I predicted this one, gonna b a fun week. Tiger coach raised up in Giddings, they hate Smithville. La Grange is a rival, but they hate Smithville. Goes back over 50 years of sneaking into each town and burning one anothers Bonn Fires, at homecomings. For the most part Smithville has been a losing program, it' always considered a disgrace to get beat by them. Hopefully Silsbee can figure out how to win this one.

Does that mean you don't think Lumberton can beat Carthage? lol

Just looking at each teams matchups, HF got to be the better team, at least as long as they can keep their QB on the field. If he gets hurt their done.

I was told Bellville good on defense, Jasper for sure has best athletes in the bracket , but not very good blocking scheme. I think Bellville has a chance in this one. For sure be an upset but not surprising.

I just heard La Grange doesn't throw very well, and they are not super good running either. They might be like Huntington , well coached and big, but no skill kids. This might be a good time for Bellville to beat Jasper, and wouldn't surprise me if Smithville advances to 2nd round. I think Giddings will play HF, and they may have trouble stopping the HF QB running, and defending against his passing as well. Can't wait to see how all turns out.

Heard the Flu Bug hit the team hard this week, don't know how that's gonna affect the game, might not want to kiss any players after the game.lol

I'm gonna go out on a limb here, but I don't think La Grange gets past the 50 yard line , much less score a TD, at least before WOS puts in their JV, and they may not score on them either.

update as of this morning , not as bad as it looked yesterday, thats why I didn't elaborate yesterday. Several will play hurt, one is still questionable, might b limited. Rather not put names out there. Looks like the academic angels shined once again for the Tiger Varsity , if you get my drift?

I heard Silsbee might be missing couple key players, don't know details as of yet, maybe later in the week. Probably determine how far they go this year, they just don't have enough depth to loose top players.

i wish we had seen this match up in the regular season, we would have a better idea of how they will do. If I had to guess, and just a guess, WOS takes this one. Just my opinion but I think Coach T defense will rule in this game.

I like the four team system , more kids and fans being able to take part. And it gives the better teams a chance to not get so beat up in the first round or two, kinda like what pre district is suppose to be. And just think how much better BC is gonna be next year with that extra week of practice. lol We could go back to the old format with two go to big school and two go small school, but seemed like every year a small school ended up in the big school bracket.So look at it this way , it gives us something to argue about.

I dont think anything is easy when it comes to Silsbee, except, well, least not, when it comes to football.

If you have 1 or 2 team playoff system, a lot of teams could start dribbling sooner, thats for sure.

You never know, might be that special year where Huffman goes 16 and 0. They get so excited they build a new Dairy Queen . lol

I was told Giddings weak against spread with athletes, and a good passing game. La Grange is not in that category. Gidd backup at QB, sophmore, with potential , dont know if he is ready yet? Time will tell? But you guys are right , a lot of strange things could happen in this 4a2 bracket after tonight? Just think if Jasper, WOS, Shepard, Giddings and Smithville loose, I'll have to tear my bracket up, and start over, or use all my eraser rubber up . lol

Just an observation, no dog in this argument, but MOMS AND DADS stepping up.

Refs did a great job of getting Tigers o. off the field, with phantom calls.

One thing for sure , if HF scores 21 pts against WOS, they will win. WOS got to be physically beat up after playing Liberty. Liberty does a lot of extra stuff in the pile verbally and physically, thats the reason for kids from opposing teams getting un sportsman like penalties. If Liberty makes 4th seed and plays Jasper 1st round, get ready for some ejections at the end of that game.

Tough loss for HF, they had two weeks to prepare for match up with Tigers. Tigers had limited practice time past week with injuries to starters, and dealing with the storm. If they can bounce back, with that kid at QB, anything is possible. If they can beat WOS by 8 pts or more, they will b seated #1 in district. Either way ,they will b a force to deal with in the playoffs.

If like the last two games, Tigers never punt, I think they will win. Tigers are really beat up after Liberty. one concussion , one shin bone bruise, one with shoulder stinger, one with two shoulder stingers, one with a bruised back, and prob some I 'm unaware of. All would be starting on Defense. But if WOS wins district , Tigers will b in bottom bracket win or loose this HF game. But they might have to play HF again in third round either way, then meet winner of WOS / Jasper game in the fourth round, like last year. They need to win the last game to keep the MO going though.
