trying to get into this game, not to be out done by the other. Thinking about moving our current stadium screen next year to the new state of the art baseball - softball complex and getting a bigger one for the football stadium. Lots of new stuff going in over at Lufkin. New multi Purpose competition Gym right next to the home side stadium seats, all on campus for the first time ever. New Middle School and all. 7. Listened to the game. Good game, tough loss for EC. Low scoring for sure, they just could not find the scoring tonight. Probably the best two 3A teams in the State though. We will see if Kountze can keep the ball rolling.
  8. EC wins. Any chance EC and Kountze will meet in the next round or two?
  9. Time for me to say , I was impressed with EC and underestimated them.. They had the best defensive pressure I have ever seen in a 3A or 4A or 5A classification. Great coaching. If you guys keep that up, you guys will be in Austin in a few weeks. If your not, I will be surprised.
  10. We recognize them as the Central ISD Bulldogs around here. Pollok is an unincorporated community in Angelina County, Texas. I guess the UIL uses it as a point of reference even though the Pollok area is a few miles North of where Central High School is located. You cannot control the strength of schedule you end up with but the comparison I tried to make earlier is EC played 20 of their 33 games against teams with .500 records or less, while Central played 11 of their 32 games against teams .500 or less. It is win or go home Friday night, you only have to beat a team once in this part of the season.
  11. What makes EC the better team? Based on your observance of Central and Aransas Pass? I thought you said season results don't count.
  12. Central only lost 67-64 in that game with Aransas Pass, it was a close game through out. Plus they are a 4A team. I will be in Livingston tomorrow night to hopefully watch a really good basketball game.
  13. Don't be over confident about your press. I have seen Central break good presses all year. They play smart basketball.
  14. I don't see your point. I said nothing about about weak or strong. I fully understand you have to play who is in front of you, whether they are having a good year or not. I just stated how the schedule happen to turn out for EC this year. It could happen to any team out there. Play the hand you are dealt. That's all you can do.
  15. Well, you do have to look at season and similar opponents to see a match up level. Which in this case shows the EC and Central game will be a very competitive game . Look I am normally not a Central fan, mainly follow 6A Lufkin , now 5A. However, have some friends out at 3A Central about 5 miles from Lufkin who got me involved a little bit watching games. It is not 6A ball by any means but much more fundamental in most cases, which I like to watch. Should be a great game and the best part is I really don't have a dog in the hunt.
  16. Did not say anything about EC being blown out. Was making reference to the guy who said EC would win by 38 and I said Central has not been blown out all year. Read Well, 75% of EC schedule has been against teams with .500 or less records. Just as I said. Did not say weak or strong, just stated a fact.
  17. Watched them play Huntington twice in the Dallardsville Tourney back the early part of December, Huntington won the first game 65-60 , then Kountz won the next day 62-58. Huntington also beat 2A Broaddus 76-53 during the year. Broaddus is 22-10 and still in the playoffs playing Tenaha this Friday.
  18. NO Name Above said EC will Win by 38?????? Just shows somebody knows nothing about the Central Bulldogs. They are 24-8 and 5 of their losses were close games to ranked 4A teams early in Tournament play. They did not play 75% of their games against teams with a .500 or less records. No one has blown them out all year. They are a lot better than Kountze ,which I have seen play. They did not beat a bunch of 2A ranked teams. Common opponent is Broaddus on 2/16 in a warm up game which EC won 89-54, Central played Broaddus on 12/12/17 in the regular season and won 57-36.
  19. Lufkin returns senior QB Jeffery Claybon 6'3" 190 and senior RB Trevon Lewis 6' 210 as starters on offense for 2008. Lufkin will still run some spread but also have added the Pistol O to their package. They have lots talent on offense that hasn't played on Friday nights but are going to surprise a few people. They will have very good back up RB in Wendell Smith 6' 180 and Michael Ingram 6' 185. The WR corp will consist of Quinn Trimble 6'3" 185, Tra Horace 5'9" 170, Kasey Jones 5"10 175, Taz Haliu 5"10" 170 and D'adrick Lee 6'2" 215 all have great hands and speed. The O-line will be young but they came back bigger and stronger than they were in the Spring, they will be better than most think. The Lufkin D will be stout. In fact their front 4 could be one of the best in the State. JaMarkus McFarland 6'3" 285, Garman Reed 6'3" 245 , Ja'Darius Dade 6'2" 245, and eventually Shaqille Teel 6'1" 270 will be the front four D-line. The secondary has two returning starters in Jr Carrington Byndom 6'1" 185 and Sr De' Marques Freeman 6' 180. Returning LB's will be Sr Ka"Landis Phillips 5'10" 190, Jr JaMendric Garrett 5'11" 190, Jr Blaine McBride 5"10" 185 and Sr Chris Davis 6'1 190, will play by committee. These guys like to hit and play physical Panther football. www.lufkinpanthersports.com
